Luxury family friendly home within walking distance to Poipu Beach.

Honu House is located in sunny Poipu on the south shore of Kauai. This home was completed in March of 2019.
Honu House is an open concept home with beautiful koa wood floors and 10' ceilings throughout, boasts 2 master suites on the main level with plush king size beds made with luxurious cotton bedding, 50" flat panel Smart TV, walk in closets and air conditioning. The main master bathroom opens up into a large tropical outdoor lava rock shower screened with gorgeous tropical plants, featuring two shower heads.
Upstairs in the luxury bunkroom there are 4 queen beds all made with beautiful cotton bedding, an additional bathroom, 50ā€ flat panel Smart TV, two walk in closets and air conditioning. You will also find a private lanai with water views and a swing bed upstairs.
Every detail of this home has been carefully thought out and designed inside and out for the ultimate location for your vacation. The landscaping features beautiful tropical plants with gorgeous blooms and amazing fragrance to carry you into this tropical paradise.
The open floor concept great room is furnished with swivel love seats so you can be in on the conversation out on the lanai or watching the 70ā€ flat panel Smart TV. This room opens up to the large lanai with an 18 ft. glass nano door to bring the outside in. The lanai is furnished with comfy conversation lanai furniture and a dining room table that seats 8.
Steps off of the lanai you will find a BBQ and a 6 person hot tub.
The gourmet kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to make amazing meals with fresh island produce, fish, and many other exotic items that you collect from one of the local farmers markets. Mix up a batch tropical drinks with fresh fruit from one of the mango, orange, lime, lemon, papaya and guava trees on the property.
You are a 30 second walk from the best beaches on Kauai. Brennecke Beach and Poipu Beach Park host some of the best surfing, boogie boarding, snorkeling, turtle and monk seal sighting on the island. Beach chairs, umbrella, boogie boards, beach mats, towels and toys are all ready for you and your perfect day at the beach.
Need a break from the sand? Each guest (up to 8) has a membership at the Poipu Beach Athletic Club with swimming pool, fitness center, basketball, tennis, pickleball and much more.
We have been visiting Kauai for over 20 years and we have tried to think of every detail to make this home the perfect pick for you and your family to enjoy a trip of a lifetime and we hope you love it as much as we do.

This house and location were perfect for our family. Short walk to the beach to see the turtles each day, and beautiful sunsets. The house worked great, and the outdoor covered space was fantastic. The house also had several beach chairs which was extremely helpful. Loved our stay!

Simply Wonderful!

We recently stayed for the second time - both with family and friends. Honu House is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the Poipu beaches - just 1 block away. They provide everything needed for special cooking at home nights, to beach fun. We love the covered porch, outdoor showers and fully equipped kitchen. Can't say enough - the host is very responsive - thank you for another great stay!

Tina is an amazing host, and this is an amazing house! It's right around the corner from Poipu Beach, making it a great launch pad to explore the island. It's our second time staying here and won't be our last.

Amazing vacation

We stayed here with 6 adults and 2 kids. The house couldn't have been more perfect and far exceeded our expectation! Everything we needed was at our fingertips and the location to the beach was a perfect stroll for our group. The lanai is so comfortable and where we hung out when not at the beach. We can't wait to head back!

Amazing stay in Poipu!

We loved our stay at the Honu house. The house was amazing. My personal favorite was the outdoor shower in the master bathroom and the outdoor shower out front. Spacious, clean and well organized. The house had everything we could want for a vacation. Quick walk to the beach ! Perfect location.

Our favorite lanai

Oh, the lanai--connected to the house via the accordion door that opens the whole wall for real indoor-outdoor living. It's perfect for even a large group, with a comfortable seating area and a table for all to gather. The large bunk beds in the upstairs room were great for our group. And we made good use of the air fryer to avoid a hot oven in the kitchen. We would like to stay at the Honu House on every Kauai trip!

Loved the Honu House!!

