One of Folly’s Best! Me The Sea and Bobby McGee is the perfect oceanfront location for those looking to soak up the sun! The expansive split level deck is perfect for sunbathing, reading, and dining while taking in the panoramic ocean views. It is just over a mile from Center Street, Folly's bustling main drag with eclectic shops and restaurants. You are close enough for a walk or bike ride but far enough to enjoy the peaceful retreat. Utilize the private gate on the side of the home to access the public beach access boardwalk right next door. You have found your B.F.F. - Beach Front Folly home!

This 3 bedroom 2 bathroom home fills with natural light from the large windows throughout the home. The house is decorated throughout with original watercolors by local artists and a long-term tenant. The living room provides plenty of cozy seating and in the winter, guests can snuggle up by the gas fireplace. The full kitchen makes meals a breeze with the included dishwasher. The sunroom provides panoramic views of the ocean. It is the perfect spot to eat breakfast while watching the sunrise or take a cat nap in the sun’s warmth. The master bedroom features a queen bed and ensuite bathroom. The additional bedrooms each provide two twin beds and share a Jack and Jill full bathroom.

Me The Sea and Bobby McGee allows up to 2 well-behaved, house-broken, flea-treated dogs with approval. Please include the breed and size of your dog when you inquire. The rental includes two onsite parking spaces. All photos are current and accurately depict the property. Please book with confidence. This property is licensed by the city of Folly Beach as a vacation rental - License Number LIC000172. Because of the potential for fraud, we would not recommend booking a property not licensed by the city of Folly Beach as a vacation rental.

Great beach house

This is a great beach house that is close to town but far enough away that the beaches aren't crowded. We would definitely stay again.

Me and my girls

Rounded up my daughter in laws and daughter and we did a girls stay at Folly. The home was perfect for us and our pups. Quick access to the beach, town, and a beautiful porch we spent the evenings looking at the Milky Way.

Perfect location right on the beach

Location and view from deck are great. House needs some TLC, but overall comfortable and gave us what we were looking for (some quiet beach time).

The hoist stop by UNANNOUNCED, at the midpoint of our visit, with a some what suspect story that she had a part for the coffee machine! The two bathrooms were only accessible by going thru a bedroom, no powder room.

Very Nice Property! Great Stay!

This is an excellent property to rent. It is exactly as advertised and very well supplied. We rented the house to celebrate moms 80th birthday (she lived on folly beach 60 years ago) and we wanted her to have a wonderful time at the beach-mission accomplished. The owner was great to work with. Very highly recommended!

We are thrilled that Julie and her family had a great birthday celebration at our house and we could be a part of some Folly Beach memories. Fall rentals give us a little more flexibility and her family was able to stay an extra night than they had planned. I'm glad they still had a good time since it rained ALL day of that extra day!

Amazing views

The property is dated and could use new furniture. The rugs in the house were old and worn out. The view and deck are the main reason we picked to stay there. And it was a Beautiful deck area!

Outstanding spot

Wish there were more of these in the World. This spot has a phenomenal ocean view (unencumbered) and takes pets. We enjoyed our time there very much. That said, it could be even better with a little love and maintenance - still, and outstanding spot if you can book there.

Wonderful location but over priced and very dated. The kitchen was well equipped and the house was in a great location. Master needs a new mattress STAT. We could’ve stayed at the Ritz for a week for what we paid for three nights at this house, but again the location was great. Folly is awesome and we love the all the quirky beach bungalows, but this one pushed those limits. Very, very dated.

Beauty of the ocean

Our first visit to Folly Beach, SC. This property is adjacent to the boardwalk out to the beach, such easy access. Enjoyed the sun room that looks out onto the beach and collects up the warmth of the sun all day. Handy outdoor shower under the house and a hose which was great for cleaning sand and salt off our dog after daily romps in the surf. I am missing our time there already. Only drawback to the property is that two of the three bedrooms have twin beds. Not so good if you have two couples vacationing together.

Loved our time here!

