Charming house between CAEN / BAYEUX / LA MER - 4 km from the landing beaches; sea visible from the village located on the heights behind the beaches of Arromanches, Asnelles and Meuvaines. Completely renovated house, very bright and located in a very quiet, very pleasant village.
Many visits are to be made in the Region.
Capacity of the house: 6 pers. maximum.
The gîte includes:
On the ground floor :
-A room - living room with TV, fireplace (wood available).
-An American kitchen open to the fully equipped room (dishwasher, washing machine, fridge, microwave, coffee maker).
-A bathroom with bath and shower.
-A relaxation room with a sofa bed for 2 people.
Upstairs :
-A first bedroom with double bed 140 people.
-A second bedroom with double bed 160 people.
-A small bedroom for children with 1 single bed.

Lovely Stay in Normandy

We had the most lovely time in Normandy, and the rental was the perfect base for seeing much of the region. I really hope to return someday, and I would absolutely stay here again!

Really lovely stay

Had a really nice stay here. The property had everything we needed and is very comfortable. It's in a beautiful village in a beautiful quiet part or Normandy. High recommend!

Lovely House near Normandy Beaches

This is a lovely house with plenty of room for a great stay near the Normandy Beaches and other Normandy sites. The house has a great garden and is well appointed with everything you need for a perfect stay!

Both the host and house were awesome! Very welcoming and available to answer any questions we had.

Normandy vacation

The property was excellent. Very clean, pleasant, accommodating and in a very nice, quiet area of Bazenville. It was an ideal position for visiting the landing beaches, Caen, Bayeux and many other places. Nadine was very welcoming and helpful. We will definitely recommend and visit again.

Nice property, very quiet location but overall fantastic accommodation. Only drawback is the fact no taxis to take us into town so someone needed to drive unless you pre-empt going out, but that is the only one!

We had a fantastic stay in Bazenville! The property was delightful, comfortable and very clean. The location was excellent, we used supermarkets in Bayeux and were ideally placed for all the local history and the many beautiful beaches. The WiFi was great .Nadine was a great host. I would highly recommend.

Quiet and beautiful

Plenty of space indoors and outdoor. Walking around the little village was very enjoyable. Everyone we met were very friendly. Good home base to visit Normandy. Be sure to check out the local graveyard by the church.

Lovely property, ideal location

Nadine is a great host, very helpful and friendly and there if you need her. The property is beautifully clean, well equipped and perfectly located to reach all the local attractions including the D day beaches and museums, Arromanche and Bayeaux. It's in a peaceful location with a lovely garden, perfect for relaxing at the end of a busy day sightseeing. We would highly recommend this property.

D-Day 80 Stay in Bazenville

What a fantastic little cottage! This place was perfect for our base to explore Normandy and in particular the WW2 D-Day landing sites. The cottage is perfectly located and accommodated my family of 4 plus my retired parents. The house was very clean and included everything we needed for the week. Nadine was a super host and made sure we had everything we needed and told us everything we needed to know, thanks Nadine! We cant wait to go back!

We were looking for a location that would allow us to explore the Normandy beaches (10 minutes), Bayeux (15 minutes) as it was our first trip to France. This was perfect for us as gave us a real experience of French countryside/village living with larger supermarkets etc approx. 15 minute drive away in Bayeux or 20 minutes to Caen.The property was perfect for us, set in lovely grounds, with easy parking. Bright and open lounge/kitchen/diner with a great double bedroom off the lounge area.Downstairs toilet and bathroom with a shower and a bath, were great. Then upstairs we had 2 large doubld bedrooms with a single room located off the main bedroom, which worked really well for us.

Lovely stay

We had a family break at Nadine’s house during February half-term. The house was clean, comfortable and the log-burner (and supply of wood) was most welcome! The house is very well equipped and ideal as a base for exploring Bayeux and the landing beaches. It also has a large walled lawned garden which - though we didn’t make use of it in February - would be great for BBQs and for kids to play in safely. Highly recommended.

Very nice house in Calvados

This house is a very good starting point to explore the region of Calvados. A quiet place where birds are singing. After your side trip you can relax in the bright and sunny garden. The house is excelent equiped. Great respect for Nadine and her husband who have renovated this old house so well. Absolutely recommendable.