Our stay was incredible! The Honu house had everything we needed and more. The attention to detail and the location received 5 stars from our family. The communication with the owner was great. Iā€™ve never stayed at a vacation rental that was as nice as this home. We canā€™t wait to come back and enjoy this home again. Next time we come it will be longer than 4 nights. Another wonderful stay

This property and its location are perfect. Works very well for family groups, there is plenty of space to spread out. Walkable to Poipu beach park and brenneckes even for a four year old. Great access to the green belt walking path. Gorgeous nature and sea life everywhere. The outdoor shower and hose out front are especially nice to get sand off after the beach. Lanai is just as wonderful as we remembered! Communication was good with host and the house was clean and well maintained. We would return a third time without hesitation.

Wonderful property in the heart of Kauai

This property was amazing. Perfect for a family trip. Great hangout area. Rooms are spacious. Small yard in the back. Shared with neighboring house to allow kids to run around and chase the baby chickens. Super close proximity to Shops in Poipu and short walk to Brenecke Beach. Access to poipu athletic club (two min drive or fifteen min walk) with great gym, pool, tennis courts, etc. If coming back to Kauai, will definitely book this place again

Perfect

We spent a week at Honu House over spring break and "perfect" is the word that comes to mind. The property is beautiful, well appointed and was exactly as advertised. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you will need and more. The location is a 3 minute walk to Brennecke's Beach (300 m away). Poipu Beach and Shipwreck beach are also within walking distance. Chairs, boogie boards and umbrellas (as well as wagon for transport) are provided. We will definitely be looking to stay here again on next trip to Kauai

This place is amazing. We walked to the beach. The view from the driveway will blow you away. The sounds of the waves will nestle you to sleep. We ate on the patio. Magical. Do bring your eye patches if you want to sleep in. It gets bright. This place is huge! Owner is super sweet and accommodating! We will stay here again!

A big thanks to Tina for answering all my questions promptly. She is a fantastic host! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home. (Our daughter and son-in-law honeymooned in Kauai 15 years ago so a celebration with the whole family this time.) We used the home as a base for adventure around Kauai. Your home had everything we could have thought of needing and the charging cubes were appreciated. We loved the location of the house walkable to the beach and with beach toys, chairs, and a wagon to haul everything to the beach.

Incredible home just a block from the beach!

What a home! We've stayed in many VRBO's but this one stands out! It's very new, well thought out, beautifully decorated, and a short walk from a great beach! Loved the huge sliding door, the awesome deck, the hot tub, and the dual outdoor shower! The home is perfectly designed for a big family or even two smaller ones. Nice touches everywhere like bluetooth speakers, beach gear (including a wagon to get it to the beach) charging cubes in every room, and even shampoo and conditioner in the showers. What a great stay!!! Hated to leave and would come back in a heartbeat!

Better even than you imagined!

The property is a dream in every way. As my wife said, ā€œit is the kind of place that makes you want to make your bed.ā€ Just beautiful in every respect. The glass doors that open onto the lanai and yard create an indoor / outdoor feel that is quintessential Hawaiā€™i. The kitchen comes fully accessorized for any kind of chef prep and you can entertain if that is your inclination. The outdoor shower in the master bath is also a uniquely fine experience. You will not be disappointed!

What a house !!!

We had a wonderful time at the HONU- HOUSE. Brandnew , perfect location with all amenities for a really unforgettable vacation on the island Kaua`i. Everything we saw on the photos was as described. Better......it became real ! The contact with Tina was super-friendly. A perfect host ,house, surrounding,...a more than well equipped kitchen and a living room with a flat screen which gives you a cinema feeling. we also enjoyed the outdoor shower, the extended living room when we opened the large windows from the lanai. Our stay was: to say it in one word : PERFECT ! P.S. Excuse my english : School has been 35 years ago :-)

Honu House

Incredible home for our vacation stay! Exactly what the pictures show. Beautiful home - well-equipped with everything you would need for a wonderful vacation - from kitchen appliances to beach accessories. Very comfortable home and the homeowner Tina French is kind and friendly. The home is one short block from the ocean - where you can see an amazing sunset every evening - and enjoy the turtles in the bay by day! Poipu Beach is an easy walk, about 5 minutes down the road. The home is equipped with beach towels, snorkel gear, boogie boards and beach chairs - as well as a wagon to put your gear in - and coolers too! We would highly recommend this wonderful, spacious and luxurious home that works well for families and/or friends. The lanai is lovely to relax on in the evenings - and the BBQ was put to good use, as well as the hot tub! Definitely five stars! Thank you, Tina and family!

