Herdwick Croft offers a kitchen with a range cooker including a double oven, hob, grill and hot‑plate storage, along with a microwave, fridge freezer, fridge, and dishwasher. The dining room features a woodburning stove and seating for eight guests, the sitting room includes an electric fire and TV, and the games room has a woodburning stove alongside a TV, pool table and darts board. The bedrooms all have TVs and consist of a family room with a double bed and adjoining bunk room, a double with an en‑suite walk‑in shower, a four-poster double with an en‑suite bath and shower over, and a twin, all served by a bathroom with bath, shower over, basin and WC and a cloakroom. Outside, there is a garden with lawn and off‑road parking for four cars. Three well‑behaved pets are welcome, and children are welcome, but this is a non‑smoking property. Fuel and power and bed linen are included in the price, and towels are not provided. Within 5.3 miles you will find a shop, and within 2.1 miles a pub. Guests also have access to six passes for leisure facilities at a nearby hotel and spa, which must be booked through the owners and remain subject to availability. Town: An attractive village in the Northern Lakes, Bassenthwaite lies just a short distance to the north east of Bassenthwaite Lake, and retains its traditional rural feel, with a stream flowing gently on the outskirts, whitewashed Lakeland cottages, a pleasant vllage green and a real ale inn full of character! Bassenthwaite Lake itself, while boasting gentler scenery than others in the region, is still one of the most picturesque places in England. Places of interest nearby include Mirehouse, a grand house and gardens on the shores of the Lake with small open-air theatre (reputedly frequented by poets such as Tennyson and Wordsworth), Lake District Wildlife Park, and Dodd Wood. Most of the attractions of the Lake District are within easy reach and the quieter Northern Fells are almost on the doorstep. The nearby towns of Cockermouth and Keswick, both have weekly markets and offer a good range of amenities. The scenery of the Yorkshire Dales is within touring distance, as is the city of Carlisle and Hadrians Wall country.
