Excellent Accommodation

My wife and I are relocating to York. We had a gap between selling and buying houses and needed short term accommodation. We found this apartment which provided all of our requirements and is an ideal location for exploring York. The apartment is fully equipped, located on the second floor accessed by stairs and a lift. Communication was excellent. Can highly recommend. Good value

Amazing location

I stayed in this apartment for 6 weeks and would certainly recommend it, and Stays York. The location is unbeatable, so close to the centre of York that you can hear the Minster bells! The apartment itself is well outfitted with everything you need for a comfortable stay. I'd happily stay there again. Stays York is also a great company to work with. They are very responsive and helpful. I would book with them again.

Overall is quite good, but there have some issue on bathroom shower head，sometimes the hose is separated from the shower head when showering.

Lovely luxurious flat in a perfect location

Spotlessly clean and comfortable. Efficient and easy to adjust heating. Plenty of space and storage. Easy access, good lift. Pleasant view and quiet, but with the city centre just a few minutes walk away. Could have done with a few more basic kitchen items e.g. a second saucepan, scissors, a bread knife and coffee cups. But would certainly stay again.

Classy flat in a great location

This beautiful one bedroom flat is well appointed and very well cared for. The property manager was extremely responsive when we found that the batteries in the thermostat were dead. She was there in 10 minutes to take care of it. We would stay here again for certain.

Beautiful apartment

Our second stay in this cosy, comfortable, light and warm apartment. Easy check in, good lift and stairs area. Good view. Perfect location just a couple of minutes walk to Bootham Bar and plenty of shops Kitchen lacking some basic kit e.g. veg and bread knives, a few more cups etc. and on this stay there wasn't a single teaspoon! We asked about this at the StaysYork office, but although the person we spoke to was helpful she was clearly limited by not being able to contact the owner. Better/faster communication between owners and agents (StaysYork) would make the difference, esp. if the issue were a bit more serious than teaspoons!

A haven in a time of need

My husband and I stayed in this lovely, spacious flat for 5 nights in September. We were lucky to be there because we both got covid and stayed in to recuperate and isolate. The kitchen is basic and could be better designed (e.g., the microwave door opens backwards), but it was well equipped and served us well cooking every meal. We were especially grateful for the jigsaw puzzle, which kept us from losing our minds. We particularly appreciated that we came from New York to ‘old York’ and completed a puzzle of old New York. This was a great place to be sick, and would be an even better place to be well and enjoy what ‘old York’ has to offer.

More attention to detail

9 night stay had a poor start, when the front door access key code supplied by Stays York was incorrect. In the first 48 hours we reported staining to the sofa, a noisy air ventilation system (likely the vent filters need changing) and a flashing red light on the hive central heating thermostat, indicating that the batteries need replacing. Stays York provided instructions to disable the air vents for better night time sleeping and would arrange for inspection of the sofa by housekeeping after we vacated the apartment. Presumably Stays York will also arrange battery replacement. This was our second stay at Apartment 8 Bootham House and like previously, we found the accommodation quiet and so relaxing with all necessary facilities including oven, microwave, dishwasher washing machine and smart TV supplied. The pleasing views across to Museum Gardens via the large apartment windows represent a particular bonus.. Stays York provide detailed information about the apartments facilities in the file supplied and disposal of rubbish etc is straightforward. Bootham House itself is well looked after and the lift is always extremely handy. Must be one of the best locations in York.

One of the best locations in York

Stayed 7 nights in this lovely apartment @ Bootham House. Very minimalistic layout that we grew to appreciate over time, with little risk of breaking anything as a consequence. Extremely quiet with only occasional noise from other apartments in the same building. The common areas in Bootham House are maintained to a high standard and the lift is relatively new. The view from the large windows was much appreciated across to Museum Gardens and beyond.Smart tv was appreciated, though you will need to use your home sign in details. Negatives just a few and of minor importance. All 4 windows can be opened, but could be somewhat difficult for shorter people without access to say a small stool. The shower temperature gauge just needs tightening and the large spoons are really large. That said, Apartment 8 is a super place to stay and chill out.
