It is great for a place to just sleep and shower. If you are looking to relax or hang this place may miss that mark. It could use some deep cleaning and updated pillows and mattress. There were not enough towels or pillows I would bring if you could. The neighbors are very very close to you. You can hear/see them from the main bedroom /bath. They have dogs and are up early.

Great location. We were slightly disappointed with the communication and the lack of salt/pepper and condiments. The drier was very squeaky and there was no detergent. The parking is for 1 car - no space for 2. Otherwise very clean

Great Location!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Home was in a great location. Although there were no ocean views, the beach was a short walk away. The house was clean and had all the amenities needed. Cute layout and very spacious kitchen. The only issue with the rental was the mattresses. Both mattresses were extremely thin with no extra cushion and no box spring. The stay would have been perfect had the mattresses been upgraded. More than a few nights on those mattresses was unthinkable. I'd recommend this property just based on the location, cleanliness and property management but I would insist anyone staying bring a thick mattress pad to compensate for what is available.

Pontos negativos: Check-in
Pros: The location is a 3 min walk to beach. It’s a quiet neighborhood. For the most part the house was clean. The beds were pretty comfortable. The balcony was spacious. Near stores/food.Cons: The carpet does smell moist when you get in the house but if you open up the windows it’s not a huge deal, though it would help to shampoo the carpets after each guest leaves. There are spot stains on carpet but nothing too big. Ideally you wouldn’t want carpets in a house near a beach. The water pressure upstairs is very weak. The downstairs shower is tiny and is not a comfortable shower. The balcony does have privacy because the houses next door are higher than this one, but I will say the neighbors rarely came out. If you arrive after hours it’s not like rentals that have the keypads to get in the door, you need to drive to the property management office to pick up the keys which can be a hassle after a long drive there. I will say for this property, their office is like a 3 min drive. You do have to return the key after also. You will need to take your own shampoo and body wash since they don’t provide any and I highly recommend you take your own toilet paper since the rolls they provide are worse that an elementary school. I think paying around 500 a night should come with at least decent toilet paper. Or at least charge the guest an extra 5 it takes to provide better toilet paper. Small details like this is what makes guest want to return. Overall: It was a decent stay.

Dangerous and Shabby

Fire dept came out when the carbon monoxide alarm went off; discovered the fire/smoke alarms were several years out of date; black ants in the kitchen; smelly carpet; no comfortable chairs; in general too plain and nothing to say "Welcome, we're glad you are here."The Location was the best.

Getaway

This place is pretty much as advertised. The only down side was that there is only one uncomfortable small couch to sit on in the livingroom, the other option is to sit at the diningroom table. If you are a young couple on the go and not spending much time here other than to cook, eat and sleep, this place is great.

I was disappointed with our stay. When we arrived, the house was not clean, we had to leave so the cleaner could come in. Several maintenance issues made the stay uncomfortable: the downstairs shower head barely worked and sprayed above everyone’s head, the upstairs shower had very low water pressure, and the dryer (located in the downstairs bedroom) made a loud screeching noise that prevented us from using it while in the house. The downstairs bedroom closet was unusable because it was filled with a futon mattress and stacked tables, leaving no space for our belongings. Many vertical blinds on the slider/front door were broken or missing. While the kitchen itself was clean, the dining area was difficult to use—only four chairs were accessible because the bench was blocked by the couch and coffee table. The upstairs slider, which is the only way to get airflow into the main living area, was also blocked by the couch and had to be moved each time we opened it. The balcony off the kitchen was covered in spider webs and debris, and the tree limbs hung so low we had to duck to step outside. The slider was extremely dirty and hard to see through. The upstairs bedroom was comfortable, but the entire house had only five hangers available.Overall, the location was nice, but the home needs significant maintenance to provide a comfortable stay. There were also several holes in the walls from missing décor, and the home would benefit from fresh paint and updated décor throughout.

Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We’re very sorry that your stay did not meet expectations, particularly with the cleanliness and maintenance issues you encountered upon arrival. We understand how frustrating it must have been to have to leave the home so the cleaner could return, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. We appreciate you bringing the shower, dryer, blinds, furniture placement, balcony, and other maintenance concerns to our attention. We are reviewing these items with our cleaning and maintenance teams so they can be addressed. We’re also taking note of your comments regarding the limited hangers, wall repairs, and overall décor. We’re glad you enjoyed the location and found the upstairs bedroom comfortable, but we recognize that these positive aspects did not make up for the issues you experienced. We appreciate your feedback and the opportunity to improve the home for future guests.

Good proximity to beach and coffee shop

The house is nice and quirky. However finding the entrance and opening of the sliding door was challenging. It is pity that the nice big terrace is not adjacent to the living room and we couldn’t use the balcony by the kitchen due to the overgrowth of the giant ferns 😅

Visit from UK

Great location. Walking distance from the beach and amenities. Can't fault it, really good. However, the property feels outdated, had an 80s vibe, and on arrival it smelled musty. Kitchen area was well equipped, but one of the bedrooms could do with some storage space and a mirror, as we struggled with storage. Bathrooms were fine, but again in need of modernising especially the showers. We enjoyed our stay but, unfortunately didn't match our expectations as we were expecting a little luxury as it wasn't cheap.

Thank you for your feedback and for choosing to stay with us. We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed the location and found it convenient for beach access and nearby amenities. We understand your comments regarding the property's older style. We take your feedback seriously and will look into updating certain features to enhance our guests' comfort. Killer Little Beach House!

Overall the stay was just what we needed! The house upon arrival was a little dirty so we did have to clean and for peace of mind wash all the linens provided. However, when I notified the property managers they were amazing in getting us what we needed. The homeowner has lots of no sand in the house signs so make sure to utilize the hose next to the first landing of the stairs. Aptos is a Gem and we definitely will be using Bailey Property Management again in the future. Make sure to go to the Aquarium and El Cantaro for lunch! If you like local beers and good food in Aptos we came to love a new establishment called Churchill & Beers Happy Beaching!

Good location, wierd layout

This property was close to the beach, but very poorly laid out. You went up a flight of stairs to reach the deck, which is where the main entrance was. Then you entered on the lower floor, which is where there was a bedroom and tiny bathroom, and you had to walk up narrow stairs to the next floor to reach the living area. The furniture was not particularly comfortable, but there was a nice kitchen. Temperature regulation was a problem; the bottom bedroom tended to be much colder than upstairs, and the entire living space was quite musty-smelling. We had to leave the windows open to get that smell out of the house, which tended to make it pretty cool inside. That being said, it did meet our needs.
