Spacious English basement apartment with living room, bedroom, kitchen, bath and garden patio access in one of the best neighborhoods of DC. Shopping and restaurants in Georgetown one block away. Less than 30 minutes walk to the White House and the Lincoln Memorial on the Mall. Busses stopping just outside the apartment take you to Dupont Metro station in five minutes or Downtown in 15 minutes.

This English basement measures around 900 Sq. feet with windows in all rooms.
Large enough for 3-4 people staying, the bedroom has a full-sized bed, the living room has a sofa/daybed with an 2 twin beds.

The apartment is furnished and has a private entrance, fully equipped kitchen, A/C, washer and dryer, bathroom with steam bath, Internet, and cable TV.

No smoking, pets allowed

Place appeared clean but one of the comforters had dried food on it, and one of the wine glasses from the cupboard had a ring of wine around the top. Each day when we returned the place smelled like dog pee. After an hour with the fan running, the smell went away. The TV remote was filthy, covered in dog hair, and had to be cleaned twice. We didn't think the place was actually cleaned between guests.This rental was not the "entire home", rather a basement with the family living upstairs, with walking, hammering, dog barking and the smell of their dinner. Our second night, after midnight, the security system started beeping from a low battery. ADT did not have the location monitored, so we needed to get the owner to come down and turn off the system. This took a series of phone calls and texts, and finally the owner arrived (from upstairs) and turned off the system.On a positive note, the apartment is in a great location and was great having the day bed in the living area.

Great place in a great area!

This is what you always hope to get--nicely thought out and decorated, comfortable and well maintained. One caution--like most basement apartments in the area, the stairs down in are narrow and tricky. Leave the porch light on when you go out in the evening!

Location, location, location!

Best thing about this place was location. Easy access to Metro to get to DC. Walkable around Georgetown and restaurants off Wisconsin Ave. Dispute the extreme heat.

Nice Location

Quaint downstairs lodging conveniently located close to a Metro bus line and walking distance to local restaurants. The only downfall is limited street parking and signs can be confusing as to where to park to avoid a $100 ticket. We enjoyed our stay overall.

issues with beds and stairs

The only reason we gave the property four stars instead 5 stars was because of the following 2 reasons. 1. The apartment is in the basement. There are very narrow and dangerous stairs to walk down at night. I would recommend to the owner that he install a motion detector light at bottom of stairs. You can forgot to turn on the outdoor light when leaving during the day And grab bars to use when walking down the stairs.. 2. beds. The description was accurate but the experience could be improved by replacing the futons in the bedroom with a king size bed. Most occupants will be couples. Otherwise an excellent choice when staying in the Georgetown area.

Dropping off Daughter at Georgetown

This is the perfect location for visiting Georgetown. We were dropping off daughter for her first year at Georgetown and this apartment was perfect. Very close to campus. Very safe neighborhood. Plenty of space. Full kitchen. Laundry services. Clean apartment. We hope we can stay again on return visits. Georgetown is a great walking city with plenty to do besides the university. Also apartment is close rock creek park with beautiful trails.

Perfect Georgetown place to stay.

Cozy place to stay. Great location with easy access to sights using bus and metro. We brought our dog and I throughly enjoyed my daily walk through Dumbarton Oaks Park. The neighborhood was full of historical homes that were spectacular to look at.

Location location location

The location is unbeatable! It sits on a quiet street only minutes from the hustle and bustle of Georgetown. The drawbacks for us were the lack of heat in the bedroom and attached bathroom. It was COLD! A space heater was a MUST with the nights dropping down into the 20s-30s. Also, we did find quite a few ants under the daybed/floor/and table in main living space. They were small and harmless, but still a little unnerving when your sleeping right there. Lastly, you can hear the people who live above this unit. It is an older home with wood floors and we could hear what seemed to be a gathering of people Friday evening and the TV along with the footsteps when they move about. Overall- we enjoyed our stay and the charm that Georgetown has to offer!

Lovely Georgetown location

Located near good transport for exploring Washington DC. A good selection of shops and restaurants within a short walking distance. Great communication from the owners before and during our stay. Would recommend especially if you are there for Halloween as the area is decorated beautifully.

Extended stay in Washington

We enjoyed our three-week stay in Washington immensely. The location for access was excellent. The D2 and D6 bus line literally at the front door. Other Metro and Circulator routes two blocks away. The Georgetown neighborhood was delightful. The well furnished and updated apartment was very comfortable. Two minor cautions. The wood floors and busy street might trouble someone sensitive to noise. The access to the garden level was not a problem for us (octegenarians) but could be a challenge to anyone with a handicap.

Wonderfull basement in a Georgetown townhouse. good high speed internet but needs better coverage in the bedroom. Nice kitchen, AC makes a lot of noise, water pressure a bit low

Lovely Georgetown apartment

Our stay was great! The space is nice and spacious and the location is wonderful--an easy walk to all points in Georgetown, and the bus stop right out front was very convenient. The hosts were very responsive. It was a perfect home away from home for us and our two doggies. 😊
