We had a lovely stay at this beautiful property! The hosts did such a wonderful job making sure everything was taken care of. We had daily housekeeping and pool cleaning, which we hadn’t even realized were included, so that was a fantastic bonus. Everything made our stay even more enjoyable, and we would absolutely recommend this property!

Monica communicated well before our trip and continued to stay on top of things during our stay and beyond. Truly a conscientious host. Villa Valhalla was a great fit for our family of 5 couples. Everyone was delighted with the house the pool and ease of walk to other amenities.

Magnificent stay

The house looks a lot bigger in person than in the photos. All the rooms facing the ocean is just a huge plus. The pool is always immaculate and the rooms are always clean thanks to the awesome cleaners. Loved every minute of our stay. Would come back here again for sure.

Excellent Home and location

We stayed at this same property 11 years ago. The home is still in excellent condition and the location is perfect. We would highly recommend for those looking for a home walkable to Akumal with a pool and space for a large family or group.

Friends getaway

We traveled in a group of 6 couples for a week away from work and we LOVED this location. Every room was large with a private bathroom. The housekeeping service each day was outstanding.

Long weekend in Akumal

Well located and equipped property. We were a group of 12 and spent a very nice look weekend. Great kitchen and grill installation.

Akumal house

Great family vacation! All the six Bedrooms faced the Half Moon Bay and pool and had their own bathroom. Plenty of outdoor space. The family enjoyed the pool and snorkeling in the bay. The staff were absolutely wonderful.

Just want we wanted and needed

We've been to Akumal a half dozen times and for a host of reasons this was the best trip. One big reason was Villa Valhalla and the management and care team. If we can come back, we will!

Great stay!

Monica is awesome, very helpful and responsive. House is as described or better. Akumal is ver safe and walkable area, the little restaurants nearby are super. It's difficult to get into the water from the house, its VERY rocky, bring water shoes or plan to just use the pool.

Best 40th Birthday Ever!

Thank you for hosting eight of us for my 40th birthday. We had an amazing stay, with so many activities, restaurants, and bars walkable from our villa! We spent lots of time in the pool, took in the amazing sunrise views and sunset skies from the roof, swam with turtles, relaxed at YaKul, hired the chef for a fantastic dinner, tried out many of the restaurants, and even enjoyed some karaoke at La Buena Vida next door. Thanks to Cristina and Roberto for taking such great care of us during our stay. We are already planning our next visit to bring the kids!

The property is gorgeous with ocean views from every room and bedroom! The house was safe and clean, and we had cleaning service daily as well as an outside gardener who kept the pool and outside area clean and lovely. Monica was very responsive to all our needs and had great local recommendations of restaurants and activities. There are several restaurants within walking distance -- La Buena Vida is oceanfront and only 2 houses away. We also loved Taverna and Lol-ha (also walkable). You can walk to snorkeling with the turtles at Akumal Beach and Yal-ku lagoon is a mile down the road and has great snorkeling. You are a close drive to Tulum, the monkey sanctuary and all the X-parks (Xel-Ha, Xplor and X-carat) so a great location. We also had chef dinners at the house 2 nights with Chef Daveed, which were fabulous. I would highly recommend this house for an amazing Mexican holiday.

Perfect accommodations for a group

Having all master suites with individual bathrooms helped accommodate a large group of couples. We would highly recommend using the chef service - we ordered a breakfast and ended up with additional items for lunch and snacks! Outstanding food. We also had someone stock the fridge with essentials. You will need to rent a golf cart to get down to the dive shop and beach but you can rent one a few steps away. The pool and ocean front location offered a perfect setting for a large group. Additionally, the maid service was outstanding. Monica stopped by to make sure everything was perfect and offered helpful advice for our stay. 10 out of 10 - will definitely come back to this property.

Best place for a family gathering in Akumal!!

The house is cozy, well equipped and with the magnificent view you see in the pictures from every single room. The decor is all mexican style and nicely combined. The bedrooms are comfortable and each one equipped with a TV and A/C. Instructions to arrive are detailed and clear - Monica and Juan are very fast in answering any questions. We experienced a few days of significant heat as the weather was specially hot (more than usual) - it would be good to add an A/C to the living room if the temperatures continue to rise. We spent every day touring the area and the many activities/parks and ruins offered around Akumal. Then, came back to refresh at the pool with the most beautiful view of the ocean in the background. Thanks for sharing your house with us.

Large Group of Families

Villa Valhalla was much better than described. The home had plenty of space for our 17 people (four families with adult children). We traveled with several other families who also rented properties in the area. The home is very well maintained and stocked. Bedding, towels, and daily amenities were plentiful. Christina and Roberto who come daily to clean and service both inside and out were beyond wonderful and accommodating. The views from all areas, especially the rooftop balcony, were amazing. The only downside of the property (which others may see as a positive) is that the beach/home property was secluded from the neighboring properties, in that walking down the beach is not an option here. Again, some may prefer that (as you felt very safe and private), however, we had anticipated being able to mingle along the waterfront with the neighboring friends. We rented golf carts which was plenty of mobility to get around town and visit the beach. Restaurants and convenience stores are a short walk or cart ride away. Took a taxi to Puerto Aventuras mid week for a large grocery restock. I would highly recommend Villa Valhalla as a place to stay with a large group looking to relax in Akumal!!

Perfect Family/Group Vacation Spot

This home perfectly accommodated our extended family of 13. We had two adults per room and one child stayed with his parents which worked out well. We hired Daveed chef service for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and our team of Chef Isaac and Maria made our vacation!! We had a few happy hours at La Buena Vida which is only three houses away (I highly recommend the lime soup). I suggest buying water shoes at the market a few doors down (9) if you plan on any ocean activities as it is all sharp rocks. The house is equipped with everything you need, including a bluetooth speaker and tv's in every room with all stations. The only surprise to us was the fact that you cannot flush toilet paper, so I highly recommend bringing ziplock bags to contain the used tp. The house staff are very friendly but do not speak any english. Bring cash to tip them at the end of your stay (there is no need for pesos). Monica and Juan were also very easy to work with and helped us with airport transfers as well as a golf cart rental. There are a few stores close to purchase beverages, but if you have a large group I recommend stoping at Sam's Club on your way into Akumal. We loved our family time in Akumal and we all look forward to staying at Villa Valhalla again.

Excellent place to stay!

We had an overall amazing time at villa Valhalla. The house is clean and the staff was amazing. I would also recommend chef Daveed if you are looking to have meals cooked for you. We will definitely come back!

Fun in the Sun at Akumal

We were at this location the first week of May 2021. There were 8 people (2 couples) We took the family to celebrate our 25th Anniversary. Monica was available and helpful. The staff did a great job keeping it clean, making the beds and doing laundry for us when needed. The decor is cheerful and inviting, the beds very comfortable, and the pool was perfect for the kids...and adults. We had the chef from Chef Daveed and were very impressed. Beautiful arrays of fresh fruit in the morning. It was delightful having them there prepping, cooking, and completely cleaning before they left. We had them prepare dinner every other night and breakfast the days we didn't have dinner. Several restaurants close by that were very good! Each bedroom has it's own air conditioner which was wonderful because the house itself is not air conditioned. You spend most of your time outside anyway! I do wish it had a sandy beach instead of rocky, because of the kids BUT them more people would be walking by! It was an amazing vacation in a beautiful home, and was better than I could have hoped for. Thank you to all of you that contributed to making it amazing!
