Ka Makana is a gorgeous home located in Hanalei town, at the end of a quiet cul de sac and is a short walk to Grandpa's @ Hanalei Bay. Less than 5 minute to the beach, this house is the ideal location for family vacations. With a screened in lanai, beautiful furnishings, super comfy beds, you won't want to leave!

There are two bedrooms with King size beds and the third bedroom with a Queen size bed. The living room furniture is all from Restoration Hardware as is the mattress/bed in the master bedroom, new linens throughout, new kitchen lighting, newly remodeled bathrooms, and much more!! Downstairs in the garage there is a ping pong table for afternoon playtime after days at the beach or island exploring. PLUS air conditioning throughout!! You won't want to stay anywhere else.

Ka Makana is managed by Stay Kauai, a boutique property management company located on the North Shore of Kauai. Our goal is for each guest to feel special and to leave with a true sense of aloha. We take pride in the fact that we use all eco-friendly products in our homes and stock each house with fresh fruit, Malie Organic amenities + other island goodies. In addition to booking your vacation home, we are happy to assist you with booking any and all activities for you at no extra charge! We can book zip lining, boat tours, luaus, surf lessons, in-house massages, private Pilates/yoga classes, surfboard rentals, bike rentals, stand up paddle boards, and much more! We live here so we know the best tour guides, charters and vendors on island. Let us know how we can make your trip one to remember!

It has almost everything you need -- surfboards, boogie boards, bikes. We just wish it had a place to hang swimsuits and towels to dry. The screens are great, but the chairs are so heavy. It would have been nice to have a book in the house describing everything.

Reviewer Comments: My husband and I have stayed in a smaller cottage on Weke Rd before and absolutely love this quiet neighborhood near the beach and Hanalei town shops and restaurants. This house is beautifully decorated, squeaky clean and luxuriously comfortable. The wrap-around screened in deck was my favorite feature because you could have the house doors open all the time to feel the breezes and hear the rain showers. The gigantic long table was our central gathering location for morning coffee, games, and cocktails. There were even four adult sized bikes we used every day which saved us bike rental costs. We had one hot water heater issue on day 1 and Lisa replied literally within moments to an email late at night and had a repair first thing the next morning. :)

Also, access to the best part of Hanalei Bay is only a short walk away. Downtown Hanalei is also a short walk or bike ride away or you can stay in and spend hours playing games on the giant table in screened in porch. I wouldn't stay anywhere else. Ka Makana is perfect!

My family had the best time in this beautiful, well appointed home. Close to town, best beach just down the street. Leaving it to return home was the only issue we had.

A slice of Hanalei Heaven

What an incredible place in Hanalei! The pictures do not do it justice. The house is gorgeous! So well designed, modern and every amenity you could want to a Hawaiian getaway. The location is amazing-a VERY short walk to the beach, next to a river, and a short bicycle ride to the shops and restaurants in Hanalei. The house is stocked with everything you could want for a Hawaii trip with adults and kids of all ages: bikes, beach chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, surfboards, kayaks, ice chests, you name it, this place has it! It was also the perfect place to call home for a week with our family with everything to make gourmet meals to outdoor grilling with fresh Hawaiian fish caught by the local neighbor across the street. Also Lisa is one of the kindest and most communicative owners/property managers I have ever dealt with. Our Hawaiian vacation in Hanalei couldn’t have been better. Can’t wait to stay here again!

Improvement to the house but not the experience

This was our third time staying at this wonderful house. We have long loved the location, house, and total experience. The bathrooms have been updated and are much better. The house in general is great. Unfortunately, this trip was not as enjoyable at this house due to constructions noise. We were not made aware that construction is underway at the property right next door and to the bridge which is right behind the house. Both projects had heavy equipment running beginning shortly after 6AM and throughout the morning. It was not quite the same enjoyment of the property to have listen to both projects. Being that windows and doors are always open for the breeze, it was a constant nuisance. I would have appreciated being told by the property manager at the time of our booking (4 weeks prior) that these projects were under way. After all, this property advertises the quiet you are suppose to enjoy. Speaking of which, I never spoke with, or heard from any property representative at any time before, during, or after our stay. Radio silence.
