The house was nice! We appreciated the well stocked kitchen with equipment and place servings. We enjoyed the gentle sloping walk to the dock. We will stay there again.

Great stay!

We stayed here with 6 adults and 1 child. Perfect location and clean inside. Was exactly how it was described in description, and Brian was super easy to communicate with! We hope to be back!

This home is listed as gentle slope to the lake. While this caused no issues in my trip, I'd warn that someone elderly may struggle. There are no steps but the path is steep. The boat lift was amazing. The home is in great location next to a few Marinas, golf course and winery. Which is awesome. Super quiet at night too. Upon check in, there were dead bugs in the floor and one bed had food stains across the sheets. So I'm not confident in the cleaning before check In. Overall, I would stay here again. However, this was my third short term rental at Norris this summer. In comparison, I don't think the value was there for price. The other locations were cleaner and half the price of this home for same square foot.

Excellent location- OUTSTANDING dock!

This dock is superb with the jet ski docks and lift for ski boat plus the location is fabulous. The owner is very responsive to any questions you may have.

Beautiful home on the lake

Beautiful home with easy walk to private boat dock. Very clean and mattresses were all very comfortable . Plenty of space for family. Kitchen is spacious and has good supply of cookware.

Great Lake house

Our adult group of 6 surely enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home. Updated home with great floor plan. The host was eager to answer any questions we had and made us feel at home. We will definitely be rebooking this amazing location.

Lake Life

This is a beautiful home with everything you need for small or large families. The home is very spacious, laid out very well and in a small cove right off of the main channel close to Shanghai Marina. We had the best time!!

We had a great time, my grand daughter said it was amazing lol. Had all the supplies needed for cooking, only issue in kitchen, stove may be on last leg, or elements going out, stove top didnt get hot enough to cook with, there was a large electric hot plate we used, worked great. Phone service was not good at all, Wi-Fi worked great. Overall great trip, and very nice place to stay..

Beautiful Neighborhood, Beautiful and Clean Lake

The house is nice and well equipped for a larger group. The views from the house are amazing. The driveway is a bit steep and the backyard is a bit steep to the dock, especially with wet leaves on the ground- just take your time walking. We enjoyed our stay! THANK YOU!

Thank you for the review. House now features a 6 foot wide path from house to dock, where it will be easy to keep leaves clear of path.

Fun for everyone

Really nice house> Overall clean but need to focus on the decks more. We had to sweep the decks clean of branches and cob-webs. Owner response was quick and helpful. Docks for boats and jet skis were nice. Great stay.

Great stay on the lake

We had a girls weekend down at Hammer Haus and had a great time! There was plenty of room for 12 of us and the description of the place was accurate. The slope down to the lake is a little steep, but that’s to be expected at a Norris house. Nothing we couldn’t manage while carrying floats, coolers, etc. It was easy to check in and communicating with Brian was super easy!

Nice House

House was nice and clean. Nice areaThe water is a little rough for my liking but it is the Deerfield area. Had no propane to grill with.

We typically have 1 to 2 propane tanks to grill with and in the event of both being empty renters can exchange tanks at a store within the Deerfield community. Renters will be refunded the cost of the propane tank exchange, This is explained in the signed rental contract.

KY / TN stay

Beautiful house and great location. Great size bedrooms and well apportioned kitchen. Plenty of deer and squirrels to keep you entertained. We rented a pontoon for one day and it was within 45 minutes by water (they will deliver to the house if rented for three+ days). Great fire pit for hotdogs roast and smores. Really lets you enjoy Tennessee mountains. Owner (Brian) was easy to contact and very responsive. Definitely would recommend this property!

Great Property, Clean, Amazing Views

Great property with plenty of room for everyone. Clean. Amazing views and not too far from our preferred Marina, Shanghai. The owner was very nice and showed a pride in ownership. Unfortunately, double decker pontoon boats are not permitted. It was mentioned in the rental agreement, but we did not receive our rental agreement until less than 24 hours before checking in. There is a boat lift for ski boats and a jet ski port for 2 jet skis. We had the best time! I would definitely recommend this property!

great house for our family!

The house overall was spacious and clean, and had plenty of kitchenware etc. The 'gentle slope' is a bit treacherous for older folks, and anyone coming in via boat make sure you have someone put down the lift before you attempt the dock - the wake from the channel can be a bit challenging. Overall a great stay for our family - had plenty of room and private spaces. We had a couple infants and the big bedrooms made it ideal for pack 'n plays etc. For the golfers - if you don't know the course, it's also a challenge...blind greens and lots of hills, but still alot of fun! Location is great since it's just a few minutes boat ride to Tiki Hut or Shanghai marina (great food).

I enjoyed having Sarah and her family. I am responding to Sarah’s comments to clarify: The slope is gradual / gentle (no stairs) but for anyone with a family member in their 90’s, I would imagine anything but flat could be treacherous. For those that have experience renting houses on Lake Norris, you have likely dealt with steep stairs all the way down to the water, which is really tiring and quite the challenge, specially if you forget something and have to do it all over again. Boat lifts need to be up or floating when not in use, as this crucial to allow dock movers to reposition the dock as the water level changes. If you arrive by boat with the lift up, you will need an able bodied First Mate to simply step off the boat onto the dock / jetski docks and lower the lift. Dealing with wake is challenging anywhere on Norris lake if it’s a busy day, you just have to wait until there is a break in the waves to make it easier to dock. Wake in a cove is far better then the monster wake on the main body. Sarah provided good feedback and took great care of the house.

Even better than the pictures

My family and I booked a long weekend trip for our dad, as he has been facing health issues that leave our future with him uncertain. The moment we walked into the house we were all stunned at how beautiful it was, even better than the pictures. The floor to ceiling windows gave the entire house an incredible view of the blue-green lake, and this included three of the bedrooms, each with an entrance to the double decker porch. It even rained and was a bit chilly for most of our stay, but honestly it didn't even put a damper (see what I did there) on the trip. The rain and cloudy skies actually made the common spaces very cozy, and the windows still provided a lot of natural light. Beyond the house itself, the owner was incredibly attentive. He typically responded within 15 minutes, and when one of the toilets weren't flushing efficiently, he sent out a plumber that same day. This is definitely somewhere we would come back to with our family.

Hammer House Hospitality

Hammer House was perfect for our group of 8-9 adults. Roomy enough for everyone to be together for meals and visiting, and have your own space as well. Great location to most marinas on the north side of Norris. Brian responded quickly to any concerns or questions we had all week.

Family fun at the lake

Entire family had a great few days at the lake reminiscing about old times when we owned property at the lake also. House and Dr great and the weather cooperated. We highly recommend the property.
