Mountain Cabin Escape – Secluded, Cozy, and Close to Canaan Valley

Tucked away in the woods, this charming mountain cabin is the perfect romantic getaway or an ideal retreat for two couples. Located just minutes from Davis and Thomas, and close to all Canaan Valley activities, you'll enjoy a peaceful, nature-filled escape while still being near adventure.

The cabin's floor plan includes a primary suite on the lower level, an additional primary suite on the upper level, and a cozy living room and kitchen on the middle floor, ensuring both privacy and togetherness.

Relax in the private outdoor hot tub, unwind by the wood-burning fireplace, and take in the cabin’s beautifully mountain-themed decor.

Bedroom 2: Queen

Winter note: 4x4 or AWD required for winter months.

All Canaan Realty guests enjoy complimentary access to the Mirror Lake Recreation Area (just 2 miles away), where you can enjoy fishing, canoeing, swimming, hiking, biking, and more. Gear (including canoes, pedal boats, kayaks, SUP boards, life jackets, and oars) is provided at no extra charge.

This was our 6th year renting Bear Brook. Great place for a weekend trip. Fireplace and hot tub are a big draw for the place

Lovely home

This is our second time staying here and it never disappoints. We were a little concerned about the warm weather bc there is no AC but the cool nights made it very comfortable. Love the hot tub and the privacy!

The house was very nice. It has everything we needed and more! The only thing that kept me from giving 5 stars is the upstairs barhroom shower had low water pressure. Not a huge deal, we all used the basement shower which was fantastic.

Great property close to everything

We enjoyed our stay and it was within an hour of all of the things we had planned… enjoyed the hot tub and views. Very easy check in and our process and everything was as described. Neighborhood is big but this house feels very private which we loved.

This place was clean, cozy and only a short drive to town and black Waterfalls. Very nice hot tub. We enjoyed our time very much and plan to come and stay here again sometime.

Perfect getaway

We loved this house, the hot tub, the two full bedroom suites and the location. Everything was perfect. The only negative was the internet. It was very slow and sporadic. Overall it was a great getaway for us. Truly enjoyed the area and Blackwater Falls State Park.

Great Vacation

The cabin and included amenities made it feel like home. Great view, great location. Simple check in process. We loved Mirror Lake. We would have stayed another week if we could have. Highly recommend!

Wonderful home!

This home is welcoming and well equipped. The decor is lovely and furniture is comfortable. The home is very clean and kitchen is well stocked with dishes, plates, cooking utensils, etc. This is a convenient location with great views.

Pleasant get away

My niece and I vacation together once a year. This property is well appointed. Kitchen had anything you would need. Upstairs shower was slippery and could be made safer. All in all a lovely place to stay. We enjoyed the serenity.

Beautiful secluded home

The husband and I had a wonderful stay at Bearbrook over New Years. This home was the most equipped home we have ever stayed in! The hot tub was amazing! We did have a mouse problem (kept us awake at night and ate some of our food) but figured that was not uncommon given the time of the year. Would absolutely stay here again!

Great quiet spot in the mountains

The property had everything one could need. Cooking supplies and dinnerware were great. The house was beautiful and had 2 great decks. The shower on the first floor was great. Hot tub was great. Definitely will be coming back.

Peaceful place to stay, great location

Very nice place to stay. It has a lot of space for the two couples that went, we each had our own bathroom and bedroom areas as well as a spacious cozy living area and kitchen. The view outside in the wooded lot was very relaxed and we could hear the brook running nearby. The hot tub was very new and clean. It was also located in a good central location to our destinations we were visiting, Blackwater falls state park, and seneca rocks. Would definitly recommend and come back.
