The Maui Kai condo complex lets you enjoy the lovely views of Honokowai Point, tucked away on the northwestern coast of Maui. Small beaches are only minutes away on foot, and the sprawling Kahekili Beach Park is a mile to the south. Spend your days scuba diving or lounging on the shore, or stop by the shopping center and grocery store nearby to stock up on supplies. You can also venture south to Kaanapali for whale-watching, or stop by one of the pro-level golf courses nearby.

After a long day of exploring Maui, you'll love coming home to the Maui Kai's shared pool and hot tub. When you're ready to relax, towel off and return to your room to relax. Take a seat on the balcony and watch the sun dip beneath the waves, or stretch out on the bed and enjoy free WiFi and cable on the flatscreen TV. As close as you can get

The ocean is literally 20 feet away. Magnificent views, lots of whale watching from the lanai. Location is perfect to restaurants and activities. Great stay!

Whale watchers paradise

We had a wonderful stay here! It was hard to leave the lanai!! We saw multiple whales & turtles daily and dolphins once too! The unit was comfortable and kitchen was nice to use. My only suggestion would be to stock the kitchen with soup bowls and salt and pepper.

Location location

Overall we are happy with the property, it needs an upgrade to the bathroom ceiling and the outside door that is very rusty. Also the wicker should go.

Great place. Nice view. Very comfortable. Tv did not work even after management chgd cable box. Need more plates. We had to do dishes every day as we ate in 3 meals a day and did not want to run dishwasher for so few dishes

Stay if you like cockroaches and worn down condos

Yup, my wife's biggest fear in life was unlocked - cockroaches. It's honestly not overly surprising given how old, worn down, and rusty the building/unit is. The floors were quite dirty too. The host was easy to communicate with, but we didn't bother flagging the cockroach issue since it was discovered on our last night. The location is great right in front of the ocean (we saw some whales, which was cool). The cockroaches just ruined it at the end.

Probably Renovation in progress

The closet is full of construction material including grout. Bath room is in shambles. Floor boards broken and unsafe. Bed is hell. At $600 a day including all the additions, they charge in advance, I would never have taken this, if I had any information about this unit. Almost every business in Hawaii exploits tourists. They take money in advance and there is no way you can complain after entering Hawaii

Not the same

We have stayed at Maui Kai for many years but before in the units managed by the in-house company and the units were always well maintained. . This was our first experience with Vacasa. We stayed in 2 different units - in both the glass shower doors had been broken and not replaced, there was clearly a lack of personal interest in the units. For example: in all the other units there were complete sets of glasses - in 507 there was 1 of each type of glass? 1 wine glass, 1 tall water glass, etc. Weird. The sliding glass door had a significant separation and air came through someone had shoved paper in the gap between the glass and the frame. In 508 we arrived and the toilet was plugged before we even got there - slow flush - we blew a day of our trip waiting for a plumber. So - not a good review. All bad maintenance on the part of Vacasa.

Studio Not as represented

We love the Maui Kai however, unit 507 was a disappointment. Upon checking in we discovered that the doors to the lanai would not open. There was a sticker on the door stating "Do not open, door under repair." This was hard to believe upon our arrival. The studio was not thoroughly cleaned, stained bedskirt, stained draperies that were difficult to open and close, dirty floor (that we had to mop ourselves), shabby furnishings, under supplied kitchenware (coffee cups, wine glassses, short glasses, dull knives), broken coffee maker, and a mishmash of dinnerware. The shower had a cheap plastic shower curtain liner instead of a glass door as pictured on the website. Management did respond quickly to repair the lanai doors the next day (necessitating us to vacate the unit during the repair time of 4 hours), supplied a new coffee maker as well as needed glassware, and offered a compensation of 8% for these inconveniences. This unit could be greatly improved with a thorough deep clean, new glass shower door, and freshening of the furnishings. Otherwise, we would return to the Maui Kai and do not wish this review to reflect poorly on the property as a whole. We hope this review helps assist you in future management operations. The oceanfront view is fabulous.

Location!

