If you are staying on Kauai there is not a better location then right in Hanalei. Voted one of the top beaches in the world it truly is one of the most beautiful places you will ever visit. As for homes in Hanalei, you will not find any home like this one. A custom 4500 square foot home with very unique woodwork and artistic funky flair. The open upstairs floor plan is a wide open area of 2400 square feet (the living room is larger than most homes in Hanalei). Custom Ohi'a beams and Tiki carved beams throughout the house accentuate the Island paradise. The house also incorporates lava rock in various locations and kids love the Pirates of the Caribbean like theme. Located on a very quiet cul-de-sac in the heart or Hanalei. This is a prime location, just 700 feet from the world class beach of Hanalei bay and equally close to the town center of Hanalei. The house is at the end of a long driveway set away from the street. Listen to the crashing winter surf, or island birds just outside your window. Partial ocean views from the back deck, and great mountain & waterfall views from the kitchen and living room. The kitchen was well equipped and very organized. We cooked most of our meals with daily fresh fish from the Dolphin. We loved the large open living floor. The carpeted section was particularly good for the 9-month old, and the room to run was particularly good for the 2- year old, plus all the adults could keep an eye on them both easily. There was a baby gate to cover the stairs. Beautiful views with windows all around enabled us to enjoy the tropics even while inside. Loved the easy walk into town and to the beach, and the beach gear.

We had the BEST stay at Tiki Home. Greg was the most awesome and communicative host. The house was just a few minutes walking distance to town and to the beach - could not be more convenient. Beds were super comfy. The shared living space upstairs was a total highlight for our family between daytime excursions. Would love love love to come back and stay again. Mahalo

This is the fourth rental I’ve stayed in in Hanalei, and it was easily the best. The bedrooms were comfortable, the living room is extremely spacious, and the views from the outdoor deck are beautiful. It was also stocked full of kitchen and beach essentials. Can’t recommend it enough!

Our family of six had an amazing time in the Tiki house! We spent a couple of days lounging around in the house as the home and surrounding view of the mountains and plants and trees was enjoyable without having to go anywhere else! The beach is a short walk away and the town of Hanalei is almost around the corner from the house. Dont get me wrong, we did a lot more on our vacation, but coming back home to enjoy the Tiki house was a highlight of our vacation!

Tiki house

Unique home with an awesome open living space on second floor. Great area to hang out with family and a wonderful 360 view of the surrounding area. Plenty of louvered windows upstairs to ventilate house even in July. Location is perfect for access to either the town or the beach.

Our week in Paradise

We came to Kauai with our son and daughter, their spouses and our 2 granddaughters (20 months and almost 3). The Tiki House was perfect for our family. The upstairs is one big open area, with 3 different sitting areas (couches and chairs) and 2 large tables. Lots of room for the little ones to run around. The location is perfect and we had everything we needed, including a wagon to take all the chairs, towels and toys to the beach. The kitchen is large, with so many cabinets and drawers. Every one is labeled and has every gadget and cooking need you can imagine. Wee did eat most dinners in, due to having the little ones. Our kids got to go out on date-nights and we were able to walk to most places. Everything was as described, but even better. Kauai is magical and we decided this will be an annual trip. We may need a bigger house soon, but if not - this will be the place we stay! Loved the roosters that crow at 5:30 every morning. 5:30 is 8:30 PST, so not a big deal! In short: Clean, spacious, well stocked and comfortable.

Awetime Tiki House

Loved the Tiki House! Great for our family with lots of space upstairs for gathering both inside and outside on the deck. Wonderful views of the surrounding lush hillsides and gardens. Kitchen had vitamix, rice maker, coffee and all the pots and pans we needed for making our own meals. Loved, loved loved the assortment of bicycles below for quick, easy access to beach and town.Felt like the house allowed us the full Hanalei experience. Grateful!

Perfect house for large family

This was the perfect house for our large family of teenage/adult children. The huge open living area made it easy for us to hang out together without being cramped and we were in a the perfect location. Highly recommend to anyone with a family or larger group.

Memorable family time

We stayed with our children and grandchildren. The space is designed for gathering and personal space. There is no air conditioning but with the fans and windows, it was very pleasant and preferred. The photos do not do the house justice—wonderfully designed space for all. We all hope to return.

Good (great?) with some caveats

Great location, super close to Hanalei Bay, which is amazing. House is very cool. Well equipped with chairs, a beach wagon, and an umbrella. Overall a good stay but given how expensive it is, there are some nuances that made us not give it a 5 star review. First, I think generally the owners have good intentions but they're not professional property managers and it shows.There is an infestation of ghost ants in the kitchen and you have to store all food in the microwave or fridge. Apparently this is common practice on the island, but we lost a lot of food we had bought because the owner didn't tell us this. We woke up to lots of tiny ants all in our cereal, cracker, and cookie boxes. Gross. The required check out process is also unnecessarily burdensome on guests. The owners could easily buy a second set of towels/linens/etc. and have the cleaners wash them offsite but instead they require the guests do multiple loads of laundry (wash, dry, and fold). It took hours to do everything, cutting into the remaining vacation. The pillows are flimsy and need to be replaced. While the house is very unique, it is also a bit weird and unsafe. You have to walk up and down steep tiled steps to get into the master shower. I'm 7 months pregnant and felt uneasy doing this, I would imagine this would be a slip/fall hazard for anyone elderly. You're paying a premium for the fact that there are is not a large supply of houses in this area. For us, it was still probably worth it.

