Shorebirds 55 has just finished remodeling the kitchen. This condo is a well-laid-out condo ideal for two couples, offering two king beds as well as two full bathrooms. With spacious common areas, and large couches in the living room overlooking the breaking waves of Monterey Bay, this condo is perfect for a weekend getaway or your next vacation. Enjoy long walks on the private beach and then cozy up with a glass of wine and a warm fire in the evening. This is a great place to reconnect with friends or family.

This trip was another amazing and enjoyable one at a beautiful property with outstanding views! Every summer we do a Mom/Son trip and this year we brought Gma also. There were a few kitchen supplies missing and not enough lids/large bowls but we made it work. Thankful for the opportunity to share a beautiful place.

Birthday weekend getaway

Had a wonderful two night getaway stay for my wife’s birthday weekend! The unit was well appointed, clean, spacious and amazing views of the sunset! Will be back again for sure!

We had a wonderful time at the property. Wish the sofa and beds were a bit more comfortable but other than that it was a great time.

Comfortable beach stay with lovely view

My family and I enjoyed a few nights here in this comfortable little unit with a lovely ocean view. Noting a few things I didn't read in the listing that might be helpful to others: the furniture has been updated from previous reviews. The couch and armchair appear fairly new and were comfortable. The kitchen has coffee beans and a coffee grinder, but a minimum of cooking essentials: only salt and pepper and a few other spices. The proximity to the beach is incredible when traveling with kids and we enjoyed our stay!

Had a great time and the view of the beach and ocean was great!! It was relaxing and calming with the waves crashing against the beach. Definitely going to come here again. Close to other activities too.

Mixed feelings over rating

Downloaded app to save check-in instructions. They are old and incorrect. Save the email you receive weeks before!Nicely remodeled and fantastic view from the living room. Great access to the beach. Furniture is newer and in great shape. Shorebirds 55 is a 2 bedroom, 2 king bed unit so it should be ideal for couples rather than families. Pots/pans, bowls, and linens were a step above frat house. Cheap aluminum cookware, worn out nonstick pans, mismatched bowls, only 3 placemats and one kitchen towel. Bathroom towels had to be at least 3 years old and frayed the full length. What a shame there isn’t attention to the details that would make the place as nice as the furniture, location and view.

Good and not so good

Overall it was a wonderful place to stay. However, the wifi is reallllly sloooow. And the living room furniture has holes and broken places.

Ok as homebase

Ok as home base but any activity (including restaurants) requires a long drive. Very remote. Highway 1 was a nightmare whenever we tried to go somewhere.

Pajaro Dunes celebration

The unit is in a great location, good view of the ocean ! Easy walk out to beach as long as you can handle a flight of stairs. Nice beach, not crowded. We enjoyed the location a lot. The beds and furniture are dated/older, pillows are not comfortable at all. The property needs some updating and kitchen utensils need to be replaced/ upgraded.

Back at the Dunes!

My mom had a condo at Pajaro for decades. We all-loved it so and enjoyed its unique vibe❤️. Have returned many times and always had a great relaxing get away. Thank you ! The condo was well outfitted and had everything we needed 😍. Yesterday we attended a lovely live music concert on the Pelican side. Fabulous!

Peaceful

Loved the view of the ocean as you walked in the door! Gray cloudy skies, but we were still able to take peaceful walks along the beach each day. Beautiful setting for my daughter and I to research our family history. When we came upon a roadblock in our research, we would stop and enjoy the view of the ocean or go take a walk together. Special memories made.

Beach stay

Pros: the location! Can’t get any closer to the beach. The beds were comfy. The kitchen was small but worked great for us. The cons: the sofa wasn’t very comfy. The master shower didn’t drain properly. We had wild weather….thunder, lightning and a tornado warning. Loved getting away with my husband and without the teens!