This studio has most everything you need. Nice balcony view, quiet. Small pool is clean. Toaster, blender, coffeemaker. I appreciated the swim fins, umbrella & small cool pack for beach trips. Good climate control. Bed was softer than I prefer, but I was grateful the pillows were not feathers. Unit is a bit dated & needs maintenance: rusted door frames. Small bathroom has no exhaust fan & acoustical tile ceiling. Shower drains very slowly so you're standing in water.

Cute LITTLE condo

Overall, we really enjoyed this condo. The view is stunning and the location is top notch. We never used the kitchen so I don’t know if everything you might need to prepare a meal is there nor did we turn on the tv. The only issue we had was the fold out couch. Unfortunately, it was so uncomfortable for our daughter that my husband rolled it back up and slept on it as a regular couch. If we had been a family of 4, that could have been a problem. Also, I would like to see the fan over the toilet get a major deep clean. Overall, we would rent this condo again but likely as a couple instead of a family due to the couch issue.

Nice studio with gorgeous ocean view

I had a nice stay at this studio! Comfortable bed, spacious room, good location (close to food trucks and grocery store), and friendly staff and neighbor. One thing that may be an issue to some people but not others is that the wave sound was sort of loud and therefore light sleepers may need to bring ear plugs.

Great Location, Comfortable Room and Building

The view is incredible. Right over the water. We were able to watch whales breach daily. The bed is incredibly comfortable. It's great to have a full sized fridge/freezer, pantry/storage, microwave, and kitchen supplies. The building is quiet. The location has great beach access and the beach was not crowded because it's a bit north of most of the resorts. There's a great access to coffee, restaurants, and a grocery store within walking distance. Walls are a little thin between rooms, but not bad. We really enjoyed this room. Also good to note that the flooring has been updated since the picture shown here which was really nice as well.

Great View, Disappointing accommodations

The lanai and view were amazing. The room was disappointing. The furnishings were old and rusty. The rattan furniture was old, coming apart and the metal was rusty. Rust was on the light fixtures, doors and air ducts. The pictures were old as well in fact the one above the bed looked like a map that had been unfolded and put in a frame with no glass. The kitchen had mismatched items, dull knives and no steak knives. Two wine glasses, and three other glasses. When we go to Hawaii we spend a lot of our time in our room especially with an amazing view. We eat most of our meals on the lanai so a stocked kitchen is important. We made the best of it but will not go back to this unit. It would be easy to improve this unit with a trip to Target and rust removal. It is good if you want a crash pad with a good view. The bed was okay.

The View!

The view from the lanai was worth every penny spent. The unit was quite adequate for our needs, and the location was really convenient. Plenty of towels and basic cleaning needs. Overall, it was a great week.

Amazing views and the room was well stocked and comfortable. The check-in process was a bit confusing but the local staff was incredibly helpful when we had questions. The floors were a bit dirty but we were right on the water and it had a nice consistent breeze so that was likely just because of the wind from anyone entering and exiting the space.

Great condo in the heart of Maui

The condo has an amazing view of the ocean that tends to help us overlook some of the smaller flaws. The bathroom was a bit smaller and the shower area lacked a proper door, forcing water to spill out while taking a shower. The kitchen had all the plates, spoons and pans. It was missing the basic condiments, oil etc that we typically expect in AirBnBs these days. The whole condo was however maintained well and very clean. You get great sunset views right off the balcony.

The fresh wash cloths were right next to the toilet plunger. Actually touching the plunger under the sink. Bathroom was poor poor quality. Dirty a/c vents.

Great location!

This condo was a perfect location to explore different beaches north and south of the island. When we wanted to stay here, the quiet peaceful beach next door was a perfect spot to just chill. The views from the lanai were spectacular from sunrise to sunset! The condo was comfortable and met our needs for the week. The kitchen supplies need to be replenished (more glasses, coffee mugs, and cooking utensils). Also, the sliding glass door and screen were difficult to open and close. Simple things but we made it work. Would definitely come back!

Perfect Oceanfront Getaway

AMAZING VIEWS! We watched humpback whales from our lanai daily. Place was clean and bed was comfy. Great proximity to all aspects of the island. Only thing we would have like was if the rental provided snorkeling gear as the beach out front had a lot of great snorkeling opportunities.
