Morning Dew-A Riverfront Healdsburg Home

Sunny, fun riverfront home in Healdsburg with direct access to Russian River and multiple indoor and outdoor areas to relax and enjoy your time. Great wine country location, less than 10 minutes to Healdsburg's Town Square, and less than 5 minutes to Ru's Farm, or Front Porch Farms. We have multiple decks, a screened porch, a private patio overlooking the river, and everything you need to enjoy them. TOT#3255N

The space

Morning Dew is a quaint, 1920s home set under a beautiful old oak tree. In the main house, you'll find a well equipped eat-in kitchen and two separate living spaces where you can curl up by the wood stove with a good book, play cards, watch cable TV or use the WiFi. We have a well stocked kitchen, and provide coffee and tea.

There are several options for sleeping, with a queen bed and a single bed in main house, and a second queen bed in the "Love Shack" (a rustic studio accessed by a separate entry below the main home). There is a full bath in the main house and a small bath with shower in the Love Shack.

There are many outdoor spaces for relaxing and enjoying the sounds and views of the river. You'll find a shaded deck off the kitchen with a large table for outdoor dining, a small lounge area besides Love Shack, a screened porch part way down to the river, and a shaded platform that sits above the rocky beach.

We have everything you need for a memorable river and wine weekend. Folding chairs, beach towels, and a cooler are available for lounging at the river. Winery maps and recommendations and a picnic basket help you make the most of your winery tour. You'll also find great hiking and road biking in the area, or can arrange a kayaking or canoe trip ending at nearby Memorial Beach.

Guest access

You will have access to the entire property. We share the path down to the river with our neighbors, but the platform above the river is exclusively ours and there is plenty of room on the rocky beach for everyone to find their own space.

While we do not live onsite, we are available by phone or electronically for questions and advice. You can talk to me directly via the Ring doorbell anytime.

Other things to note

Please note there are many steep steps down to the river. Use of the stairs and river are at your own risk.

We have a Ring video doorbell.

Please note this is an old and quirky home situated in a rural area. While the oak tree brings lovely shade, it also regularly drops leaves and is home to lots of wildlife. While it varies by season, here are some of the creatures you may come across:
Most likely see - lizards, songbirds, jays, hawks, spiders, caterpillars.
Probably see - deer, ducks, fish, hummingbirds, vultures.
Might see - river otters, quail, snakes, field mice, skunks.

Our home is always professionally cleaned between visits, but if seeing a spider in the house could ruin your weekend, it may not be the best choice for you!

Little Cabin in the Woods

This is an adorable property like staying in a tree house. We loved the feeling of being far away but within 5 minutes of Healdsburg. Kitchen is well equipped and we found some of the basics when we went to cook but we were deeply appreciated the coffee and tea supplies.It is a hike up from the river so not a good option if you aren't able to navigate steep stairs of differing heights, but they do everything possible to make it safe.I would definitely stay again.

Great property and location

Thanks Gil and Jen for sharing your home with us. The house was clean and well kept. The location was very peaceful with great views of the river from the covered lookout. It was a great spot for us to spend hours listening to / watching wildlife and read. Weā€™d love to be back again soon.

A cute little house in the forest along the Russian River! Bedding was amazing and property very clean! The only drawback was no cell service.

Great location; wonderful to be able to so easily access the Russian, though flowing too swift for us to get in we enjoyed hanging out next to. The interior is artistically decorated, and was very clean. Communication with Gil was prompt and clear. My sister and I would definitely stay again!

The Perfect Place

My girlfriends and I spent a week at Morning Dew and loved every minute of it. The space was lovely, comfy, and the perfect location to visit our favorite wineries and find new favorites in Sonoma Valley, Napa Valley, and Anderson Valley. We also loved beating the heat at the ocean and watching the harbor seals. We enjoyed nights on the deck, morning river kayak trips, and the Healdsburgā€™s Farmerā€™s Market and concerts. I loved waking up in the Love Shack to the sounds of the river and sunlight filtering through the trees. They had thought of everything like coffee grinders, loose tea strainers, great information about the area, and wireless chargers. This little place is the perfect space for rest, relaxation, and a great location to experience Northern California!

Great Place needs some outdoor love

Loved the property and beautiful location. Beds comfortable. House spacious and welcoming. River and Kayaks awesome. Outdoor spaces need power wash cleaning and maintenance. Thick dust on patio furniture and cobwebs festooning every surface (legs put under the patio table met with massive webs with leaves stuck in them). Stairs down to river need repair & handrails are getting rickety. Overall great place. An outdoor grill would be nice if local rules allow

Idyllic setting

We had a great stay at Morning Dew. The setting is beautiful, and the outdoor spaces are lovely. It was wonderful to open the door and hear the Russian River. We went to California to spend some time with our children, and this was ideally situated halfway between San Francisco and Willits. We weren't far from the coast or hiking spots. The weather was cool and rainy, but we made good use of the wood stove and were very comfortable. We even spotted a turtle and a river otter at the riverbank. Wi-fi connection was excellent, and cell service seemed to depend on your carrier...Verizon worked fine, but ATT struggled. We would definitely return!

Beautiful location in forested hillside overlooking Russian River

This rustic and eclectic home was located in a beautiful, natural setting in a quite country location about 10 minutes drive from Healdsburgh. Lots of space both inside and outside. The host was great to deal with and we got good value for the money. Our only suggestion is that the furniture and carpet in the living room were old and need replacing. Other than that, we loved the place.

Morning Dew with Jam

After a small glitch, Gil, Jenn and VRBO were on it and made the necessary accommodations. The property was perfect for our family vacation, great location, kitchen was well stocked, loved their music selection and there was plenty of room to hang out - there was just too much to do in the area - wish we had more time. Great Kayaking Getaway

We had a great stay at this property. My 4-year-old daughter loved the children's room and the fairy doors around the property! We took the kayaks out every day and enjoyed the peaceful river atmosphere.

Perfect tucked away cottage for a visit to wine country