We spent 4 nights in this lovely home, it was clean, the beds were comfortable, we found everything we needed in the kitchen, some days were cold and raining and the heat and the fireplace made it quite cozy and warm, then one day was 76 and we opened the windows and doors and listened to the surf. A great location, close enough to easily walk to town, far enough that we felt justified in having tacos when we got there. And far enough that we hardly saw anyone else at our end of the beach. We spoke with the owner many times prior to leaving, they were unfailing nice and helpful. We were a party of 4 adults with very different interests and likes and all of us would go back to this house and recommend this house to others. It was perfect, I'm certain we'll stay here again.

FANTASTIC!

We have stayed in many beach front properties over the years and this is by far, the best one! The house is clean and furnished nicely. There is plenty of room to spread out or all hang out together. I spent the majority of my time on the beach (just steps away), on the large deck, or in the awesome sun room. We had three teenagers with us and they enjoyed the close beach location and easy access to town in the golf cart we rented. Anna has thought of everything. Very cozy house with a fantastic view. I started missing it the minute we had to pull away and head back home.

I'm so pleased this family had a great week at our house. Since we have been using HomeAway, we have enjoyed hosting families from all over the country, and abroad. It's a pleasure to meet them and find out what brings them to our lovely city and beach. I hope they will return very soon!

Beach vacation before back to school

We really enjoyed this place. The private back deck was amazing. The house was so close to the beach access. The kitchen had everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable. It Felt very home like. Few things I would say in the fix column would be about updating the appliances. Our TV box wouldn't work in the master bedroom, however they did promptly bring us a Roku stick and resolved the problem. I would have liked the smart TV option in stead, like the kids had in their bedroom. Was very spacious and comfortable and would recommend.

It’s a beach house

My wife and I stayed for 5 nights and had a fantastic time. The weather was phenomenal so we were on the beach or on the deck all day and into the evening. Bedrooms, bathrooms and ocean view dining area were great. The only drawback was the “common area” and fireplace furniture - it felt like a disjointed hotel lobby with too much big stuff. Keep the couch in front of the fireplace but perhaps some brighter /lighter furniture would make indoor time much better. Otherwise - this place is great.

Home Away from Home

One cannot ask for a nicer home to enjoy on the beach! Charleston is only 20 minutes away but we really never wanted to leave our beautiful beach cottage. All of the amenities are here - an upscale kitchen, deck for dining or reading, luxurious linens and a sun room with fabulous beach views. The decorations and artwork in the home give it a very cozy and personal touch that we especially appreciated. Also, hanging out at the beach was so easy with a collection of chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards and towels to choose from. The owner is extremely attentive and goes out of her way to provide add'l info when asked. She really knows how to make a vacation rental feel like "home". Thanks so much for the wonderful memories - we can't wait to come back!

Homeaway has brought us so many nice families from across the country and it is a pleasure to get to know them as they plan their beach vacation. It is easy to provide extras and additional info when you know the families will appreciate it. We realize many of our families are flying in and cannot pack everything. However, I cannot take credit for the boogie boards. I think each family this summer has left at least 2! Thanks again for the kind words.

Great location, perfect home layout

We love Folly Beach in the winter! It is so wonderful to explore a beach town when it’s at its quietest. This home sits on a road behind the main drag, right in the beach so all you hear is waves and no road traffic. With a big deck perched high enough to see over the dunes and a screened in porch, there are plenty of places from which to enjoy the view. It was just two of us but the set up would be great for families or group of friends.

Wonderful house and location, but obstructed views and congested public access

My family and I really enjoyed our stay at the "Me The Sea and Bobby McGee" beachfront property. The kitchen and baths were updated, though small, and there were enough nice, white towels and toiletries for all of us. We also appreciated the variety of seating to enjoy each other's company, the artwork, and the views. I selected this property because of the split-level deck and the beach access, but the screen on the screened-in porch was ripped, and there were not enough umbrellas to go with all the nice patio furniture. We let the hosts know in the check-in message on the first night, but never received a response. Moreover, the shrubbery overgrowth around the property was not as maintained as the photos led me to believe, and obstructed the beachfront view from the deck. I also did not realize that the nextdoor beach access was through a public parking lot and boardwalk, so there were people passing through all day long. Finally, we were expecting to use the outdoor shower pictured on the listing, but the gate was locked and we received no information on how to access the area. Instead, we bought a bucket to use as a makeshift option. Regardless, we had a wonderful time and liked the house and its location.