I would definitely return!!

After staying several wonderful days at the Grand Hyatt, which was lovely in it's own right, we were thrilled to spend the rest of our vacation at the Honu House. I cannot express enough how perfectly appointed this home is. I cannot think of a single thing that was missing or that we needed beyond what was provided. Everyone in my family slept comfortably and we all had enough space to spread out. My kids, 10 & 7, loved the bunk beds! I especially like the above and beyond touches such as the robes and plethora of beach gear provided. I am SO thankful there were water shoes, because you definitely need them at the rocky beach at Poipu. I don't know how we got so lucky, but there were shoes that fit all of us! We used the hot tub every night after a long day of hiking or boogie boarding. Oh, and being able to walk to both Brennecke and Poipu was perfect. All I can say is this home is amazing and if we ever return to Kauai this will be our homebase again.

Honu House has it all! We were nervous about planning such a big trip but this home had everything we needed. With so many extras, we seemed to find something new every day. Our first night was welcomed by huge, comfortable beds- and we have very picky sleepers! The never-ending supply of fresh mangos was heavenly. Location couldnā€™t be topped with such a quick walk to beaches, but just enough distance and vegetation to feel privacy at home. There was plenty to do, even on lazy, no-agenda days. Our teens enjoyed finding lizards around the property, naming the chickens, talking to friends back home while hanging out on the swing bed, and of course the private hot tub. My senior had endless things to Instagram about like making collages with different flowers growing around the property, the artwork on the walls, or counting the variety of pineapple decorations in the house. There was no problem eating most of our meals at home in the well-organized, fully loaded kitchen, and most meals were eaten outside. The open floor concept really kept us connected. Family could be a part of the conversation whether they were relaxing on the lanai furniture, eating at the outdoor table, lounging on the swivel sofas, or cooking in the kitchen! What a wonderful place to vacation. Hope to return to this paradise when our next teen graduates!

Perfect Kauai Getaway Spot

We canā€™t possibly say enough about the Honu House that would truly capture how magical this place is! The house is immaculately well kept, clean, welcoming, and surrounded by lush greenery to make it feel like a true oasis. The location is amazingā€”just a short walk to the beach, and watching the turtles on the shore at sunset or the brightly lit stars at night are just a few of the highlights our group will be talking about for years to come. Itā€™s also the same short walk to hit the main strip that lines Poipu beach, with awesome food and surf/snorkel rentals and shops just done the road. We spent most nights on the porch, chatting and playing card games to finish up our night. We didnā€™t have any small children with us, but found that there is nearly everything you need to make your kids happy and keep them busy (games, boogie boards, snorkel gear, noodle tubes, the whole 9!) we cooked several meals as the house is equipped with everything and anything you need in the open concept kitchen. Our whole group enjoyed the outdoor shower because it is the most relaxing way to clean yourself up to get ready for a dinner or evening out. The mattresses also deserve a shout out because they were some of the softest, comfiest beds any of us had ever slept in. Tina and her team were always available by phone any time we had questions, and was quick to check in with us whenever there were any concerns. We also traveled during a tricky time (COVID) and Tina remained incredibly flexible and understanding whenever state-wide mandates were updated or changed. We honestly couldnā€™t say enough great things to truly capture the essence of this house, the location, and all the wonderful memories weā€™ll be taking home with us. Personally, one of my favorite touches was all the incredible art work around the house. If youā€™re lucky to snag a booking for this house, you wonā€™t regret itā€”thereā€™s nothing quite like it šŸ¤™šŸ¼

We live on the Oregon Coast. 1999 was the first year we visited the beautiful island of Kauai and we have been back every year since. We knew this was the perfect place to build a second home for our family to enjoy.

We have looked for years for the perfect lot to build our dream Kauai home. This property had everything we wanted. Walking distance to the best beach on Kauai, mature fruit trees and enough room to build a home big enough for us to bring friends and family to. We spent two years designing this house with the builder and his wife. We could not be happier with the end product. It's perfect for us and we think you will be delighted as well.
