Ours is less of a house and more of a home.

A very loved home full of personal touches and individual features, rustic parts, imperfections and homeliness/cosiness. Above all, we strive to provide you with a sparkling clean place that for the days you are with us will make you feel like you’ve lived here forever. 20 years of love and memories have gone into this home and we hope you enjoy sharing our story and becoming part of our family.

We hope and expect you to treat our home as you would your own, use everything you see and find on the shelves and in the cupboards and let us know straight away if there is anything, however small, that you feel will make your stay less than a five star one.

We cannot wait to welcome you to our residence and know you'll have a great time. We'll make sure of it! There is ample space for you and your friends and family to create some fabulous shared memories: around the pool, in the garden, at home with some lovely food, drinks on the patio, a barbecue. You and your party will have the whole place to yourself during your stay, and we will always be contactable in case of any worries or if you need anything. Your stay in glorious La Rochelle awaits!

For the duration of your stay, you will have a characterful six-bedroom house (that sleeps twelve) with private terrace and garden, brick built barbecue and outside seating, light and airy kitchen, characterful living and dining area. Of the six bedrooms, three are with double beds of which one has an en-suite bathroom, and two with twin beds (although in the case of one of these rooms you can configure the two singles as a queen sized double bed). There is a main bathroom with bath, shower and toilet, and a separate wc for your convenience. Meanwhile, next door are three apartments: two which sleep upto 4 people, with a double bedroom and a double sofa bed in the living room in both cases, and then a third apartment consists of a cosy studio apartment with a sofa-bed for two people. Each of the apartments has its own individual kitchen area and shower room, so if your party consists of three or four separate families going on a special holiday together, this place is ideal for you to enjoy each others' company whilst also having the chance to have your own individual family space at the end of the day. Best of all, there is a 9m salt water swimming pool that all of you can enjoy, for the exclusive use of those renting the residence. And all of this is just twenty minutes' walk, or five minutes' bus ride (the stop is right outside the residence) from the central Place de Verdun at the heart of beautiful La Rochelle. From there, you take a fabulous walk past boutiques and shops through the ancient arches to reach the Old Port with all of its restaurants, bars and entertainment. And La Rochelle is a wonderful place for cycling, with cycle paths running through the town and over to the nearby Ile de Re (which can be done in 30-40 minutes from our residence). There are parking spaces available in the residence for two vehicles, but most guests choose for ease to park in the road outside, where it is free and safe to park.

Linen for your full party is included in the rental price but please note: we do not provide beach/ pool towels.

The area of La Vallée / Fetilly is a quiet and peaceful, residential part of La Rochelle, just next to a giant 'Centre Commercial' (Shopping Centre) with two large supermarkets, petrol station, several organic food supermarkets, bakeries and wine shops and an excellent book, vinyl and CD/multimedia store, amongst many other things. Right across the road from the residence is a 'Bio Coop' organic supermarket with its shelves overflowing with fresh and environmentally friendly produce.

As mentioned, there is a bus stop right outside the residence with buses into town in 5 minutes, and linking to many other locations. No car necessary. Airport 10 minutes/taxi. Bus lines 6 and 11 stop directly next to the Residence. It takes 5 minutes to get to the Place de Verdun in the centre of La Rochelle (it takes about 20 minutes by foot for the same trip). The bus stop is "La Vallée". For cycle paths, they exist everywhere in La Rochelle: search online, and for bus routes, look up the website of the YELO company in La Rochelle.

Please keep noise to a minimum between 11pm and 9am for the sake of our lovely neighbours.

Please note that although cleaning is included in the overall price you will pay for your rental, we assume that cleaning will consist of a maximum of two hours for apartments (four hours for a full house) of cleaning, polishing and disinfecting surfaces, hoovering regular dust and ensuring the bathroom and kitchen are cleaned to a high standard. Where linen is included as part of the rental agreement, cleaning also includes the laundering of linen and towels. We hope that our guests will leave the property in a reasonable state, as they found it, but if our cleaners do encounter a considerable level of extra cleaning work to do, such as unwashed dishes, food or other rubbish such as nappies which have not been disposed of into the outside bins, stains from spilt substances, and so on, we do reserve the right to make an extra cleaning charge per hour of excess cleaning required.

We will always be at the end of a phone-line or email/SMS/Whatsapp if you have any worries, and have a small team of friends and helpers ready to jump in if you have any concerns or if you need anything at all.
