Welcome to Crosswinds Cottage

Beautifully renovated beach cottage with private pool located on a quiet garden lined (minimum traffic) street, 4 houses from a direct beach access and a short walk to the center of town, restaurants, and fun!! Come relax with us and enjoy your stay.
The cottage has an open floor plan, tall ceilings and a warm costal farmhouse feel.
New to 2022, is a beautiful custom kitchen, with generous timeless touches, and island seating for entertaining!!!
4 bedrooms, 3.5 baths that sleeps 8 comfortably. Enjoy a sun filled day on the beach and a relaxing evening dining and lounging at your private pool located in the backyard, its also gated for safety and fenced for privacy, there are plenty of lounge chairs and patio set for dinning. An out door shower bath area where you can conveniently rinse off the sand before you hit the pool or entering the cottage. Plenty of rockers for front porch sitting under the cooling fans, while listening to the crashing waves. (Stairs are gated for safety) There's a fun swing for your little ones, and a regulation NBA basketball goal on concreat for those sport enthusiasts.

*The cottage is located one street down from a newly built accessible handicap beach ramp, with a beach mat for easy pushing of wheeled chairs.
We are located 4 houses from a direct beach access point.
Amenities – no smoking or Vaping on premises, pool, NBA regulation basketball goal on concrete pad, lounge chairs, outdoor shower bath area (hot and cold), patio sets, porch rockers, kids swings, 5 cable TVs, Internet access, DVD and VHS player in each room, washer/dryer, dishwasher, Gas Grill, (No personal grills, or cookers allowed) crockpot, microwave, ice maker, high chair, pack and play and more!
Bed & Bath linens are not provided, we recommend Angie’s Linens. Please contact owner for more information.

We love Crosswinds Cottage! The cottage is cozy and we truly feel like we're at home. The kitchen has everything you could need. We loved the multiple outdoor spaces. We swam in the pool every day! The house is decorated so nicely. We appreciated the wagon for lugging things to the beach each day (which is just a short walk from the house). We definitely hope to return!

We are local to the area but had family from another state wanting to rent a beach house. We LOVED this place! Pictures don’t do it justice. Beautifully decorated, comfy beds, and 4 houses from the walkway to the beach. So much outdoor living spaces that we never even used the family room! The biggest bonus is the pool - when sitting on the sand gets too hot, or it’s too crowded, to have your own pool with plenty of seating and lovely landscaping is priceless!!!! FULL BATHROOM BY THE POOL AREA!!!! We loved this place so much that my husband and I might rent it just for ourselves in the off season. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Good Times, Family Fun

Loved staying at Crosswinds Cottage, such a great family beach house. I had stayed here several years ago and it was great then too. Only this time we were fortunate enough to meet the homeowner who is so nice and considerate to her renters. Also, we had the opportunity to enjoy all the renovations that had been done since our last stay. This is absolutely a little piece of heaven on earth. The pool and the outdoor space is incredible. Looking forward to staying again!

Incredible Stay!!

We had such a wonderful and relaxing time at the Crosswinds Cottage. House was so beautifully decorated. We felt right at home. Very clean and had every convenience imaginable. Any minor concerns we had during our stay were answered literally within 2 mins and I spoke directly with the Heather. We can not recommend this place enough and will definitely be booking our trip next year at this same exact cottage.

Love the house and location! Curtains in front bedrooms would be wonderful addition due to how bright the rooms get at 630 am and unable to sleep in! Other than that was perfect!

Perfect Vacation Home

We have been coming to Ocean Isle Beach for the last 20 years. With grandkids this year, we decided a pool would be nice. Crosswinds Cottage did not disappoint! The house is beautifully remodeled and decorated. There are several outdoor areas for hanging out and eating meals. Close and convenient access to the beach. Great communication by the owner. We hope to return next year!

Perfect week in OIB!

We loved our stay at Crosswinds Cottage! The house is in a perfect location for a quick walk to and from the beach. The amenities that are included with this home are plentiful, especially the kitchen! The decor is amazing, not like a typical beach rental. We loved our stay and plan to stay here again. Bedrooms had perfect bed options for our 8 guests and we had plenty of room inside and out. Can’t say enough good things about the owner Heather, she is a wonderful, positive woman and a great communicator!! Thank you for sharing your home with us!!

Clean, convenient and fun vacation home!

The cottage was the perfect place for our families. The home was clean, comfortable and homey. What really stands out about this house, however, is the outdoor area. There are beautiful and updated decks on both sides of the home. The pool is very large for a beach house, and the deck and seating areas are also spacious and well maintained. The kids loved the swings, sand area, basketball goal, and the life size connect four game. The house is a short walk to a beach public access point, and only a few minutes drive to the center of the island. A great stay!

Perfect!

We have been coming to OIB for over 20 years, and this was our second stay at Crosswinds Cottage. It is perfect! Love the location, just steps to the beach. Lots of outdoor entertaining space. The pool is a nice option when not at the beach. Also, perfect for when the grandkids are napping. The house is beautifully renovated and decorated. The updated and enlarged kitchen was a huge bonus this year. Heather is a wonderful host. Very attentive with great communication. I'm sure we will stay here again!

Wonderful stay in an amazing house!

This is our 2nd year in this house and they continue to make updates. The attention to detail throughout is amazing. There is so much outside space with different seating areas that we spend most of the time outside. The kitchen is a little small but they have started to work on expanding it and we can't wait to see how it turns out. The kitchen is well stocked and we found everything we needed. Heather is always great to work with and very responsive. We highly recommend this wonderful home.