Perfect Stay

Really lovely property, super clean, comfy beds and space for everyone- we had 3 adults all in seperate rooms and we all felt we had enough space. The rooms are a generous size with plenty of storage. It would suit people with small children too as there is a lovely childs bedroom off the main bedroom with lots of books and games Fully equipped with everything we needed for the stay and a washer dryer too which was very handy Very quiet and peaceful village being close to all the Normandy beaches and war memorials, perfect thank you so much Nadine. we hope to be back soon

Would definitely recommend

Nadine was very welcoming and friendly. It was the 2nd time we visited and was just as good as the first time. The Gite was very clean with adequate amenities and spacious for a holiday home. Car parking, adequate for two cars. The garden is ideal for children to play in and the location is very quiet and peaceful with it being very accessible to the Normandy beaches. Arromanches and Bayeux are both about a 10/15-minute drive away. Would definitely recommend this Gite and thanks once again to Nadine for being a great host!

The gite was spotless on arrival and very well equipped, everything we needed and more. Three good size bedrooms. There is nothing to fault with it, beautiful and private large garden. It is a very quiet and peaceful location. I would highly recommend it. We stayed to visit the Normandy landing beaches and it was ideal ten minutes from Arramanches Nadine is lovely Be sure to visit the Boulangerie in Cruelly !

Excellent, rural gites, run by friendly and helpful owners

This gites was everything we were looking for......quiet, well placed (between Bayeux and the coast), well appointed and maintained, and clean. The owners were friendly, helpful and informative, leaving us a lovely welcome present of local cider, Camembert and fresh flowers. The rooms were a good size, with comfy beds, a choice of hard or soft pillows and great blackout blinds. The outside space had garden furniture to enable “eating out” and comfy chairs to laze in the spacious garden. The kitchen was well equipped and the bathroom had both a bath and shower. We had a fabulous holiday here and will be coming no back. I would highly recommend this gites.

Bazenville

Access wasn't obvious and there was no mobile signal available to contact the host. Eventually we tried the door and it was open. No tea or coffee available, no instructions for WiFi, confusion on whether sheets and towels were available. Host never did show up after asking when we would be leaving.

Wonderful

My two adult children and my husband and I stayed in Bazenville at Nadine’s cottage for 6 nights. It was a wonderful retreat away from the more crowded areas of Normandy the week before the 80th anniversary of D-Day. It is remote and located in a small village which we loved. But keep in mind you do have to drive about 20 minutes to get to a restaurant or store. We live like this normally so didn’t mind it. The house is old with lots of charm and yet modern conveniences like a dishwasher and washer/dryer. The black out shades were most welcome during June when the sun is hardly down. Nadine is a wonderful host. She lives nearby if you need help but definitely gives you privacy as well. Thank you Nadine.

We have just returned after a fab week in this beautiful property. Family of 4, two adults and two teenage children 14 and 17. Set in a tiny village it’s just so peaceful. The house itself is well equipped and the owner ensures there is everything you need to enjoy your stay. This includes the smaller things like hand soap and washing up liquid, one less thing to pack! There is a children’s bedroom so well equipped I wish I had had small children with me, full of games and toys to keep them occupied. Also and this important to many now days it had excellent wifi. Its location is just right to visit all the historic sights and those further a field. It’s also just a 10/15 minute drive to Bayeux where you can find the supermarkets. The journey from the Ouistreham ferry terminal is around 45 minutes. I would urge anyone looking at this property to book as you won’t be disappointed. Thank you Nadine x

Wir haben uns im Cottage außerordentlich wohl gefühlt. Madame Lesaulnier war sehr gut in der Kommunikation, antwortete innerhalb kurzer Zeit und hat bei einem Problem (kaputte Sonnenschirme) sofort für Abhilfe gesorgt. Außerdem hat Sie uns gute Tipps für Ausflüge in der Umgebung gegeben und war im persönlichen Austausch sehr freundlich und interessiert. Das Haus ist perfekt eingerichtet und hat alles, was man braucht (gerade Spül- und Waschmaschine fanden wir im Urlaub sehr angenehm!). Dank des guten Wetters haben wir sehr viel Zeit im sehr schönen Garten verbracht, der ein wunderbarer Ort zum Entspannen, Sonnen, Lesen und draußen die Mahlzeiten einnehmen war. Einziges kleines Manko: Ein Schlafplatz ist eher für kleine Kinder geeignet und nur mit einem Vorhang, nicht mit einer Tür abgetrennt. Aber das war nicht wirklich dramatisch. Wir würden auf jeden Fall gerne wiederkommen.
