Simply Paradise. Amazing home and Superb hosts!
Wow, we had an incredible stay at L&F's home. This place couldn't have been more perfect. Our family of four (kids 5 & 7) like to have a lot of space to enjoy and not bother anyone. We like to beach bum, enjoy the sun, the people and the culture...not be on schedules. We picked the French side to stay away from the hustle and bustle and it was perfect. The home had everything and kayaks were available for us to take to Pinel Island and enjoy the gorgeous beach and food at a whim. Probably the closest town to Anse Marcel and Grand Case is 5 minutes away. Here are my tips:
- rent a car, explore
- lots of activity & gear from kayaks, paddle boards, snorkel gear, life vests for kids, balls, football for beach, racket games, floaties, loved the swan floatie in the water. my fave.
- kitchen all the necessities for a cook. I cooked every night.
- wifi was great in all living areas and between homes but if you are out in the deck by the pool, you may not have wifi.
- the main living area (kitchen, tv, pool side) is connected with the master bedroom and ensuite. The other three rooms are on a separate building. My husband loved this because he could have his own space but if you have little children, you may want to stay in the connecting rooms which is an option.
- baths were clean and master bathroom was fantastic.
- bath towels, beach towels, swimming pool towels...
- we have a breeze throughout the trip and it ran through the home so no need for any ac
- rooms had ac so we used those during bedtime to avoid any mosquitoes but those who don't care about this can have them open all night.
- pool was ideal. we loved loved loved the pool. i want one now.
- Area. Never having gone to the island and wanting privacy, this place was exactly that. Walked short steps to the nearby donkeys and horses which you can feed. The beach on that side was experiencing lots of waves and currents but it was beautiful. having access by kayak to pinel was great.
- nearby recycling area so sometimes you can hear cars driving up & down, didn't bother us tho
- super u market in Marigot for all shopping. Cocci 1 mile away daily fresh baguettes
- restaurants - karibuni on pinel & calmos in grand case
The hosts were incredible. Laurence is super quick about responding with tons of tips. They were both so relaxed and made us feel like home. Their daughter even contacted us to offer babysitting which was sweet. Thank you Laurence for making SXM such a fantastic stay!