Relaxing

Pajaro Dunes has always been a special spot for us and once again it delivered. We had our grandchildren for two night and made wonderful memories shell hunting, fishing and just enjoying our time together. There is never a need to go to town. This unit is very nice and clean, the only down side is the living room furniture is basically outdoor furniture and not very comfortable. Kitchen needs lg bowls

Over all the Condo met our needs. Great views of the Harvest Moon out the front window and on the porch. Whales and dolphins too. Regarding cleanliness. A large stain found on the back side of the large green bedspread leads me to think what else I don't see that is dirty. Guest bathroom shower had areas of mold.Concerns about the water. We felt we had to go buy drinking water even though the warning in the kitchen indicated that was not necessary. Thank you for leaving a gallon of bottled water.Regarding comfort. The guest room pillows were very flat and hard. I should have brought my own but didn't think I needed to.There was only one wash cloth provided for 2 of us for 4 days so we found a place to buy more cloths. Ended up having to use the blue make-up cloths the first morning.. sorry.TV. No matter how much we tried to follow the multi-step directions on how to turn on the TV we could never get the TV on. Just wanted to watch the news. We love to go antique shopping and we used the guest book to get the addresses. We went to each one in Aptos and Soquel however there were no Antique shops...there were other businesses at those addresses. However we found other Antique shops elsewhere.

Shorebird 55

Thank you for a lovely stay at shorebird 55, the condo was perfect for our needs. The location is quiet and the beach is very nice, if your looking for a chill location. The Parjaro Dunes are so beautiful. The condo is set up with everything you might need for cooking & relaxing on the beach. I recommend buying food before. No shopping is available directly in the area. About a 20 minute drive to any shopping or restaurants.

Weekend get away

Our stay was nice. The place is lovely and spacious for the two of us. It has everything we needed as far as bathrooms stocked, bedroom & kitchen furnished. Livingroom had books to read and TV to watch. Although the place looks outdated and need some TLC it is still very quiet, peacdful and enjoyable. I loved hearing the ocean waves and looking out the window. However, i could not get comfortable on the couch, it definitely needs to be replaced, those cushions are not comfy at all. And i was very disappointed that the fireplace was not operational. That was the second thing i was looking forward to relaxing there with a fire lit watching the waves as the rain was coming down.

Return visit to Pajaro Dunes

I have now stayed at Pajaro Dunes 3 times. As usual love the beach and the spaciousness of the unit for a 4 night stay. The only things this time is the property lighting around our Building (Bldg B) was inadequate, including the lighting of the sign for all building. Secondly using the path from the staircase to the edge of the dunes had 2 covered sand-covered steps, that could not be seen but caused one of us to twist their ankle.(maybe a warning sign could have alerted us.) Also, WiFi for the multiple blgs was out for 3 days. This made any services (Amazon Prime TV, Pandora, etc unusable. and this outage was not caused storms.

I am being brutally honest But the ambiance is just not there. The electric heaters are rusted; the outdoor furniture doesn’t make it as a sofa and chair (uncomfortable); needs paint; and overall very outdated (bathrooms especially). Comforters are very ugly!!!! For a place as nice as Pajaro Dunes - this was a disappointment!

With updating this property could be really great. The master bathroom was almost disgusting—the laminate countertop was broken, the shower curtain was moldy and the toilet seat was far from new. The rest of the condo was ok, but there are no frills here and the kitchen is sparse. Towels were threadbare and for being a beachfront property there were two beach towels, two chairs and nothing else. New towels, an ice chest and some kids beach toys would have gone a long way. The view from the living room though was beautiful. This property is isolated and not close to anything, but very peaceful. Owner was quick to respond to questions at check-in.

Peaceful oceanfront stay

Spectacular ocean and dunes view, 2nd level unit with ramp access, enormous bedrooms, comfortable beds, pillows, linens. Clean with nice furnishings and extra touches like the jar of coffee beans. Plenty of hot water, electric heat, fireplace. Peaceful condo complex.
