Ocean Views with Swimming Pool.

2212 Bruce Drive has just completed an extensive renovation. This lovely four bedroom, four and one-half bath home sits amid the oaks on the tip of East Beach, overlooking Gould's Inlet.

Its white wood sides, shady porches and architectural railings create an elegant, sophisticated setting for beach goers.

The first floor is devoted entirely to parking/storage and offers direct access to the private pool. There is a full bath at this level as well. All four bedrooms are located on the second floor along with 3 full bathrooms. The larger of the three bedrooms has a queen bed and the two smaller ones with a queen in one and twins in the other. The king master suite is down the hall and boasts a beautiful office space as well just off the bedroom.

The third level is all common living space with an overly large living room and dining area. The fully stocked casual style kitchen provides a great setting to interact with friends and family while preparing meals. There is a rooftop deck with amazing views!

Please note, the pictured spa is not operational for heating.

This home is located within .10 of a mile from the beach - it is almost directly oceanfront.

Everything was clean except the pool and spa. They were unusable when we arrived. It was raining the first full day so I contacted them and they sent someone out to clean it and fix the spa. The rooms, bathrooms and living space was very clean. The location and views of the ocean are great. Very nice place. Would stay again.

Location was perfect!

We really enjoyed staying at St. Simons. The house was private and a short walk to the beach. I would book this property again in the future.

Great family home

Close to the beach but private and quiet at night. This was our second stay here.

Great location

We had an amazing time and would book this property again. It has a fabulous location to walk steps to the beach! Sunrise is beautiful off the porches.

Great Location

Beautiful property but for the price, I expected better mattresses especially in the bedroom with a queen bed, and in general, a more updated property. We enjoyed our stay!

Nice Quick Trip

We had a nice quick trip after college kids finished finals. Perfect location at Gould's Inlet. All accommodations were as listed and well represented online.

Hidden gem

We enjoyed our stay last week at this wonderful property. Great views with tons of space. The only thing negative I have to say about this property is in need of really good deep clean.

Close to the beach

Enjoyed our stay. Very close to the beach. Home has multiple levels lots of stairs with no elevator, so keep in mind if difficult with stairs. Beds on 2nd, living on third level. House is older, worn down but clean. 80’s fixtures, wood floor needs refinishing, older furniture worn and mismatched. That said, good spot for families, takes dogs, and reasonably priced as a result.

Great location, nice house, needs a couple of improvements

This house is in a beautiful coastal neighborhood. 45 second walk to the beach, set back from the road, great porch views. Some of the house is a bit run-down - could use some freshening. First floor shower had almost 0% water pressure. The pool is tiny and needs a good cleaning. Huge garage storage space. All bedrooms on 2nd floor - all common living space on 3rd floor.

Too expensive for what you get, and no ocean views.

It is deceiving to say there are ocean views, that is not the case. Pool was filthy both in and around the pool area. The walk to the beach is at least a 1/4 mile, which is not the rental property's issue, but considering all of the other issues makes this property way over priced for what you get. Ice maker did not work, lights on stove did not work, TV was blurry and to small for anyone to see. Again, for the amount of money we paid, expected more. However, the people that worked at Hodnett - Cooper were very nice and professional.

Great beach access!

If you are wanting a nice place to stay with easy access to the beach, this is a good house to consider. There is enough room to feel nearly private…Since you are on the end of the island, there isn’t much traffic, and I never heard any traffic noises, which is big for me. The beach is a short walk away, with an access point from your driveway! We were able to buy movies & had no problem with the wi-fi. There is everything you need…if you aren’t as picky as us. The showers were a problem for us. The pressure and finding the right temperature was terrible everywhere but the master. The towels are tiny, so bring your own. And as usual for rentals, the toilet paper was rough…bring your own. The place could have used a detail on things like the door handles, the floors & windows, and the algae growing on the plastic fencing, but overall it was maintained pretty well. The dumbwaiter didn’t work. The crushed ice/ice didn’t work from fridge door, but you can reach in and get ice. The pool and waterfall is great! But, the waterfall turned off when we were still enjoying it at night, and couldn’t turn it back on. Probably could have called to see if we could change that, but we didn’t. Also, there are no outlets by the pool, so if you want music or electronics, bring an extension chord. There was roof access that was locked down, so I guess they don’t want renters up there…such a shame…would have taken it over the edge of awesomeness… All and all, we are happy to have spent a week here.

Dirty and Dated

The house was filthy when we arrived. Walls are disgusting and everything is stained. The master bathroom has a horrible stench in it. I had to rewash all of the sheets before I would let my kids sleep in them. Kitchen is missing basic items and the items that are there are mismatched, stained and probably a decade old. If it weren't for the location, a short walk to the beach, we would have left. The listing agent was great and brought utensils and bowls and a grill grate over within a day but that doesn't change the cleanliness of the house. It needs a complete overhaul, painting, update bathrooms, get rid of the dirty carpets and mismatched furniture and restock kitchen and the place could actually be decent.

Perfect for families or groups!

We have rented several properties and this one really wowed us. The house is very large, allowing plenty of space for our family of 6 to be able to have quite time by ourselves when needed. The main living area is enormous and has a fully equipped kitchen, large living room, and 2 decks, one of which had a nice view of the ocean. The real stunner here was the rooftop deck. Full 180 degree view of the ocean. We happened to be here during a full moon and watching the moon rise over the ocean was nothing short of magical. The property is a short 2 minute walk to the beach, which we had mostly to ourselves. Also about a 5 min drive to restaurants in town. There was also a private pool on the property. Only negative would be the hot tub isn't heated, but considering everything else this property offered, it was not an issue at all. The company was super easy to communicate with. I will definitely be booking this again next time we are in town.

Great trip, but house needs some TLC.

Hodnett Cooper was easy to work with and we loved staying on East Beach but this house needs some TLC. Walls need painting or at least cleaning, rug was stained, outdoor furniture especially pillows were old and ripped. Very little ocean view opposed to the write up of a panoramic view. The house has a very weird set- up. We were constantly going up and down the 3 levels. The convenience to the beach and the fact that it was pet friendly were the pluses.

We apologize you felt the home needed some TLC, we will be sure to take your feedback for new paint and patio furniture into consideration for future updates. Our housekeeping staff does an excellent job of making sure properties are cleaned properly, but in the event they missed something please feel free to give us a call next time while you are vacationing with us and we will see that any issues get promptly resolved. The home's proximity to the beach and panoramic views from the top balcony along with the allowance of pets do make it a spectacular choice. Beautiful and very comfortable home.

This is a beautiful home and just as described. Comfortable beds, beautifully furnished and decorated and includes everything to make the stay enjoyable. Although abbreviated because of vegetation and nearby homes, the ocean view is very nice from the kitchen and living area and the beach is just a very short walk away. The pool was a wonderful perk and the property managers were very responsive and helpful. We all loved this property.
