A Surfer's Paradise - Modern Playa Negra Beach Front Home

Casa Ola Perfecta (Home of the Perfect Wave) is an ocean front three level 5000+ square foot 4 bedroom 3 bath home decorated in Pura Vida (Pure Life) surf motif. This contemporary vacation home sits atop a 30 foot bluff directly in front of the world class surf break known as Playa Negra. The home boasts 3 large and very private outdoor living areas on each of its 3 levels. The home is a short 20 minute drive from Tamarindo airport or and 60 minutes from Liberia International (LIR).

The first living level has a large Cabana with a queen bed and couch, an open air kitchen perfect for entertaining, and a full bath. It is adjacent to an over-sized infinity edge pool with spa, slide, and custom lighting features. The pool is surrounded by 600 square feet of sun deck and a terraced grass area for sunning, and don't forget the hammock! A full compliment of patio furniture makes this the perfect place to lounge. From everywhere on the deck or within the pool or spa you have a front row seat watching surfers at Playa Negra or a spectacular Guanacaste sunset.

The second living level has over 600 square feet of covered deck. The interior contains 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths. (Master suite with it's own bath, a guest suite and the 'dorm room' which has 5 custom built teak bunks share a bath). A complete kitchen with stove, oven and microwave, an extra large living room and a dining room with seating for over 10 persons makes this the perfect house for large families or multiple families and guests.

The third level has an extremely private 1000+ square foot sun deck complete with chaise loungers. This area offers views of spectacular panoramic sunsets and unbelievable star gazing.

The house has 3 HD TVs, Sky satellite (similar to direct TV) and 6 SONOS systems so that you can play your favorite music throughout the house using the music on your favorite wireless device.

Rental fees are based upon occupancy.

We loved our stay!!! The house was perfect for relaxing and surfing. The views are amazing! The towns close by had mini markets and great restaurants. I would recommend getting a golf cart to get around. We will be back:)

This house and the views were spectacular. We came for a wedding celebration and enjoyed all our down time at the house. The pool area with the kitchen was wonderful! Cooking while enjoying the fiery and vibrant sky was a memory we wonā€™t forget. The Beach Grass rental company answered all our questions and helped with securing a boat for fishing. It was hard to leave such a beautiful place!

This house was awesome! I am a real estate rental agent who does this for a living in Nantucket, MA, so this was a great experience to our standard. Here are a few things worth mentioning:Double washer and dryer.Plenty of beach wraps/ towelsAwesomely equipped double kitchen Surfer friendly, board racks aplenty, convenient hose and outdoor shower placement, strong jets in the chill tub for muscle relaxation, awesome stash of old surf mags, and of course, the location looking right at Playa Negra take off. Family friendly with great game choices, double xBox, comfortable indoor spaces, and lots of beach&pool toys. Super helpful concierge! House has a great flow, and lots of safety features. Great for families, but can't wait to come back with the boys for a surf trip too!!

Truly is a paradise

This was such a beautiful property and location. The house is right on the beach and has beautiful views. Communication with the property manager was very helpful and we highly recommend this place and will be staying here again.

Amazing quiet location that you elliptical want to go back to.

Location and house is great. Quiet surfer beach, could walk about 1.2 miles south of house and a little bit north of home. Great pool, house needs a little love in some spots but overall highly recommend.

Amazing location in Playa Negra!

Not only is the property amazing, but the location can't be beat! Pool/Outdoor kitchen area is perfection. The property manager, Mary was so helpful and quick to answer any questions we had. Waves crashing and sunsets galore.....never gets old.

A surf dream

As a group of mostly academics, we were looking for some peace and quiet during spring break and found it here. The pool had a great view of the waves and we watched each other surf while floating in the pool with a frozen cocktail in hand. A very short drive to a truly delicious breakfast at Cafe Corazon, multiple good meals within a short drive or a beach walk. The enclosed upstairs provided plenty of A/C cool for us to lounge together and the rooms were cool enough to sleep comfortably, all of us coming from a snowy climate. One week went by too quickly!

Casa Ola Perfecta was simply perfecta. Space for all, entertainment for the teens, location was ideal. All recommendations from Mary (property manager) were excellent, La Ventana for catering, Lolaā€™s on the beach, adventure day at Rincon de la Vieja, boat tour at Palo Verdeā€¦ I would recommend staying here to everyone!

Perfect Choice

The staff at the house was excellent. Everything was exactly as described and exceeded expectations. A short walk to town with some incredible food and coffee shops. Our kids loved boogie boarding, the tide pools, surfing and returning to the pool after. This house has stunning views and I would absolutely stay again.

