Historic District: Walk Or Take Golf Cart To The Village

Chez Penny Lane offers an ideal setting for US Open visitors located in Pinehurst's idyllic historic district less than a mile from the Carolina Hotel, Pinehurst Village and the first tee of Pinehurst No. 2.

We adore the community of Pinehurst. It is well known as the home of American Golf and has hosted both the men's and ladies US Open which will return to Pinehurst in June 2029. But in addition to golf the Pinehurst Resort and Country Club offers world-class tennis facilities, 12 pickleball courts, two championship croquet courts, lawn bowling and a four diamond rated spa. The Pinehurst Harness track, host to equine activities ranging from dressage to jumping shows, is also the winter training ground for trotters.

Conceived in the 1890's as a winter resort, the village maintains the New England charm that inspired it. It is a walkable village designed by famed central park landscape architect Frederick Olmstead. Walking distance from our home the village features boutiques, casual dining including two pubs and a village green for walking pets and hosting arts and musical festivals. The nearby villages of Southern Pines and Aberdeen offer other shopping and fine dining.

Day trip excursions of interest include: NC Zoo in Asheboro, Seagrove Pottery, Uwharrie National Forest and the Airborne and Special Operations Museum.

MARVELLOUSS HOUSE IN PINEHURST VILLAGE

I have been going to Pinehurst every year! This house makes Pinehurst a special place and its owners make it even better! Chris & Buck are amazing hosts. I assure you that the house is even better than the photos. If you have a family profile, that will be your home. High end equipment in the kitchen. Chris's impeccable decor with reliquary furniture and nothing better than chatting with Buck who is a living encyclopedia of Golf. Just Go!!

Chez Penny was fabulous family getaway!

A beautifully decorated home that exudes the warmth of the owners, Christine & Buck! We were vacationing for family golf camp and had grandparents join in. Three en-suite bedrooms with gorgeous indoor and outdoor spaces for entertaining was a fabulous set up. We loved taking the golf cart into town and enjoying all that Pinehurst has to offer from their great location. Thanks for having us - we look forward to returning!

All the comforts of home

This was our second time renting Chez Penny Lane and we plan to rent again. Friendly kind hosts, amazing location and beautiful home. What really separates this from other rentals is the quality and quantity of how this home is stocked. You can absolutely cook any meal, the bedding is high quality, the laundry room is fantastic. I will also say that I worked from this home. It’s a fantastic remote work location. There are 4 desks in the house and great Wi-Fi.

PERFECT!

Amazing experience. I cannot say enough about how welcoming and generous Buck and Christine are. Their home is absolutely beautiful, it is conveniently located to everything, and yet it is peaceful and quiet. The home has everything you could possibly need to pamper yourself while away from home. The week flew by. We can't wait to return.

Best VRBO experience ever

Pinehurst for a glorious stay!!

Buck & Christine are the best, the nicest hosts!! They know the area, helped us book tee times, local restaurant knowledge…just outstanding. We were there for a month and a half, friends came to visit, the house accommodated everyone so well. We could not have enjoyed ourselves more!! Thank you so much!! ❤️❤️❤️

Perfection in Pinehurst

Words can't even describe the perfection and beauty of Chez Penny Lane. Christine and Buck have thought of every possible detail to ensure you have a stay you will never forget (although you may never leave)! The gorgeous, comfortable home with the softest sheets, amenities in every room, and the most desirable location where you walk to town in 10 minutes, it's all there. We have stayed in stunning homes in the Hamptons, Nantucket and Sea Island, but this is by far our favorite. Thank you Christine and Buck. Now if we could just get some more Pinescones...

Luxurious and charming home in the seat of Pinehurst

This is a gem of a house with the most warm and welcoming hosts we have ever encountered. This was our second time staying, and they once again exceeded our expectation, and they even allowed us to bring our new dog!

A Gem in the Heart of Pinehurst

My husband & I celebrated our anniversary with some friends in this gem of a house within walking distance to the restaurants & shops of Pinehurst Village. The house is filled with art & books, and the furnishings are lovely & unique but also comfortable & welcoming. The hosts are very generous & the house was filled with everything you need for a pleasant stay. There’s even a golf cart! We enjoyed cocktails every afternoon in the beautiful backyard. Our host gave us a great orientation when we arrived & were readily accessible for any questions & even helped us get a tee time. Looking forward to a return visit!

Fantastic experience

We had a wonderful vacation at this property in Pinehurst. The house is gorgeous. The village within walking distance is charming. The owners were extremely helpful and welcoming, and did everything possible to make sure that all our expectations were met. We chose the property because of the stellar reviews, and they are all correct. This easily gets our highest recommendation.

Fabulous Home

We stayed at Chez Penny Lane for a week at the end of June and very much enjoyed it. Christine and Buck are fantastic hosts. The house is well appointed. We cooked meals here and found it very helpful to have basic spices and ingredients available. The quality and quantity of dishes, pans, silverware was excellent. The rooms are very spacious, even more so than I thought looking at the photos. The fenced in back yard is lovely. The location is fantastic, though a bit close to rail road tracks. Overall, we are so happy we stayed here and would like to stay at this house again.

Great house with fenced yard and golf cart

We enjoyed being so close to Pinehurst resort. It was very easy to take the golf cart up there each day. We also used the golf cart to get to a wonderful park for the kids. The fenced in back yard worked well for the dogs and kids. Yard games were provided. We also enjoyed the grill outside. Cooking was easy indoors with everything we needed. The communication with the owners was very easy and helpful. They are very friendly!! We really enjoyed our stay and hope to return.

Exceeded Expectations

Christine and Buck were the most gracious, genuine, and kind hosts. They were willing to accommodate our every request, including accepting deliveries on our behalf before our arrival. The photos online do not do the home justice. It is warm, effervescent, and welcoming. It was obvious that the home was decorated and cared for with the highest level of attention. The accommodations met our needs to an unexpected degree! Every need was anticipated and met. Buck helped us with golf reservations and dinner recommendations. Christine contacted us when she came upon an item we left behind. She graciously mailed the item to us. Having the fenced-in backyard available for our pup was an unexpected convenience. The cottage is within walking distance to the village - which is packed with unique shops and delightful dining establishments. We could not have been happier with our stay, and our hosts! Hats off to Christine and Buck!

Look no further

This is a tricky one because we loved everything about 135 Blue Rd. We loved it so much that we don't want anyone else to ever stay here, so that it is always available to us when and if we can return. The house itself is lovely from top to bottom and inside out - clean, comfortable, beautifully decorated, idyllic setting, etc., etc. Perfection in all categories. The owners live in the cottage next to the main house, and they are easily accessible should they be needed. However, they are not overbearing or all "up in your business." We had a minor hiccup with one of the appliances, and they sorted it out immediately. If you're looking to play golf, then they can set up games for you at all of The Pinehurst Resort courses. This is the one. Look no further.

The rooms are spacious and each bedroom has an en suite bathroom. We have a fenced back yard and all hard wood flooring. Our kitchen is generously appointed for your culinary endeavors. We are walking distance to the village (7/10 mile), or golf cart.
