Charming Cottage on "best kept secret" lake- Lamoka

Welcome to our cozy cottage in the perfect location. Whether you have a busy family or are looking for a romantic getaway or time away with friends, this is the ideal spot. With two queen beds and one double bed in the 3 bedrooms, there is plenty of sleeping space. The single level cottage has a nice open floor plan with a living room and porch with dining and seating area that opens up to a deck with magnificent lake views. Only 2 steps into and out of the cottage make it easy to maneuver around. The fenced yard, level lakefront, and easy dock stairs make this great for families with children. The yard always has a nice mix of sun and shade.
The size of Lamoka Lake makes it just right for swimming and canoeing, due to the water warming quicker and being calmer than the larger finger lakes. Fish off the dock, use our lake frontage to enter the water for a swim, or put your boat in a few minutes away, at the boat launch, and tie off to the dock to enjoy water sports. There is a row boat and 2 kayaks for your use and enjoyment- we have an assortment of kid and adult sized life jackets. You can paddle right to Red Bank Island where you can swing off a tree rope, swim, and enjoy beautiful views as well.

Lamoka lake is centrally located in the Finger Lakes' wine region with several micro breweries and is 20 minutes from Watkins Glen, 35 minutes from Corning, NY, 20 mins to large grocery store for your convenience. Lamoka Lake is also connected to Waneta Lake through a channel so you can enjoy both lakes. There is state land with thousands of acres and miles of hiking trails within minutes, and it's only 20 mins away from Watkins Glen State Park with awesome gorge and waterfall hikes. Golfers would enjoy the 10 minute drive to two different golf courses in the fingerlakes.

Quiet roads and "off the beaten path" surroundings bring a peaceful, serene and relaxing feel to this vacation home. Enjoy waking up to incredible sunrises, fish jumping, relaxing on the deck, in the water, or in the shade all day and go to bed after a campfire in the fire pit.

We loved our stay at Lamoka Lake. The views were beautiful, the cottage was perfect for us, and it was easy to get to. I would reccomend this property to family and friends in the area.

We had a very nice stay. Cold the first few days, then nice the last. Went shopping, wineries, boating,walking and fishing. Neighbors are very friendly.

Fun for the five of us!

Our family of five loved staying at this property. The beds and pillows were comfy, the deck and yard are perfect, the rowboat and kayaks are so super fun, and that lakeside view and access is amazing. We enjoyed the smaller lake (compared to Seneca), and easy access to popular attractions. Staying at the property and enjoying a day at the lake was perfect too. Our week there zoomed by and we loved it.

Wonderful location and home!

This home had everything you might need but forget to bring. The rooms were comfortable, the beds and pillows were great, and the home was very clean. Wonderful spot for exploring Keuka Lake or just hanging out and having a campfire by the water.

Beautiful spot!

Cozy, comfortable cottage with perfect access to the lake. Fishing right off the dock was a highlight for our 11-year-old. Gorgeous view. The cell service is very spotty or unavailable, but the WiFi worked great.

Annual Family Trip

We've stayed here before and hope to stay again. We enjoyed sunrises, relaxing on the lawn, campfires, cooking on the grill, kayaking, spending time with family. We visited Crystal Valley Farm, Macgregor's, shopped in Hammondsport, ate at the BBQ place on Waneta Lake during sunset, and attended WGI. It was a jam packed 5 days.

Nice clean cottage...larger bedroom gets cold at night. Very nice deck and yard ,steps to lake. Lake was very low and alot of seaweed.Don't think the neighbors or the locals like renters. Not very friendly at all. Only friendly person was the young man at the lamoka lake gift shop. He was very friendly and made a sale because of it. Other than that it was a very relaxing week.

Can’t wait to return

Nothing fancy. Great for fishing , didn’t have an hour without catching something at the dock. Great kayaking. Very low water pressure in shower so time your showers accordingly! Very quiet, peaceful, beautiful. Watkins Glen is wonderful…. Good food and pier. Truly relaxing trip.