Great Costa Rica trip!

We had a wonderful time staying in this beautiful Oceanside house over spring break. The pool, the views, the outdoor kitchen and the Playa Negra area were all great! Our group had two families with 4 adults and 6 teens in total. The house worked very well for this size of a group. Also, the property manager and her staff did a terrific job helping line up some local activities, giving advice and keeping the house clean.

Great layout to enjoy as a group!

We were recently at Casa Ola Perfecta with a group of 10, celebrating a 50th anniversary. We loved the layout on the main floor with the pool, kitchen, dining and hang out area. We also enjoyed the access to the beach for morning beach walks and watching the surfers. We also really enjoyed the area. You do need a vehicle, but hidden gems were everywhere. We had the best ever french toast at Soul Shine and a wonderful celebratory dinner at Villa Deevena. Other nights we stayed in and cooked to enjoy the property.

Amazing Views

The property is absolutely beautiful! The pictures donā€™t do the views out justice. Mary was super helpful getting all excursions off the property booked. Also very responsive to any questions I had while we were staying at the house. The house is so spacious, plenty of room for our large group. The pool was perfect. The kids especially loved the water slide. Everything was clean and ready for our arrival. I canā€™t say one bad thing about the place.

We celebrated our 50th anniversary with family at Ola Perfecta. It was extraordinary! Mary was a delight to work with throughout the rental process -she is so thorough and reponsive. The house is exceptional..it is well equipped for families and the views are breathtaking. We all loved the pool area and star gazing on the third level. Kids loved the tide pools and going for smoothies and pipas at hotel nearby,. Sunsets were gorgeous. Truly Pura Vida

That View!!

We truly enjoyed our time at Rancho Playa Negra. The view was breathtaking and we all loved the downstairs pool area. Even though the house seems like it's off the beaten path, there were still some incredible restaurants within 5 minutes of the house. We ate at Kontiki twice! Their wood fired pizza was delicious and we also had the pleasure of dining at Villa Deevena which was delicious and had a great wine list. The house was beautiful and very well stocked. The pool temp was perfect. Refreshing but not cold. I could float in there all day! Lots of pool toys for the kids and the full kitchen near the pool was great for drinks and snacks. We really loved our stay and would highly recommend this property to all!

Paradise in Playa Negra

This is the place you never want to leave. The views, sounds, sights, weather all so spectacular. The pool is the highlight for it is large, deep (5') and perfect for cooling off during the hot day (90-95F). The beach is a short walk down a grassy slope; the shore is rocky with many cool volcanic formations, starfish, coral, and other flora and fauna. There is sandy beach for swimming just 100 yards away. The house is gorgeous and well suited for our group of 6 adults. You must drive everywhere on dusty or muddy roads to get to anything. Tamarindo is 30-ish minutes away and where much of the activities (e.g. ATV rides, turtle sanctuaries, good restaurants) are located.

AMAZING!

Cannot say enough great things about this house. The location is amazing. The house is gorgeous and extremely clean. The outdoor kitchen is a great way to prepare a meal while continuing to enjoy the outdoors and view. The pool has everything you need and more to have a fun and relaxing time. Super impressed with the outdoor living space. Security is really well done as well. We lucked out with some great surf on our stay. Checking the waves is as easy as looking towards the beach while you are having a coffee/beer. The property manager, Mary was super welcoming and available if we needed her however everything has been outlined for you in their property manual. Thank you to Mary and Chuck. We had a great time.

Great getaway

This property and location are great for a laid back, not-too-much doing vacation. The house is big and bedrooms separated nicely for privacy and sound. Lots of everything on hand...meaning loads of cooking utensils, and dishes/glasses, pool toys and towels...everything. Pool is great for adults and "landing zone" benches and stools in water make it easy for kids, even not great swimmer kids. The town is tiny, just a few houses, but it seems every other one is a restaurant! No shortage of easy to find places to eat and two well stocked mini-marts, too. You MUST have a vehicle as walking to things not an option, really. Beach is beautiful and only yards away. Good for wave walks, and tide pool adventures, some swimming in strong surf, as advertised. No real good snorkeling that I found off this beach. The only disappointment was Mary, the property manager. She was difficult to communicate with and not real helpful. Example on last day, when I asked, 'where should I leave the key?" ...got the answer, "Leave it where you found it" Not friendly or helpful. Other than that, a great place and a great vacation.

