Wahoo -

Wahoo is a classic Grayton Beach property, located in the quiet community of Gulf Trace. Only ¼ mile west from the heart of Grayton, the home offers casual comfort for family gatherings. This 5 bedroom, 3 bath home sleeps 11 guests, with 1 king bedroom, 1 double twin bedroom and queen sofa sleeper in the living room upstairs, and 1 twin, 1 double twin, and a queen bedroom downstairs.

The home has an open floor plan in the main living area, and a large screened porch with plenty of seating so the entire family can enjoy the gulf breezes and listen to the rolling surf, just 250 yards away. Relax by the private pool that offers lots of pool chairs, loungers and a snack table with 4 chairs for outside dining or playing any of the many games available for guest’s to enjoy. In addition, there’s an outside shower for the convenience of rinsing off the beach sand before entering the home or pool.

- Queen bedroom with hall bathroom (low lip shower only)
- Double twin bedroom with hall bath, shared with other twin bedroom
- Twin bedroom with shared hall bath (shower/tub combination)

SECOND LEVEL (Main Entrance):
- Open kitchen
- Living room with queen sofa sleeper and large flat screen TV
- Dining area with seating for 6, 3 additional bar stools and a small game table with 3 chairs
- King bedroom with hall bathroom (shower/tub combination)
- Double twin bedroom that shares hall bath with king bedroom

Peaceful and great

We had a great time at Wahoo! The neighborhood is quiet and the beach wasn’t crowded. The water was amazing! The house was big enough for everyone and close to shops restaurants and the grocery store. Would stay here again!

Wonderful Family Home

Great house for a larger family. I love the separation of the bedrooms upstairs and down and the screened in porch was our favorite place to hang out during all of the storms.

A Family Oasis

Wahoo was perfect for our family get-together. Everyone had enough space to enjoy ourselves. The kitchen is well-appointed, the laundry was appreciated, and the pool was our favorite evening spot to unwind.

Affordable and Clean Stay

Don’t be fooled by the price, Wahoo is a well maintained and appointed gulf home that is a 3-4 minute walk to the beach. Beds are amazing. Slept the best in years during my stay. If you’re looking for a great value in Gulf Trace, check out Wahoo. We are planning to stay again soon.

Comfy Little Get Away

Everything was great! Very spacious home, was great for our party of eleven. Definitely agree on one more bed possible being a queen but we made it work for everyone! The pool was just great for the kids!

Our family of 10 stayed here and totally enjoyed. We did not even use the pool as we were at the beach most of the time. House is very comfortable and screen porch is so inviting. We have already booked for next year.

Great location but…

Plenty of space, kitchen was stocked with necessities outdoor seating was exceptional. The night we arrived there was a large roach in the kitchen. We contacted management company and they treated the next morning. We continued to see roaches throughout our stay.

Disappointing

The check in process did not mention the key pad is upstairs not downstairs. There is a lock box downstairs that does nothing. It was a needlessly frustrating check in experience. We paid for pool heat. It was freezing the entire time and unusable. It was also filled with worms. Disgusting. They should consider screening in the pool. This was a huge disappointment. We did not get to use the pool at all during our stay. There were also cockroaches. Large Palmetto bugs in the living room and smaller cockroaches in the bathroom and in the dishwasher. The location and beach were awesome. These other occurrences made us not want to stay here again. I would appreciate a partial refund to make up for this.

Good value

The house is generally good; the the price was very good. Some updates are needed, and (IMO) at least 1 more bed room should have a queen bed. The neighborhood is fantastic with only a very short walk to the beach.

Okay accommodations - needs updating

The house needs some updating, there is no bathtub which makes it difficult with small children. The pool was an nice feature and the screened in porch was great. The grill was charcoal and difficult to use.

Better than Expected

I was unfamiliar with this area when booking and it couldn’t have been more perfect. It took us minutes to walk to the beach and the pool was clear and perfect after our day in the sun. Plenty of space for everyone to be in the common area and the kitchen had a pantry to put food in so counter space wasn’t cluttered. Random tables throughout allowed for puzzles and games to be ongoing through our week stay. I will miss coffee on the screened in porch, listening to the waves. Hope to someday return.

Best location for having small kids!

