Welcome to Abiding Place!

This conveniently located BEACHFRONT property has all of the modern conveniences you will find at home including but not limited to multiple TVs, DVD players, WIFI, stereo, a well-equipped kitchen with granite countertops and all basic appliances (brand new range and dishwasher in December 2020), tile floors throughout, large covered beachfront porches, an outdoor shower and park-style charcoal grill. Fresh interior paint December 2021.

The Gulf front Master bedroom with King sized bed has a private bathroom with jetted tub and beachfront deck. The guest bedroom with Queen bed and private bathroom is just down the hall from the Master and a second Queen bed can be found in the loft bedroom overlooking the living area. Additional sleeping accommodations include TWO Queen size sleeper sofas (newly replaced sleeper sofa in December 2020).

Abiding Place is located within the 'Gulf Beaches' area of St. George Island. This area extends 2 mile East and 2 miles West of the center of the Island. Local businesses, which include rental and gift shops, restaurants, pubs and more, are all located in the center of the Island. Our home is just a short stroll to these locations and the historic St. George Light, Lighthouse Keeper's Museum and Lighthouse Park.

This home is a non-smoking and dog friendly environment (we allow up to 2 dogs only, under 45lbs with advance approval and for an additional fee of $150 + tax.) Beach towels available!

Our home requires a Sunday turn day in Spring Break and Summer seasons; for all other seasons please inquire.

One of the bathroom shower/tubs did not drain, and wasn't very clean. Floors were sandy when we arrived. Furniture older and a bit worn. However, proximity to beach was great!

Short but sweet

We’ve stayed at this property before and loved it. Unfortunately we only got to stay two nights due to hurricane Helene, but the property was clean and we enjoyed the time we got to spend there. Hope to return soon.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My wife and I stayed here for 5 days to celebrate our anniversary. The house is very well maintained and very clean. We lived that it was literally on the beach. Location was fantastic! It was on a quiet area of the beach, yet still very close to the bars, restaurants and shops. In fact we would be only a short 4 min walk on the beach from the Blue Parrot tiki bar, which we would go to daily. Try their “Sandblaster” frozen drink! Trust me you’ll thank me later! We even saw Dolphins daily while sitting on the sand or in the water right in front of our rental. We also saw sea turtles and a large Manta. It was truly a magical experience! St. George Island was rated the #1 beach in the U.S. and I definitely agree. The sand is like sugar and the water is clear with no rocks or seaweed. And you can walk out 50 yards and still be in only 4 or 5 feet of water. We absolutely love this place! In fact we have decided to make it an annual tradition for our Anniversaries.

The location is unbeatable—right on the beach with stunning ocean views. We loved waking up to the sound of the waves and having direct access to the sandy shore just steps from the door.The house itself was immaculate and exceptionally clean. It was clear that the hosts put a lot of thought into ensuring the home was well-maintained and welcoming. Every detail was considered, from the comfortable furnishings to the well-stocked kitchen that had everything we could have needed or wanted. Whether we were cooking a family meal, relaxing in the spacious living room, or enjoying a book on the deck, we felt right at home.The amenities were top-notch as well. We appreciated the fast Wi-Fi, ample towels and linens, and the variety of beach gear available for our use. The house also had plenty of space for our entire group to spread out and enjoy ourselves.One of our favorite parts of the stay was the breathtaking sunrises we watched every morning from the patio. It truly felt like a little slice of paradise. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a four-family reunion in 2 homes that were about 4 houses apart. Access to the beach was great! Beach equipment was delivered, as promised. Very nice beach decor. We loved having our dogs vacation with us. Narrow, steep steps were challenging for our older guests, as was access to the bathtub in the master bedroom. Property is in need of updating, especially the kitchen, grill, and master bathtub.