Best cottage ever

What a wonderful property + owners. The pictures of this property do not even do it justice! The best rental I’ve ever stayed in for so many reasons! The owners are amazing and super responsive and helpful. We loved this place so much!!!! The home is so cozy, very kid friendly (we had a 10 month old, 1 year old, and 5 year old), the house is incredibly stocked especially the kitchen area (never seen a rental have so much!!!), the walk to the beach is a breeze, the pool was amazing, and the outdoor bathroom is a DREAM.So many great thing to say about this property! Our family keeps growing, but I can only dream of staying here again!!! Fabulous trip at the most fabulous cottage on OIB! We certainly fell in love <3

Terrific!

Our family really enjoyed the cottage! Communication with the owners was fantastic and they have a well stocked and beautifully decorated home!!! Great outdoor living spaces as well as a really short walk to the beach. Easy to go back for lunch or the bathroom. The outside shower had a toilet and sink!! Great so you don’t have to run upstairs when you are enjoying all the amazing features. We hired a private chef to cook a special birthday dinner and there was plenty of room to celebrate! We had a great time and will definitely come back if we are in OIB again. Thanks Heather for a truly great experience!!

Best stay on vacay

Loved our stay at "Crossroads Cottage". The floor plan worked out great for our family, giving us all the privacy we needed. Only a short walk to the beach was so convenient. The pool was a real hit with my five year old granddaughter. As soon as we arrived she jumped in. I will never forget the look in her eyes when she looked at me and said "Nana - you picked the most perfect beach house". I loved the fact that their was so much seating space rather you were enjoying the pool or relaxing rocking on the front porch. We had the time of our lives. This was our first vacation at Ocean Isle Beach and we really loved the cleanliness of the island and the wide open spaces on the beach!! I definitely plan to return to "Crossroads Cottage" in the future.

Perfect Family Getaway

WOW! In the 17+ years my family has been renting beach houses, this is the best one! The house was immaculately clean and SO well stocked (like literally the best stocked kitchen ever). The location was perfect: a short enough walk to the beach that we could run back and forth multiple times a day with toddlers in tow, on the most beautifully landscaped street & the beach wasn't crowed. The outside furniture & pool were perfect for sun & shade lovers alike. Don't even get me started on the outdoor shower: I'll dream of it for years. The beds were all super comfortable. To top it all off, the unique design of the house really made you feel like you were staying somewhere special. Thank you to the owners for making this wonderful property available. We loved every minute!

Very nice outdoor spaces

The property is very nice. Updated. Great outdoor spaces. The interior is also updated very nicely. Great beach access. The only downside is the 4 bedrooms share 2 small bathrooms. It wasn’t a problem for us since we are all family but I didn’t notice that on the listing when we booked. The third bathroom is kind of outside under the house. The ceiling fans need a cleaning and the grill was dirty when we got there. I understand that if no one tells the owner then they don’t know. We would definitely stay there again. A local friend visited us and said she would consider booking for her out of town family when they came to visit.

Perfect week in OIB

We absolutely love Crosswinds Cottage, this is our second time staying here but our first since the major renovations! The kitchen is just amazing, so easy to maneuver around for family dinners. We had 7 staying in the cottage this time around. So much outdoor seating for coffee, conversations or a nice glass of wine. The outdoor shower and bathroom is the best, I never showered inside the whole week. We also celebrated my husbands 50th including friends who were staying in other houses. We had a private chef come in and 11 guests, it was the perfect space to entertain! Heather is wonderful to communicate with and a truly special host. We have been coming to OIB since 2015, it is such a special place. Next year can not come soon enough!

Perfect beach house, super clean, great location

I can’t say enough about the cottage. We loved every part of this vacation. OIB is beautiful. It’s the perfect family beach, not overly commercialized but still plenty to do, places to eat and shops. Heather is amazing. She was always immediate with her responses, nice and super helpful. The cottage was the cleanest rental I’ve ever stayed in. It was stocked perfectly with every kitchen tool, appliance, beach chairs, floats, and games. I don’t think there was one thing we needed. The house is so close to the beach and a handicap beach access which is great when you’re pulling a wagon of kids and a wagon of beach chairs, toys, cooler, and umbrellas. The house sits on a road that has very little traffic which is awesome if the kids want to ride their bikes in the road. The location is also great because you’re close enough to ride your bike to the pier, putt putt, ice cream and restaurants. The pool was super clean and an amazing bonus. We spent the first half of the day at the beach and the afternoon at the pool. I love this house and the location. We will be coming back for many years to come. We made some precious memories at OIB May 2019 ❤️

Crosswinds Cottage at OIB

Wow, what a beautiful week at OIB in NC! The weather was amazing and so was our beautiful Crosswinds Cottage! Great kitchen remodel and love the island where the family could hang, eat and enjoy each other! The pool is a must with grandkids! The property owner is VERY quick to respond and so easy to work with. We have been coming to OIB for 27 years and the last 3 yrs have been at Crosswinds Cottage and we will be booking early to ensure us another week at Crosswinds in 2023! Best beach house on OIB!!! Thanks Heather for everything-

Hello we are the Buckley’s , Kevin, and Heather
We have two babies, Ellie (golden retriever) and Carly (Irish setter). We live in Virginia at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains, skyline Drive, and Home to Luray Caverns. My husband (now retired) grew up in this area and I am originally from Pennsylvania, we’ve been married for 30 years and have been coming to OIB ever since.

We have been dreaming of owning a beach home for 30 yrs. It was only natural to purchase a piece of paradise in OIB, our home away from home. We have looked at many houses until one day stumbling across this diamond in the rough, and fell in love with her immediately. Now we are making our own family memories!