Comfy stay

As expected, the house is on the smaller side, but the open floor plan makes it feel more spacious. We also really enjoyed having the backyard on days it was too cold to swim. We played kubb and bocci. Kayaking/canoeing to Red Bank island was also a lot of fun. Overall, the house was perfect for what we were looking for, and so glad we found it!

Adorable cabin on a nice lake!

This is an adorable cabin on a nice lake. We love kayaking and this lake is big enough to have room to explore, but small enough to not be over crowded. We also very much enjoyed the dining area that looks out over the lake and the comfy couch for evening movie viewing. The only drawbacks are that it does not have central air. The window units in the bedrooms work great! However, there were a couple heat advisory days during our visit which made the afternoons pretty sweaty. Finally, the kitchen is reasonably stocked (lots of good bowls including mixing bowls and a nice set of knives). It could use with a second, smaller skillet. Thankfully, we did most of our cooking on the grill!

Week on Lamoka

Lake house was great. Right on the lake with access to a small boat and kayaks. All of the cooking utensils were well stocked. Hard water was a little unpleasant but manageable. Lake house relatively clean but there was some dog hair which was surprisingly considering it's a pet free rental. Overall would definitely stay again.

The beautiful cottage is comfortable and relaxing with a great view and wonderful yet unobtrusive neighbors. Lamoka lake is a hidden treasure. Nestled between much more populated lakes it is very quiet and laid back. Exactly what we were looking for!The hosts have really thought of everything. Just show up and enjoy. We did experience one minor problem... The remote for the Roku was missing. It wasn't a big deal to us as it was just something to do during a brief rainy spell. The host went above and a beyond to get us a new one. We couldn't be happier with our vacation rental and wonderful hosts. Looking forward to booking again in the future.

Cozy Lake Retreat

We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage. This place had everything we needed, including lots of extra blankets and an electric fireplace for some unseasonably cool August weather. We loved using the rowboat and kayaks. We had several backyard fires with the provided wood. It was nice to have indoor and outdoor seating for the variations in weather. Very homey, comforting, laid-back vibe that was perfect for the restful vacation we were hoping for. Our only suggestion is blackout shades for the primary bedroom. Thank you!

Nice cottage on the lake

We enjoyed our stay at the cottage on Lake Lamoka. It was the perfect size for our 4 person family and was an easy commute to the places we wanted to visit (Watkins Glen and Letchworth State Park). We did run into a sewage problem during our stay that was promptly addressed by the property owner. There are a lot of near by food options though we also cooked several meals at the home. The grill worked great. The feedback I would give and why I rated 4 instead of 5 stars is the place could use some refreshed supplies, ie kitchen essentials, towels, wash clothes, etc. and a thorough clean. Neither horrible but notable. All and all we enjoyed our time at the cottage!!

Great quiet get-away!

Nice cottage! Very peaceful while we were there.Owner Jean responded quickly to any questions we had. She was very helpful. Beds were comfortable. Rooms were all comfortable- ac worked well. The cottage was actually more open and spacious than the photos depicted. Clean.We had access to a canoe, 2 kayaks and a fishing boat with a solar powered battery.Husband and granddaughter also fished off the dock as well -caught numerous fish (catch & release). Great for families or a couples retreat.Neighbors very friendly and helpful. The Keuka Lake area Is beautiful and has many great wineries, craft breweries and restaurants. Nearby Champlin Beach on Keuka Lake was great for swimming.Only negative was trying to use the TV/it was a new tv but connection very slow trying to access Roku- but so much to do didnt miss it much. Finger Lakes June-23

We were very happy with the property. Very quiet, great location in terms of being on a lake and close to other destinations in the area. Very friendly neighbors. The only other feedback we have to offer - the owners have a dog (apparently). Two people in my family have pet allergies, so we specifically seek out rentals that don't allow pets, and this one doesn't. However, we noticed a leash and other items related to a dog in the house and dog hair on some of the blankets / carpets. Not a lot by any means, but it did bother our allergies initially. It wasn't a bad experience by any means or a deal breaker, we just would have preferred to know this up front (unless we missed it in the listing).