Great Family House in Hanalei

We had a wonderful stay at the Tiki home! There were 2 families age ranges from 8 months to 8 yrs… the big open floor plan up on top was great for kids to have room to play. All bedrooms were downstairs which is great if you need some separation for naps etc. and house was outfitted with everything you need for the beach which was very convenient. Hanalei is magical and the house worked very well for us!

Artful, Spacious and Convenient

Our party of seven adults enjoyed the Tiki House from the first minutes of our arrival. We had so much room on the ground floor where the bedrooms, two baths, and the laundry room were. The top floor with its many seating areas, tables and well-equipped kitchen made our relaxing and cooking lots of fun. The views from upstairs complemented Hanalei's natural spenders and watching the birds hovering and landing around the feed was always delightful.We had a great time walking and biking to the beach. Thanks Greg for the beach chairs, bikes and handy beach towels. We found everything we wanted.

a Polynesian Vision

The tiki house is a very personally crafted spacious home, with everything you need for your Hanalei stay. The location is ideal, a 5 minute walk to the beach and at the most a 10 minute walk into town. The host was always helpful and responsive. Our family of 6 adults never felt crowded. A well designed kitchen made it a pleasure to prepare meals together. The beds are super comfy.

Fabulous retreat

The property is exactly as advertised. The real treat is observing all the details in the home. The spaces provide a fabulous variety of locations to hang out. It is easy to walk to town and or the Beach.Well outfitted with bikes, wagons, chairs, boogie boards, umbrellas, etc. to enable guests to fully enjoy the beach and local area.

Absolutely amazing

We had such a wonderful thanksgiving vacation at the tiki home with our family! The upstairs is very spacious and was great for the babies to play around. The large windows and open floor plan make it feel like a jungle house. The kitchen was well equipped for making meals. The best part was the bikes and beach equipment making it super easy to bike down to the beach and enjoy!! Also great to be within walking distance of the grocery and restaurants. We will be coming back! Greg was also incredibly kind and responsive!

Magical mansion

We were awed by the Tiki house and its unique furnishings. At first we thought....whoa, such a huge space. But, our family of eight settled in comfortably, enjoyed the 5 minute walk to the beach, the beach toys, the cruiser bikes, and all the magic that comes with being in North shore, Kauai. Thanks for sharing this wonderful home.

We love Hanalei and purchased this home to be able to enjoy it throughout the year. We use the home 4-5 times a year ourselves. So unlike most vacation home owners we are constantly upgrading the home and keeping it maintained against the elements. We know the island well and can help make sure you have an enjoyable stay. Our goal is not to maximize profits but to make sure the right people find the right place to stay even if that means suggesting other places to stay.

This is the Number 1 beach in all of America. It is one of the most beautiful places on earth and so easy to get to compared to other similar destinations like Tahiti, Bali, Thailand, Vietnam etc. We bought this home because we love to surf and be healthy. Hanalei is perfect for enjoying the outdoors, whether you are surfing, paddleboarding, hiking, canoeing, kayakiing, golfing, running, biking, etc. It is also quiet and relaxing to the soul. The food here is one of the main attractions for us. We skip all the conventional stores and eat almost entirely off of local produce when we come to Hanalei. It is our 'detox' from our stressful lives in San Francisco. Eating live real food grown fresh and organically on the island is amazing. Both the fruits and vegetables seem to have more nutrients and flavor then anything we have had from a conventional store. For protein we also stay local... The Hanalei Fish Market has fresh daily caught fish straight from local water, and they are also now selling local Kauai Beef that is raised humanely on a beautiful open range ranch just up the road from our house. This is the real deal! Best burger you have ever had type of meat. Once you visit Hanalei for the first time you will totally understand why anyone would want to own a home here. It is the place.

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

LOCATION: The best part of the Tiki Home for us is the fact that it is so centrally located. At the end of our street is the Saturday farmers market that has some of the best produce in the world... so fresh! Just around the corner from the home is Pine Trees beach and equal distance is the little path the locals call 'The Cape' Walking into town is just as easy as walking to the beach. Town is a short 700 foot walk from the home. All of these are even shorter on a bike! The best restaurants on the north Shore are just 700 foot walk. Think about how easy that is if you want to have a Mai Tai at dinner and don't want to be driving all the way back to Princeville or Haena. Hanalei is voted number 1 beach in all of America so many times now that they retired it to permanent status. If you don't stay at the Tiki Home you should at least stay in Hanalei.

ARTISTIC & UNIQUE: The TIki Home is funky cool! This place is built like no other home. Kids love the lava rock entrance and Lava Rock shower in the Master Bedroom. The upstairs open floor plan is really cool. The home has custom carved beams everywhere inside and out.

QUIET: Hanalei is a very sleepy town, so it is very quiet at night. Tiki Home is the place to be if you are looking for quiet solitude and peace. However be aware that most neighbors around Hanalei get pretty annoyed at late night partying, so if that is the type of place you are looking for this might not be the best fit.

AMMENITIES: We use the home ourselves pretty often. We live in San Francisco and fly over using miles several times a year. That means we like to keep nice stuff in the home because we use it too, especially the kitchen. It is difficult fighting the elements in Hanalei with the ocean air and north shore rains at night but we hope we are slowly winning the battle compared to other homes which can get run down if owners are not keeping up. Being able to visit often helps with this battle.