Perfecta Property, People & Ola's

My wife and I just finished an amazing 12 nights at Casa Ola Perfecta. Our vacation had one requirement, relaxation after a stressful year. My wife and I have been constant travelers all over the world for the past 16 years and hands down this was the most relaxing vacation we've had. Why you might ask? Unless you choose to play music, the only thing you hear are waves. Located on beautiful Playa Negra, you'll have a great surf break 5 min walk from the property, 5 more minutes and you have amazing swimming and a beginner surf break. You can also walk endless miles down beach to the north. If it's hot and you choose morning and evening beach, then enjoy the massive infinity pool and plenty of shade in the outdoor kitchen area. Yes the pool is as great as it looks. We did these things every day and that was about it, that equals relaxing! Mary the property manager is AMAZING! The communication with her was great, she offered some fantastic tips on local place to eat & coffee. She even arranged for flowers & a cake or my wife birthday! Her and Magaly (Housekeeping) stocked our fridge before we arrived and made that process so easy. I highly recommend this because the nearest large grocery is 35-45 min drive. The House, Very clean and has absolutely everything you could ask for in the kitchen (both of them). Bed comfy and so many towels linens etc. Can't say enough about the People, Beach, House and Community. This is Pura Vida! Joel & Wendy

Thoughtful Mixed Review

I was highly disappointed with the property manager, from incomplete responses to no response prior to arrival, that quite evidently, carried over to a vendetta that negatively impacted our experience. Upon check-in there was a parade of horribles, we were taken through the home and threatened with numerous items "if you break it, you buy it." As a fellow VRBO member I understand owners want to keep their properties nice, it is common knowledge if you cause damage, you are responsible. At this price point or any price point for that matter, owners are able to choose who to rent to and are fully aware if there will be families with children. I expect the property to be in good repair, clean, and management to be courteous and professional. If management is concerned that "children wet the bed" then mattress covers should be on the beds before arrival. I believe mattress covers from a hygiene perspective should be standard regardless of children being a guest. The lack of cleanliness was from mega trash at the head of the bunk beds between the wall and the bed, dirty stove, grill, torn sheet on bed, and significant disrepair. Probably none of this (and more) I would have focused on had the property manager been helpful, a pleasure to work with, professional and welcoming to my family. This property is located in an absolutely beautiful setting and we immensely enjoyed the views, watching the surfers, walking down the beach to get something to eat, and playing in the ocean!

Incredible beachfront house!

You should book this house now. We plan to return for a much longer visit because Casa Ola Perfecta is a fantastic beachfront property! We cannot say enough good things about it: from the stunning sunsets to the incredibly comfortable bedsā€”and everything in betweenā€”this place has it all. We loved hanging out in the pool, walking on the beach, eating meals outdoors on the main porch (we ordered from Jen at Cafe La Ventanaā€”highly recommend!), watching stars on the third level deck (just as stunning as when we go sailing!)ā€¦ you do not need to leave the house to have a perfect vacation. Some of the details: Mary, the property manager, is wonderful. She provided help with all manner of questions we had prior to arriving, then met us at the house to go over functional details (including how to work the jacuzzi bubbles and the pool fountains :-) ). She was also full of recommendations and set up a driver (Jefferyā€”who we also highly recommend!) to transport us to and from the house. After our airport pick up, Jeffery even stopped and waited for us to grocery shop at the large, well-stocked store in Tamarindo before driving the 45 minutes to the beach house. Having Maryā€™s help is a very valuable addition to renting this property, especially if it is your first time in the area or the country. If you are security-conscious, the neighborhood is gated with a guard and has a staff that patrols the property. You can secure your valuables in a safe (provided). These measures plus using common sense and following the often-shared advice for the country (do not leave important possessions unattended, especially in your rental car) left us feeling safe. If you happen to be a surfer, the house is called ā€œCasa Ola Perfectaā€ for a reason. Enough said. ;-) Again, we highly recommend Casa Ola Perfecta. Treat yourself and reserve it now! When you arrive, if you are curious about the house history, peruse the information book (full of helpful details!) and smile at the joy it clearly brought owner Chuck and imagine him catching a wave out front. Great stay

Ola Perfecta was true to its name. The location is unbelievable, views incredible, and local area magical. Mary, the property manager, was there to help us every step of the way, even when we had an injury issue. While there, we had Ben and Arthur come and cook us traditional Costa Rican meals, and even teach us how to make our own. It was a great adventure.

In 1998, I found this slice of tropical paradise. Two years later I purchased the lot. In July of 2002, Phase 1 of Casa Ola Perfecta construction was complete. In 2005 the Cabana, Infinity edge pool, outdoor kitchen and full bath were added. There is nothing better than to have a good surf or walk on the beach and come back and relax in the pool and watch the sets roll in set after set after set and the beautiful sunsets. Casa Ola Perfecta is Pura Vida!!
