Welcome to Abiding Place!

This conveniently located BEACHFRONT property has all of the modern conveniences you will find at home including but not limited to multiple TVs, DVD players, WIFI, stereo, a well-equipped kitchen with granite countertops and all basic appliances (brand new range and dishwasher in December 2020), tile floors throughout, large covered beachfront porches, an outdoor shower and park-style charcoal grill. Fresh interior paint December 2021.

The Gulf front Master bedroom with King sized bed has a private bathroom with jetted tub and beachfront deck. The guest bedroom with Queen bed and private bathroom is just down the hall from the Master and a second Queen bed can be found in the loft bedroom overlooking the living area. Additional sleeping accommodations include TWO Queen size sleeper sofas (newly replaced sleeper sofa in December 2020).

Abiding Place is located within the 'Gulf Beaches' area of St. George Island. This area extends 2 mile East and 2 miles West of the center of the Island. Local businesses, which include rental and gift shops, restaurants, pubs and more, are all located in the center of the Island. Our home is just a short stroll to these locations and the historic St. George Light, Lighthouse Keeper's Museum and Lighthouse Park.

This home is a non-smoking and dog friendly environment (we allow up to 2 dogs only, under 45lbs with advance approval and for an additional fee of $150 + tax.) Beach towels available!

Our home requires a Sunday turn day in Spring Break and Summer seasons; for all other seasons please inquire.

One of the bathroom shower/tubs did not drain, and wasn't very clean. Floors were sandy when we arrived. Furniture older and a bit worn. However, proximity to beach was great!

Anniversary trip

My wife and I stayed for a week for our Anniversary trip. The home was clean and well stocked with everything we needed to get started, and for cooking when we stayed in. We loved the beach front location and canā€™t wait to return.

Awesome Place!

We had a great time at Abiding Place. The location is perfect for riding bikes and golf carting to all the local restaurants and shops. The view from the living area was breathtaking! Can't wait to visit SGI again!

Weā€™ve stayed at this property before and loved it. Unfortunately we only got to stay two nights due to hurricane Helene, but the property was clean and we enjoyed the time we got to spend there. Hope to return soon.

Just what the doctor ordered!

We made last minute reservations for a quick family getaway after my mother-n-law's funeral, and our escape to Abiding Place was wonderfully healing! It was such a bright, happy beach house and the location was perfect! We are planning on making it yearly trip! Thank you!!!

Bday trip

This property is exactly like the online pictures! Right on the beach and a short walking distance to most things on the island. The property was clean, stocked, and easily accessible. The chairs setting out on the deck were nice quality and made relaxing on the desk a pleasure. During our stay a light bulb was out and the property owners called to see if we needed it fixed. Overall a great place to spend a nice vacation. Will definitely be going back!

Beach equipment was delivered, as promised. Very nice beach decor. We loved having our dogs vacation with us. Narrow, steep steps were challenging for our older guests, as was access to the bathtub in the master bedroom. Property is in need of updating, especially the kitchen, grill, and master bathtub.

Great Stay On The Beach @ St. George

My wife and I enjoyed our brief stay. The house is ā€œas advertisedā€ā€¦clean, nicely decorated and in good shape. Itā€™s conveniently located near the center of the island. All in all very pleasant. A couple of relatively minor and easy to address issues: 1. We could not get the ice maker to stop making ice, so the freezer had to be emptied every couple of days. 2. The front door to the house does not seal shut so it whistles when the wind blows. 3. The Wif-Fi needs to be upgraded, even with just two of us and a few devices, it was hard to stream on movie. Nonetheless, this is a nice house and has a great location.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: this house was fine. It seems like a lot of the row houses are not in great shape and haven't been very well maintained. I guess that's what you pay for. We found several bugs, the sheets had some fresh stains on them and the dishes were definitely not clean when we went to use them. the furniture was very uncomfortable but we spent most of the time outside. if you're looking for a place to spend lots of time on the beach it will do, but if you're looking for a really nice place to stay this place is just average.
