This two bedroom and two bathroom cottage is perched on a bluff over looking the ocean which offers the most incredible views!
This classic rental is one of the original cottages built on the oceanfront in the Park Hill neighborhood of Cambria. It is the perfect place to escape and enjoy your monthly visit to the Central Coast! This home offers updated, wood floors and carpeting since 2021 for a fresh contemporary feel. Sit on the back deck and enjoy watching dolphins pass by with a local glass of wine at sunset-- you cannot beat this fabulous view! We also invite your fur babies, we accept dogs! It is very rare to find a pet-friendly, oceanfront rental in Cambria!
The cottage is walking distance to the famed Fiscallini Ranch Preserve and the Moonstone Beach Boardwalk. The location is simply ideal! This really is the perfect place to escape and enjoy an oceanfront vacation on the Central Coast!

When you're ready to venture out and explore the beautiful Central Coast you will have many options close by. Hearst Castle and Hearst Winery, perched above the San Simeon Cove, are a short drive up the coast, and the famed Paso Robles wine country is a quick drive east. Charming San Luis Obispo is a 45-minute drive south and the Big Sur Coast is at your doorstep heading north. Cambria is the perfect starting off point for countless adventures.

Nottingham Beach Cottage

Could not have hoped for more. Right on the ocean, always something to watch and feel. The house is perfect for two and guests. And, they allow pets. The small town of Cambria is the perfect beach town. Wonderful restaurants, shops, music venues and various events throughout the week including an excellent farmers market on Friday. We have already “booked” another stay for next year.

Nottingham Cottage

Our family had a lovely experience at Nottingham Cottage. The views are spectacular and a toe dip in the ocean is just steps away at the nearby Shamel Park. Spending time on the patio on the cozy furniture was our absolute favorite to read a book and listen to the waves. This little cottage has everything you need to enjoy a relaxing time at the beach.

SMALL TOWN PERFECTION

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed at this unusual oceanfront cottage in Cambria for two wonderful months. The “cottage” is unusual in that it started as a radar outpost in WW2 and was then built upon thereafter. Realtors chant “location, location, location” and this house has it in spades. With Moonstone Beach on one side and a beautiful preserved acreage on the other and then the ocean front just beyond the back deck you have it all. Going back next year if available. It was perfect.

An incredible experience

The cottage is not large, not new, but it is well equipped and maintained. It has everything we need for a pleasant stay including a fenced yard for our dogs.

Cambria Getaway

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: A wonderful waterfront (an older home that is small, but perfect for the 2 of us). It was a great location for everything, even the town of Cambria was a short 2-mile walk. Highway 1 was just a mile away if you want to explore the area. The property is as described, and the 2nd bedroom is small. The BBQ needs to be cleaned.Breem Realty was very easy to work with and they made the whole experience very enjoyable. We will continue to choose Breem Realty to find our vacation stay.

Beautiful Cottage for Month of October

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The cottage is beautifully renovated with hardwood floors and the kitchen has very good appliances. The two bedrooms are separated so that even a baby crying in guest room did not wake grandparents in master bedroom. The faucets in master bedroom were very difficult to work. And a screen door in living room sliding door would be helpful?

Nottingham Cottage, third times a charm.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Location, location , location....We just returned to the Colorado mountains after our third month of May stay in the cottage. We always enjoy our oceanside time and it’s hard to beat the experience there. Great views, nice yard, comfortable patio, plus all the standard indoor amenities we expect. Proximity to Fiscalini Ranch and the bluff walking trail, delightful! Abundant marine life and a wealth of pelicans and seagulls plus cormorants and herons enhance the time outside.The history of the cottage is fascinating, its original intent being to serve as a lookout for possible Japanese wartime threats. Information on the two generations of family ownership is available in the cottage. We feel fortunate to have been able to spend time there and look forward to more returns in the future.

Nottingham Cottage again

We’ve made multiple trips to the Cottage and continue to enjoy our monthly stays there. Though small, it is well maintained and meets our needs very well. We expect to continue to return as long as it is available as a monthly rental.The sheltered oceanfront deck with good quality seating, is a highlight for outdoor enthusiasts. Indoors, both the living room and main bedroom offer great ocean views. In short, if ocean proximity is your desire, this location is hard to beat.The staff at Breen is responsive, helpful and friendly. We are always pleased with our interactions with them. Housekeeping is efficient and effective.We are always pleased with both Breen and Nottingham Cottage and we have yet another a return trip booked for next spring. In the meantime we’ll enjoy a beautiful Rocky Mountain winter.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We live in the Colorado mountains but love some time on the ocean. We have traveled to Cambria annually for 40 years. Cambria is our kind of community with a low population density and great walking / hiking opportunities including daily walks on Fiscalini Ranch.This was our first time in this particular cottage and we enjoyed it. It is not new, it is not fancy, but it is clean, it is well maintained and, the oceanfront location cannot be beaten. We were pleased to read the interesting history of the cottage and its ownership which was provided. The master bedroom bed was very comfortable making sleeping with the background sound of the ocean waves a pleasant experience.The back yard is attractively landscaped, fenced, with a large deck nicely sheltered from the prevailing ocean breeze. It was a great place to read a book or enjoy a bottle of Paso Robles red wine and appetizers.As Cambria remains our “go to” ocean locale, we hope to return to this cottage for another visit in the future.

Nottingham Cottage

Nottingham Cottage was very old and rustic, but it was clean and comfortable. The house could use some maintenance, repairs and updating, but the location was fantastic. The Pacific Ocean is essentially in your backyard and the views from the rear deck were spectacular. If you're looking for a modern, upgraded Ritz Carlton type of property, this is not your place. However, the house itself is very warm and cozy with all the basic essentials that you may need. Breen Vacation Station was the property manager and they were extremely accommodating and responsive on anything we needed.

Our stay at Nottingham cottage

Rating Details: The vacation rental was very dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house smelled very damp on arrival, but worse was the foul odor in the fridge and freezer. Despite cleaning and disinfecting it and buying boxes of baking soda we failed to completely remove the smell .The carpeting was badly stained, and the kitchen was so greasy we had to remove cutlery from the drawers and thoroughly wash it. The bathtub in the master bath is scratched and stained. Having to deep clean a place on arrival is a frustrating way to begin a month long stay. The outside deck is dangerously rotted , full of holes and rusty nails.

Charming and a beautiful location

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had 48 hours of bliss. Then the sewer backed up and for the next two weeks we had to time our flushes and showers. There were three plumbers involved and we ended with a hole in the front yard covered by plywood. The very next day we lost power to the refrigerator and the center wall. We used the owner’s extention cord and had to buy two more to complete our stay.
