Absolutely beautiful home- and very well maintained! We had such a great time staying there and would definitely go back again. Its about an hour from the Denver but the drive is beautiful. We really enjoyed hanging on the deck, listening to the creek and watching the hummingbirds! We played in the creek a bit and it was just so nice to be surrounded by nature. Literally every window view was stunning. The beds and furniture were comfortable and we loved the heated floors. The house was very clean. The house does have low lighting in the bathrooms which made shaving/makeup a little challenging but we made it work. The house was also very well stocked with staples/kitchen things which made the trip easier for cooking and prep for all of our excursions. Overall an incredible place to explore the Rocky Mountains and we would definitely be back!

This cabin is the perfect place to stay. It is in a great location that is easy to navigate. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need. You will love the showers!! It definitely earns the name of Hummingbird Nest. We were entertained thoughout the week by watching the hummingbirds. At one time, there were at least 30 birds fighting over the 4 feeders.

Amazing property!

We stayed for almost a whole week and it was fabulous! The house was super unique and accommodated all of us. The property itself was stunning with the creak running through!

The cabin is perfect. We enjoyed our time so much and would love to go back tomorrow! The cabin is so nice and comfortable. It has everything you need plus much more. We spent a lot of time on the deck watching the crazy hummingbirds and listening to the stream.

We had a very good time at Hummingbird Nest with our family. The creek is beautiful and relaxing right outside the door. Plenty of space for us to spread out, but also to gather together for meals and playing games. Lots of amenities to make the stay comfortable! It is about 10-15 minutes out of town on an unpaved road, but it is perfect for a vacation getaway!

Oh my gosh, this place was absolutely beautiful!!! Exactly as advertised and charming to the max. The babbling brook in front of the house, the hummingbirds outside, the dramatic mountain backdrop… idyllic! And the house itself was incredible. Pristine, well appointed with charming details, stocked with everything you could need, luxurious accommodations. We never wanted to leave. The hosts were attentive, personable, and communicative. You could tell it was their personal home and that it was a place that held a lot of loving, happy memories. Yet it also had the feel of a luxury mountain cabin, and as a guest, it felt like it was my home too. I hope to return and stay for more than 3 days!!

Wonderful summertime stay, next to stream.

Our family had a wonderful stay at this property. Check in was easy, communication with the hosts was convenient. The location is spectacular in the mountains with your own little stream right out the door. We enjoyed having dinner on the balcony and sleeping with the windows open listing to the river. Highly recommend!

Perfect Christmas

The house exceeded all expectations! Too many fabulous details to name here, and it really felt like a home. Deanna was incredibly helpful, and was answered all of my questions within minutes. The town of Central City is a gem!

Great stay.

Extremely nice house, clean, excellently equipped with great fixtures and furnishings. Master and 2nd bedroom have “out of this world” showers with rainfall, steam, multiple shower heads, etc. Kitchen is well equipped with everything you might need. Beautiful creek runs through the yard. Lots of hummingbirds. Easy access to all kinds of activities.

Hummingbird Haven

We thorough enjoyed our stay at this well stocked cabin. It has absolutely everything you need. The sounds of the creek and the constant hummingbird traffic was so relaxing and enjoyable. Would definitely stay again!

The most wonderful property we’ve stayed at in 7 years of travel!

The home itself is really magnificent. We’ve stayed in A-frame cabins in the mountains several times, but this one is above and beyond all the rest, surpassing even the photos and descriptions. The property is incredible—the creek is literally 10-12 feet from the back door, and if you crack the windows you’ll hear its lovely sound the entire time, truly serene. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need to prepare any meal. The bathrooms are next level—rainfall showers, full body nozzles, steam shower, huge whirlpool tub, and gorgeous decor throughout. There was more than enough room for my wife and I and our twin 16 year old boys. We were concerned that they would have issues sharing the same large bed in the lower bedroom, and when I mentioned this to Deanna, she immediately offered an inflatable air mattress. It wasn’t needed however, as one of my boys just wanted to fall asleep watching the big screen tv on the couch in the wonderful downstairs family room. You can tell that the owners love this home, by the amount of care and craftsmanship that they’ve put into it. There is a great sense of family here, and we never wanted to leave. Thank you Deanna!

We found the perfect landing spot for all of our Colorado adventures. Plenty of space, house amenities and a wonderful location!! If you are planning a trip in this area. You absolutely can not go wrong with this property 🏞️❤️

3 generations mountain trip

Such a wonder full place. Im 77 years old and i brought my wife, our daughter and her daughter our granddaughter. Me and the 3 ladies used this home as our base, and traveled out each day to rocky mountain national park and cog railway up pikes peak, boulder, and numerous hikes all around the area. And of course me and my wife went into blackhawk a few nites for some slots and wonderful dinners. This home hadeverything you could want...seperate areas for me and my eife and aldo for my daughtrr and her daughter. 3 full bathrooms with upscale showers, etc. My daughter is a birder and was delighted with the 3 hummingbird feeders on the 3 deck areas. She kept them full all week and has left supplies and detailed instructions for future guests. This home is the best we have ever rented and you will enjoy your stay beyond your expectations. Look no further than this property. Reserve and enjoy with no worries.

Disconnect and Recharge

We had a wonderful time staying in the cabin and enjoyed coffee on the deck watching the hummingbirds and listening to the water bounce off the rocks on the nearby stream. Looking forward to returning in the future.

This property is absolutely stunning! The views are incredible and the house is even better! We enjoyed the peace, quiet and seclusion of this property. We were only a few minutes away from Black Hawk. LOVE!!! We will be back for future stays!!!

Wonderful vacation rental

We had a wonderful time at this cabin. The river access was fantastic and the cabin was awesome with all the comforts of home and more. There are numerous activities for young and old within minutes. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a mountain getaway. Thanks so very much!!!

This place is great. I recently stayed there and highly recommend it for a place to get away and relax and enjoy nature. It is very quiet and yet not too far from civilization so that you feel isolated. It was wonderful and I hope to return again some day.

Owners Dennis and Deanna Kuder have been working on this home for nearly 20 years now. Dennis owns a sawmill in Kansas and has milled much of the lumber used in the interior and exterior of the home. They have enjoyed planning and working on unique features, along with their son Jason. Together they have developed the perfect getaway that they want to share with others. They have tried to provide things that will make you feel at home. If you need it, it's likely there. Your comfort is their goal.

There is so much history in the Black Hawk/Central City area, and there is so much to do. We have enjoyed using Hummingbird Nest as a base for journeying out on day trips. It is the perfect location to visit so many wonderful places. There are amazing things going on all the time and new things added all the time.
But most of all, we enjoy the peace and quiet of just being at home. The hummingbirds are always flitting around in the summer. We have had turkey pay us a visit, as well as a moose. Though we have never seen bears, our neighbors tell us they have seen them around. The summers are cool, and winters are quiet and toasty warm by the fire. We enjoy the time we are there and long to share our bit of paradise with others, too!

We have always tried to make our home welcoming to guests. We want them to feel at home and open to settling in like they are at home. If it is there, feel free to use it. The kitchen is stocked with seasonings of all kinds. Use anything you need.
Our location is perfect for all tastes. There is something for everyone, and we want everyone to enjoy their stay. Each guest will be assigned an entry code so their access will be easy, and the carport allows you to have access for unloading your gear, regardless of the weather outside.
