Expansive Oceanviews, AC, Walk to Poipu Beach

Our Big Kahuna is a 3650-square-foot, four-bathroom, five-bedroom residence that can accommodate up to fourteen guests using aero (inflatable) mattresses. This two-story residence merges our 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom unit upstairs unit and our 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom unit downstairs. Each is equipped with an individual entrance. You may utilize either the spiral stairs located within or the front exterior stairs.

We're conveniently located in the heart of the Poipu Beach area. This is a resort area with many restaurants, grocery stores, and shopping located in a 1 mile radius. Poipu Beach is consistently voted as one of the best beaches in the U.S and has sections for snorkeling, boogie boarding, beginner and intermediate surfing.

In addition, we provide parking that is not on the street, high-speed Internet access, beach chairs, beach towels, and coolers, as well as the use of a laundry room that comes stocked with multiple machines, detergent and dryer sheets.

The pool that is pictured belongs to the Poipu Beach Athletic Club which is a 2 minute drive or a 10-15 minute walk away. Access may be available for an additional cost. Please inquire for details.

The Big Kahuna is a two story home with an amazing ocean view of Poipu Beach.

The bedrooms upstairs and downstairs are connected by an internal staircase and each have a separate entrance. The home is fully air conditioned for comfort and privacy. Berber carpeting in bedrooms.

The entire residence has Oak and LVP hardwood flooring. The 8 ft sliding glass doors in two directions provide excellent cross ventilation. Granite counters are in both kitchens and all baths.

Upstairs, the master bedroom has a queen canopy bed with pillow top mattress and Egyptian cotton linens, plus a private covered lanai with seating for 2. The master bath has a deep soak tub with two shower heads and double sinks. The 2nd bedroom has a queen sleigh bed with a pillow top mattress. The second bath has a deep soak tub and shower plus double sinks. The third bedroom has twin beds.

Downstairs, the master bedroom has a queen bed and a slider to the outside covered lanai. The master bath has a large deep soak tub and double sinks.

In the property are 2 large full kitchens with double door refrigerators, ceramic top stoves with ovens, full sets of pots and pans, dishes, glasses and silverware.

Our stay included 2 families plus grandparents. We had plenty of room for everyone, plus two kitchens! There is an ocean view. Walking distance to the beach. We had a wonderful time. The home is clean with plenty of kitchen accessories including dish soap and towels. Really a perfect spot in Kauai.

Beautiful rental

Checkin was a breeze, Kitchen well set up, we did not cook a lot. Ocean view from 2nd floor was a hit, close walk to a beach that was perfect for teens who like waves. Host very responsive to minor AC issue in one bedroom.

Very good overall. Some points to consider.

Could use better stocking of toilet paper, tissue, hot mitts for cooking. The light in spiral staircase is out. Consider adding dresser/drawers in twin bedroom - couldnā€™t hang everything in closet. Excellent location. Grounds well kept. Lanai is amazing! Very good stock of beach chairs etc.

Spacious House, Amazing Location!

Spent 8 nights in Kauai in this wonderfully spacious home. Lots of room for the 12 of us to spread out. Spent a lot of time on the Lanai in the mornings and evenings, can't beat the water view! And a short walk to the nearest beach, really appreciated the location of this house. Owner was extremely responsive and easy to get ahold of both before and during our stay. The woman working on site at the office was also incredibly nice and helpful! Would absolutely stay here again, a great place for a family vacation!!

Walking access the beach!

The accommodations were comfortable, and the upper and lower levels with stairs allowed our family to come and go. The only two things that posed issues were the parking, and the trash. We returned several times to find our allotted parking spots were taken by someone else. The trash is located at the back of the property, and by the end of our stay it appeared as though ours and everyone else was piled high and overflowing, flies and all. We enjoyed our stay. A short walk to the beach where swimming is safe and turtles rest on the shoreline.

