We are so excited for the 2026 summer season. Boating and swimming has reopened! Western North Carolina has bounced back beautifully from Hurricane Helene, and the lake's serene charm remains. Come experience the natural beauty and tranquility that this area offers. Lake Lure is truly beautiful in every season. Our home, Summer Wind, on Edwards Point, provides space where your family can take full advantage of a peaceful oasis. The town of Lake Lure still has excellent amenities to offer, such as, golfing, hiking trails, 5 restaurants, and a grocery store. Come unwind besides our firepit, play games with the family, and enjoy the beautiful mountain air. Pontoon boat rental is also available!

This charming lake home has an open kitchen, dining and family room. Perfect for hanging out after a day on the water. Only 5 minutes to Bald Mountain Golf Course, Rumbling Bald Resort on the Lake, Buffalo Creek Park and Youngs Mountain hiking areas.

There are three bedrooms and two-and-a-half baths on the main level and a full size futon and twin futon with bath on the lower level.

This 1935 lake house is in a spacious, quiet cove with a gently sloping yard to the water. The double slip-covered boat dock with 450 sq. ft. deck has beautiful views of Rumbling Bald Mountain. Drive right up to the back door, plus very few steps to the lake. Great lot.....Great lake home!

2. Please lower umbrellas. Remove paddle boards, kayak, canoe and floats from the lake and place on the rack.

3. Take all trash to the top of driveway & secure in garbage cans. Failure to do so will result in a $25.00 reduction to your damage deposit refund.

Property is very clean and location can’t be beat. Staying here is more akin to a bed and breakfast instead of a Vrbo (obviously no breakfast) as the owners are truly committed to making sure you have a great stay.

Perfect spot on Lake Lure to relax! The end of cove situation and available pontoon boat rental make this home stand out, as well as the truly easy access to the dock and boathouse from the house and the friendly hosts. We’d love to come back and stay again. Thank you!

Jon and Gail's place has an incredible view of the lake and mountains from the dock, and you just may also see osprey, eagles, heron and deer (as well as fish) while you are relaxing out there or using their canoe (we did). The house is very clean and has all you need for a great time with friends and family. We especially appreciated Jon texting with us to let us know about some local construction near the dam ( that did not impact our stay one bit) - just in case.

We had a great time and a wonderful stay here. The house and cove it sits in are great. The hosts are easy to contact and immediately helpful with anything you need. The neighbors were great too! Told us where the best restaurants on the lake are and where to watch holiday fireworks.

We had a wonderful family stay at this lake house and really loved the location. The house sits level with the water, which made getting down to the lake and dock incredibly easy. It’s located in a quiet cove with a large dock, and renting a pontoon was simple and convenient. The house itself is very roomy, with a great open layout that gave our family plenty of space to gather, eat, and spend time together.There are a few areas that could make the house even better. Although it is listed as a four-bedroom home, the sleeping arrangements were not ideal for four private bedrooms. One of the bedrooms does not have a door, so there is very little privacy, and the basement sleeping area was not very comfortable or practical for sleeping. We also would have appreciated more lounging furniture for a house designed to accommodate a larger family or group. The yard and some areas of the property could also use a little more attention and upkeep.Overall, the location and waterfront setup are the biggest highlights. Being level with the lake, having such a large dock, and enjoying a peaceful cove made it a great place for our family to spend time together.

We had a wonderful time at Jon and Gail's home. Someone mentioned in another review that the pictures didn't do it justice and that is so very true. The house was easy to find but be warned, the driveway is very steep. The parking area at the bottom is flat and we had no trouble parking five vehicles. We were a group of three that grew to nine by the end of the week. It was great being steps away from the lake and we spent most of our days at the dock using the kayak and canoe that comes with the house. Although there are other houses nearby it still feels like your private oasis. The house was well stocked with everything you could need. Just bring your food. The beds were comfortable and the rooms spacious. Morning coffee for everyone was always on the deck to enjoy the lake views. We have stayed a few other times in Lake Lure and this has been our favorite house. The host are friendly, knowledgeable and very responsive. We are hoping to return again next year.

Lake stay

Great times had by all, enjoyed the location, nice quiet cove, used the pontoon, learned to paddle board, went kayaking and canoeing. Used the fire pit, close to Chimney Rock

Great Stay!

Lake Lure

Wonderful getaway!

John and Gail were incredibly responsive and helpful hosts! My family had a wonderful time at this lake house and enjoyed evenings on the boat, visiting Chimney Rock and disconnecting. We will be back!

Family Vacation.

Most everything you need for water activities is available.The house is perfect for family gatherings.You won't want to leave. A very well equipped kitchen.It is a very lovely place in a beautiful setting.

Lovely Family Vacation!

Gail and John are wonderful owners! They were very helpful with our stay making sure we had everything we need. Our girls loved all the water toys. Canoe, SUPs, Kayak and more. The view from the dock was beautiful! A great vacation

Peaceful Retreat

The house and property were just what we needed to unplug and reset. The views were beautiful from the dock. The Bellows’ were wonderful hosts and supplied plenty of games and SUP for guest use. Chimney Rock Village was close and a great place to walk around with good local restaurants. We would definitely stay here again.

Lake life is wonderful!

We enjoyed our week at this cozy home with great access to the lake. My elderly parents were able to walk to the lake every day enjoying the view from the dock. The deck upstairs was nice and shady on days when it was hot and sunny. We think our dogs enjoyed it the most chasing balls in the water!

Beautiful lakefront property.

Property was exactly as pictures presented it. There was every "water toy" available and house was well equipped. The owners were responsive and easy to work with. Our family and fur babies had a wonderful time.

Family Fun

What a great vacation. Everything we needed was provided. LOVED the waterfront and beautiful views, and use of the paddleboard, kayak, pedal boat, splash pad, and also rented the pontoon boat. Made great memories! Saw deer in the yard. Even the dogs loved it. Thank you for a wonderful week.
