Walk to Beach & Dining, Dog OK, Vintage Florida Vibe, Modern Florida Amenities

Beach Life! Quick walk to the beach! Quiet & Private! Neighborhood Walk down!
Walk or bike to shopping, restaurants and more. Many of our guests never drive their cars until checkout! We have lots of beach amenities at our house too!

Escape at the Sea is on the "beach side" of 30 A and Hwy. 98, affording both easy access to the Gulf and to local activities. We are located in Inlet Beach, Florida, a vibrant and historic enclave at the Eastern-most end of the 30A Corridor. 30A is a 19-mile scenic road that winds through coastal Beach communities along the Gulf of Mexico, skimming dune lakes, wetlands and parks, sharing the space with bike/hike trails and nature paths. Multi-star restaurants co-exist with Boho coffee shops. Cars make way for bikes and boats make way for kayaks. Stroll around an Art Fair, hang out at a bonfire, watch fireworks, paddle board and enjoy international cuisine. Or do as we do, and relax on the front deck, wind chimes in the air, surf in the background….and beautiful breezes everywhere!
Escape at the Sea is a memorable part of the neighborhood. Most everyone knows the “A frame” and newcomers pass by and call it “So Cool”. It is one of the last true Beach Houses in the area….cozy, colorful, and yes….cool!

Escape at the Sea is the perfect "adult" beach house, with vintage furnishings and memorabilia, spiral stairs, and above ground decks. The beach house sleeps a maximum of four. We welcome children 12 years of age and over. Our home was not designed with young children in mind. We do not have play space, nor is the home childproofed in any way. We like to make sure that our home is the right fit for you. Please note, before you book, message us on platform through an inquiry with your questions, the number of guests, and info on your pet. We do not accept booking requests without first communicating through an inquiry. Also, we strictly maintain the 4 person maximum at our home.

Escape At the Sea is a unique and entertaining throwback to the past, carefully curated to its original surf shack vibe. On the walls you’ll find things like a vintage surfboard and skis, local art, and Panama City Beach memorabilia. Relax under an old school stuffed Mahi, sleep under a Barracuda, and throw in a load of laundry alongside a Spanish Mackerel… original, colorful tributes to the area’s fishing history! Grab a morning coffee on the sunrise deck; catch the sunset from the upper balcony.

Visitors could spend the entire trip on the "above ground" main floor. The first floor has a bedroom with queen bed and large closet, full bath with walk in shower, living room with sofa and kitchen.
The upper floor is accessible by a spiral staircase, has a bedroom with queen bed and large closet, and half bath.
At the top of the stairs is an open loft area for casual conversation, and a dedicated work space.
On the ground level is an open air shower for rinsing off, with privacy panels and cool water.

Follow the sun. A large deck surrounds the main floor. Enjoy your morning coffee on the rear sunrise deck, just off the first floor BR, or barbecue your dinner on the gas grill. Guests also enjoy access to the upper sunset deck, with a "peekaboo" water view.
In addition to the eat-in kitchen, the rear deck has an umbrella table for dining outdoors.
For beach goers, we have 2 paddleboards with leashes and PFD's, 2 small sit on top kayaks, sand chairs, cart, umbrella and beach towels.

Primary renter must be 25 or older and be one of the guests staying in the house. All overnight guests must be listed on the rental agreement. No unregistered overnight guests after check in.
Maximum of 1 dog, and must be at least two years old, with a weight limit of 50 pounds and neutered. Not all breeds are allowed. Pet must be crated when alone in house. No pets on furniture. Pets will need to be walked along the street, and you must pick up after them.
In order to maximize the breeze and view, the house is situated on tall pilings, and sits 10’ above the ground, with stairway access. This may not be suitable for some people with mobility issues.
Although we do have a lockbox for guest use while at the property, we like to meet our guests at check in, offer a tour if possible, answer questions, and turn over the key. We have found that most guests appreciate this. It helps to familiarize them with the property, leaving more time to just enjoy your visit!

The Panhandle of Florida boasts 320 days of sunshine, flowers galore, and the most extraordinary crystal clear waters. Hurricane season is June-November, with September/October being the most active months.

March/April
With daytime highs in the 70’s, the air is crisp and clear, and Azaleas and Dogwoods start blooming. Spring Break centers on family events, with Art Fairs, beach bonfires and lots of bike rides. Oysters are at their best, and fishing starts to heat up with the water. Pompano show up along the beach once the water is between 62 and 65 degrees. Redfish can also be found right off the beach.

May
With 14 hours of daylight, flowers are in full bloom, especially wild Rosemary with white and lavender flowers. Countless species of birds are abuzz, and the wetlands are bursting with flora and fauna. Mothers Day brings special gourmet activities and shopping fairs. Average temperatures reach 85 with comfortable 77 degree waters.
As the gulf waters start to warm fishermen are watching for schools of King Mackerel, Spanish Mackerel, and Cobia. In the local “Dune Lakes” you can catch Speckled Trout, Redfish, Flounder and other saltwater fish along with Bass and Bream.

June
With warm waters of 83 degrees, it’s the perfect time for water sports. Our beautiful dragonflies are back, and the flowers continue to grace the area. With beautiful Crape Myrtle and fragrant Jasmine, hiking and biking can be a sensory delight. Wetlands are filled with Pitcher Plants, Sweet Bay Magnolia, Bald Cypress, and Herons share the beauty.
Farm Markets are bursting with local produce and delicacies, and art is everywhere.
Fishermen get really fired up with Grouper and Snapper seasons opening just off shore. The Kings are usually right off shore and easily accessible with a kayak or small boat. Cobia continue to cruise through and Tarpon are also cruising the beach in the crystal clear water.