Great accommodation for a family or group vacation. Well stocked with everything you need at home and/or the beach with plenty of room for alone time if desired. Location is perfect for walking to the local beaches or taking a stroll around town. Also enjoyed the beach club.

Nice house and great location

We loved our time at the house. It was clean and spacious and worked well for our group of 12. The kitchen items are lacking to be able to make meals for the family and we had to bring down items from upstairs to downstairs. And the grill needs to be cleaned. Great location and easy check in and check out. Now just waiting on our deposit refunded since we left it in immaculate condition.

House was adequate

Manager was very responsive when we had a problem with one of the air conditioners. Didn't think the photos of the property were a very accurate representation of the upstairs. Property needs some updating and care: curtains in upstairs were off the rod in places, kitchen faucet came off when in use. Was a little disappointed for the price we paid. Location was fabulous - you could see the ocean and walk to Poipu beach.

Wonderful house! So close to the ocean!

My family visited for 10 days and it was the perfect accommodation for our large group! The lanaiā€™s are wonderful to spend time outside. It is very spacious overall. The property is beautiful with so many Hawaiian plants and flowers. The perfect place for family photos. I enjoyed beautiful walks each morning in the surrounding area. You can get to the water in a 2 minute walk! The beach is walking distance as well! Poipu Beach is great including the park for kids! They even have beach chairs, boogie boards, a surf board, and coolers for you to use during your stay which is so convenient. Highly recommend this beach house!

Our family of 10 spent 9 days staying in this duplex. We had a wonderful time there. The house is very nice decorated, plenty spaces for everyone. Conveniently located- couple of minutes walking to the beach to see the turtles, sea lions and/or relax at the beaches. The property manager is very responsive to our questions and request. We are highly recommending this place to others for their vacation in Poipu Beach. We just love it and plan to go back again.

Beautiful House in Poipu

The house was perfect for our stay - we enjoyed having the 2 separate units. The 2 big kitchens, the sitting areas, the lovely bedrooms and laundry facilities made it all very comfortable. The property manager was easy to reach when we had a few minor issues come up. Wonderful location - close to the beach. Thank you!

Memorable Mom's 80th

My brothers took my mom on a trip of a lifetime and our family stay here was perfect. The stocked kitchen allowed for meals, the balcony was able to accommodate everyone and the rooms worked out well. We had a group of 12 and we made it work thanks to the abundance of air mattresses The location is perfect with lots of parking and a walkable neighborhood leading to the beaches of Poipu.

Great family vacation!

The house, both upstairs and downstairs units combined, was perfect for our family group of 9. The house and both kitchens were well stocked and the location was perfect- very close (but not too close) to poipu beach, Brennekes etc. If anything the online description understates the ocean view.

Sold on Kauai

The duplex accommodation filled all of our needs. The location was great. Dan was incredibly responsive to our needs and easy to communicate with. The only reason I gave it a 4 for cleanliness is that the wood floor could have been a bit cleaner, and there was normal wear and tear from a rental property. The location and space made up for it all, nd the beds were incredibly comfortable. We had 13 people in our group and enough privacy for all.

Fabulous Stay at Poipu Beach

Our family of 12 people really enjoyed our stay at this property. We rented both the top and bottom units. There is a nice view of the ocean from the top floor porch and the spacious living area on the top floor was a great place for the family to congregate. It is a very short walk to the closest beach (2-3 minutes) and 10 minutes to Poipu Beach. The property manager, Dan, and the management team were very responsive to our requests. We recommend using the optional Poipu Beach club for children (pool) and adults (workout facilities). We highly recommend staying at this property and the island of Kauai.

Amazing location and great space for multiple groups!

This property was set up perfectly for our extended family to all be together while still having our own spaces. The location was great - a quick walk 10 minute walk to Poipu Beach and a 15 minute walk to the Grand Hyatt. They were multiple boogie boards, beach chairs, beach towels and coolers for our beach trips. The property manager Dan was extremely responsive when we had a small issue the first day. Weā€™ll definitely stay here again.