This has been the best home rental off 30A so far. Family with two small kids 1 and 3, so when people say “walkable” to the beach I’m always skeptical bc I have small kids lugging a ton of crap so my walkable is not other people’s walkable:). This house was actually walkable. We never once had to get in a car to drive to some overcrowded beach. It’s literally a block and you don’t have to cross 30A. Then once to the entrance to the beach you can do some stairs which is normal or you can walk just a little further to have level access to the ocean, meaning you can pull your wagon if you want straight out onto the beach. As you can see these things are important to me at this stage in my life. Also, the pool was great! The water was perfect, not too warm and a great space for the family. I loved how it had secured gate all around the pool with lock on gate bc I have small kids. The house fit great for my family of 4 and my mom. It would have even held a whole other family bc we didn’t use all the rooms. The screened in porch was awesome! You could even hear the ocean on a few days bc it was rougher waves. House has some small quirks but nothing worth mentioning. The layout was nice and communication with managers was easy. The neighborhood was nice too. Felt a bit tucked away but close to so many great things if you wanted. Would stay here again for sure.

Wonderful time with family!

Our large family came for the week and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. 4 minute walk to beach is VERY accurate. Property could use updated fridge (our ice cream and popsicles never froze) and the screen porch was nice but seems to be coming apart in some places but overall we were very pleased! Pics are exactly like property! Will stay again!

Wahoo summer trip

Our family has been coming to 30a for almost 10 years, love this area. Have stayed at the “wahoo” many times and have always had a great experience. The house is always clean, full supply of everything we’ve always needed, convenient and easy access to the beach and just a few minutes drive to dinning and shopping. See you next year! Thanks!

Private secluded with all the amenities of your own home.

Was a very relaxing and peaceful neighborhood. The house was well equipped with everything you needed for your stay including laundry facilities, well equipped kitchen, several areas to intermingle with others or enjoy the solitude. A very short walk brings you to the white sands of the Gulf, or simply walk to the back yard and enjoy the pool while grilling your meal. A treat for our great grand daughter and great niece arrived by way of the ice cream truck and the joy of seeing them react to a truck with ice cream was shared by our entire party. If you crave a little more excitement their are several near by areas bustling with people, shops, restaurants, and activities to attempt. Will definitely keep this area in mind when booking for another trip to the Gulf. We had members from 4 generations under one roof, with ample room to accommodate everyone with plenty of room for all.

Big house, bigger issues

The house is spacious and has multiple beds for large groups. It is very outdated but that wasn't a big deal to us. However- we had issues with wifi-couldn't access it during the week. This is an issue when people need to work. The a/c went out downstairs. We found multiple roaches. We understand that all of these things happen. Our issue is that we called and emailed multiple times starting the day after we arrived. No one would return our calls or emails. We heard back on Friday evening-the day before we left. Not acceptable! My husband had to repair the a/c-it was easy and not a big deal but that isn't the point. Wifi was an issue the entire week. When we finally heard from them they asked what we felt was appropriate for reimbursement. We asked for the 2 days without a/c refunded-2 nights. They refused, giving us 10% back which was half of one nights stay. Considering we were also without wifi the entire week, my husband repaired the a/c, and the lack of communication, we felt this wasn't appropriate. They refused any further refunds. *Note-when I booked this house for our families, I noted that 2 people would be working and would need dependable wifi. We were told that wouldn't be an issue. This is the first time of booking many houses/condos etc with VRBO over the years that we have had such an issue. It certainly makes think about how we will book next time.

Our family vacation

Wahoo was perfect for my family. We had plenty of room, lots of kitchen space and everyone loved the pool. We had 9 people there most of the week and no problems. The only drawback is that you cannot see the ocean, but it such a short walk getting there is easy.

We love Wahoo

This is our third year to stay at Wahoo. We love it so much we go back every year! Gulf Trace is a quiet neighborhood.You may even see a deer when you drive into the neighborhood. The beach is low key with plenty of spots to put up your umbrellas or tents and stay the day while the kids swim in the lake or ocean. Wahoo has everything you need when you return from your day at the beach~a porch to play cards, a kitchen to shuck oysters and prep shrimp, a pool for the kids to play in, or plenty of bathrooms and hot water to rinse off for your family bike ride to Seaside and beyond. The leaving instructions are some of the easiest I've ever seen; just pack your things and go after starting the dishwasher. We love wahoo!