July
With temperatures in the 90’s and waters at 83 degrees, it’s time to hit the beach. July 4th Fireworks can be seen in both directions from the beach, and picnics, hog roasts and paella parties are happening. Time to stand up paddleboard in the gulf and dune lakes, or cool off with a canoe/kayak trip to the inland springs.
For fishermen the “big ones” are just off shore, and lots of Pompano and Redfish are getting caught early and late day right off the beach.

August
School starts mid August, so the beach is significantly less crowded. Fall flowers are turning…..Muhly grasses are flowering purple and Beauty Berries are electric purple. With 90 degree days and 86 degree waters, it’s the perfect time to wind down from the hectic summer fun.
While it may be hot on the beach, it’s a perfect time to hit the water on a kayak or paddleboard. The crystal green water is loaded with fish, and just off the public beach you can snorkel over our wonderful inshore artificial reef. It’s in the shape of a Cobia and starts in 12 feet of water, just off the second sandbar, and goes out to 19 feet deep. It’s also a great place to fish!
Trigger fish season opens in the Gulf, and scallop season opens mid month around Port Saint Joe.
You might also wish to head inland and enjoy the crisp, cool waters of our Springs.

September
Labor Day starts out the month with the last blast of family picnics and festivities. The air and water continue to be hot.
Gag grouper season opens. Less than a mile offshore lies our artificial reef designed for fishing. There are also hard bottom areas where you can find various species of Snapper, Grouper and always Trigger fish.
Golden lilies and purple salvia start to pop…..and sea grass is still blowing in the warm ocean breeze.

October
Monarch butterfly time! The skies are aflutter as they migrate into the area.
The weather begins to cool (66-80 degrees), and the water calms down…..often times you’ll find the water warmer than the air….the perfect time to sit out on a sandbar and dream. Or try local hiking and biking trails.
The fall migration of King Mackerel starts moving through, along with other Perlagics.
With Fall in bloom, yellow sunflowers, purple berries, and all the other red beauties lend spectacular color to the landscape.

November
Everyone is giving thanks for the cool weather, lower humidity and the upcoming Holidays. Air temperatures range from 57 to 72 degrees.
This is when Redfish, Speckled Trout and Flounder fire up near shore and in the Bays and Lakes. Red Snapper is open every weekend this month.
Fall art festivals return with a focus on holiday gift giving, and there is a feeling of anticipation for all the fun ahead.

December
If you’ve never seen decorated Palm trees, it’s a must! Everywhere you look, they are wrapped in twinkling lights…..it’s just magical!
Air temps avg. 52-66 degrees. Water temperatures average 68 degrees. Fisherman begin to target Big “Bull” Reds right off the beach. We also start seeing schools of Bluefish.
It’s the time to celebrate family and friends before the quiet months ahead.

January/February
Perfect time to “hide out” at the beach! Bundle up and enjoy the beauty of the beach! Marvel at the dunes, search out seashells and enjoy the beautiful sunsets. The area is overall much quieter, and the pace slows down. Daily temperatures range 48 to 60+ degrees. Water temps are in the upper 50’s, but this doesn’t slow down the fishermen! In shore they are focused on Speckled Trout, Flounder and Sheepshead. Just offshore, Black Fin Tuna start showing up.
Bottom line.......our area is just wonderful all year long!

Hawaiian Vibe in the Gulf
To begin with our hosts were fantastic. Great communication and very responsive. They provided great recommendations for restaurants and things to do in the area. The place was exactly as described and very comfortable and relaxing. We loved the privacy with all the trees surrounding the property. The decks were spacious and great to relax on and enjoy sunrises and sunsets. We enjoyed being steps away from the beach and the hosts provided beach chairs and umbrellas and a beach wagon which made hauling the gear to and on the beach a breeze. The beach was never really overcrowded because there is no parking so you only saw folks who lived or were staying in the neighborhood. The house is located in Inlet Beach and only a short drive from the Panama City airport. It was a short walk to the center of Rosemary Beach. We rented bikes for our stay and the area is bike friendly, so getting around was super easy. We highly recommend this place and we plan to stay here again the next time we visit Rosemary Beach.

Wonderful home!
We loved staying at this wonderful house! The owners welcomed us to their lovely home and were very communicative and helpful! The decor of the home is very cute and comfy. We especially loved how close the home was to the beach - you can walk to the beach access in just a few minutes! The house is also very close to many restaurants and shops. We hope to stay at this property again in the future!!

Sparkling clean
Great experience overall. Owners are kind and responsive. This is a fantastic location, close to the beach walkover and plenty of shops and restaurants. The home private, charming and full of great vintage decor. And the house is likely the cleanest we’ve ever rented. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Best place EVER!!!!
What a charming little home. Set back from the road allowing some privacy. Great location to the beach. The host was great and we enjoyed the beach gear available. I couldn’t recommend this place more. You can always find a place on one of the decks to sip a drink in the shade no matter the time of day. Within a bike ride or stroll of lots of shops on 30A. We will visit again what a little hidden gem!

Sobre o anfitrião

Anfitrião: "V" Jaffe

Imagem do perfil do anfitrião
Rich and V have been visiting Inlet Beach since the 1960’s, and still live in Inlet Beach. Both retired, Rich is an avid fisherman and "adventure cook". V shows her Wearable Art in local galleries and art shows.

Por que o anfitrião escolheu essa propriedade

The A-frame is a family beach house built by Rich’s folks, and is one of the earliest houses in the area. We love it and hope to keep it FOREVER!

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

When built in 1970, Escape at the Sea was a state of the art "hurricane proof" steel frame kit house. Today it is a collectible, whimsical step into the past, with a bit of California Dreaming thrown in. The A Frame is situated on tall pilings, 10’ above the ground, to catch the breeze and the view. Never break a sweat. Never miss a sunrise or sunset!
