Song of the south is an adorable, rustic oasis on Turkey Creek (not a fishing creek). With end of the road PRIVACY, heavely wooded and a firepit area right by the water. Song of the South is a Sliding Rock Cabin that offers a screened porch, patio and deck with a large hot tub, Gas Grill, creekside firepit and FENCED yard off of the screened porch. You may want to laze away the day in the hammock, roast s'mores in the creekside firepit, maybe hike the Ellijay and Blue Ridge's mountainous trails, then in the evening soak in the large hot tub, or cuddle up next to the fireplace and watch an old movie on your large screen SmartTV, maybe sleep in late on the King Size bed in the loft.
Main floor has one queen-size bed, a bath with shower and tub combination. Upstairs, the open loft has a king-size bed and Juliette balcony. The kitchen offers solid surface counter tops and new stainless-steel appliances. Living room furniture is leather and therefore No cats please. PLEASE NOTE CANCELLATION POLICY BELOW.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: If you are looking for a place to relax and unwind, this is it. If you are looking for things to do, then this is not the place for you. Cabin was perfect little getaway to relieve some stresses of today’s world. Highly recommend The Last Catch restaurant in Jasper, just a few miles away. Great fresh seafood! Happened to be there during a festival which was amazing. Overall I’d highly recommend this as a great place to escape to.

Favorite part is the firepit area with the babbling sound that is so peaceful and private. Love the hot tub area. The cabin has all we needed and nice a clean. This year we went to Dahlonega and loved it. WE rode the train last year and did the rail bikes this year.

Kind of hard to find but that's what you want in a secluded cabin in the woods. Fortunately the directions provided were excellent.The only improvement I could make would be to screen in the hot-tub. We didn't have time to use it, but if it was screened it might have tempted us more.Great for a couple, or two couples that are very close.

We enjoyed ourselves and all of the amenities which worked and didn’t have any issue. Definitely will stay here again.

Songs of the South is really easy to find and can get there with any type of vehicle. We will be back in the fall.

The lighting in the kitchen was still not good. We struggled trying to prepare meals. It would help if you could remove the TV cabin and put something smaller there or hang it on the wall. It would have been nice to have the screen porch clean from spider webs and leaves. Same for all around the outside of the house. I had to take the broom and sweep as much as I could. I would have brought my leaf blower if I had known. I understand you are in a low terrine that doesn't help. Otherwise we enjoyed the firepit area and hot tub.

My wife 2 dogs and myself had a great time at the cabin in the mountains. The creek in the back was awesome to sit by while enjoying a fire. I will definitely return in the future.

Fantastic Stay and our dogs would agree

Our dogs have great recall so they were able to explore the water and edge of the woods all day long. The house is located on a very private spot, very quiet and peaceful.

I loved that the creek was so close that you can hear it to put you to sleep at night. Very private. The roads were easy to access. I would have liked brighter light bulbs in the cabin because it was hard to see inside. Make sure you go to the lockbox on the front door porch not on the side of the house! We enjoyed our stay and will be back! Thanks you!

Reviewer Comments: My husband and I and our 2 aussiedoodles really enjoyed our stay at Song of the South.. the dogs loved playing in the creek and my husband and I enjoyed relaxing on the screened porch.. The king bed upstairs was very comfortable.. we were a little disappointed on our first night.. we were planning to grill hamburgers on the gas grill but the starter button was missing and we didn’t have a way to light the grill.. other than that, we had an amazing time.

Everything was as described and the creek in the back is absolutely beautiful and relaxing. Sliding Rock is truly dog friendly as we were able to bring our four dogs who loved the fenced yard and screened in patio. The stairs even had backing to the steps preventing our smaller dogs from falling had they slipped between steps. We all had the most restful nights sleep with the sound of the creek flowing in the background. We definitely plan on returning to Ellijay in the near future and Sliding Rock will be our first choice for cabin rentals.
