LITTLE MOUNTAIN RETREAT IN THE HISTORIC TOWN CENTRAL CITY, located on the hill with a beautiful panoramic view of Central City and the Bell Tower of St. Mary Church, one of the oldest Catholic gathering places in Colorado.
You can hear the bells every hour, and it feels especially sentimental, evoking the old-time charm of the Colorado Gold Rush...
The cottage offers a great location, just a short walk from restaurants, casinos, and shops, as well as the Gilpin County Historic Museum, Central City Opera, and the Visitor Center. Ski resorts nearby include Eldora, Echo Mountain, and Loveland, all within a 45-minute to 1-hour drive.
In the winter, the cottage is perfect as a little retreat for a weekend in the mountains, with skiing and snowboarding. There are several pools in the Rec Center in Blackhawk and Idaho Springs, as well as Indian Hot Springs, in the area. We don't have a swimming pool on the property.
In the summer, you can enjoy trails, lakes, and parks nearby. If you're a history buff, you'll be in a great spot: the area is rich in Colorado Gold Rush and railroad history.
Try your luck in casinos or enjoy an outstanding opera performance in one of the old Opera houses in the nation.
The cottage is a two-bedroom house with a queen-size bed in each bedroom, and a fully equipped kitchen. We tried to decorate the house with some unique art pieces and antiques. The living room features an old cast-iron wood stove as its centerpiece. The dining room features a Victorian-style gas stove for added warmth and ambiance in the winter.
The cottage is perfect for two guests, two couples, or a small family.
