This beachfront villa sits directly on the sand of Playa Junquillal, offering stunning sunsets, sea breezes, and privacy. With 2 bedrooms (king + two queens) and a futon in the TV room, it’s perfect for couples or families. Enjoy the private pool, outdoor dining areas, hammock, and rancho. The kitchen is fully equipped, and chef service is available. Nature surrounds you, from nesting turtles to the nearby estuary—peaceful, unforgettable, and just 1 hr 15 min from Liberia Airport.

We respect your privacy during your stay but are available if needed. We're happy to help with local recommendations, tour bookings, or arranging a private chef. Otherwise, enjoy your beachfront retreat in total peace.

Located on a quiet, mile-long stretch of Playa Junquillal, this home is just steps from the ocean and surrounded by nature. The beach is a turtle nesting site, and the nearby estuary is great for kayaking and birdwatching. Fine dining is just minutes away, and Tamarindo—with shops, surfing, and nightlife—is a 30-minute drive. Liberia Airport is 1 hour and 15 minutes away.

This 2BR, 2BA villa features a king bedroom and a second bedroom with two queens. A futon in the TV room provides extra sleeping space. The kitchen is compact but fully equipped. Outside, enjoy a large shaded porch with dining and seating areas, a private pool, flower gardens, and a rancho with hammock, grill, and ocean views. Just steps from the sand, it’s ideal for families, couples, or a quiet getaway.

Home not at all prepared

It still boggles my mind what happened on this stay. The home is in a beautiful location and could have been a great expereince, but was not at all cleaned or ready to be lived in. The first sign was the multiple piles of animal feces around the pool. I mean how long had this home gone wihtou a cleaning or being checked on if that was the case. The inside had been just as negelcted. Dirty floors throughout. Window sills that had dead bugs and hair and a bug hari ball in the shower. Really makes me wonder what happeneded here because nobody would have felt comfortable leaving this home for a guest. I reached out to the manager and to their credit they did send a cleaner the next morning, but that was very cursory. A quick sweep and pick up the dung piles and they were gone. I wanted this to be the perfect trip that others hadreviewed but am still in a little shock about what happeneed to me and my family and how that place could have been rented out in the condition we found it.

Really makes me wonder what happened here because nobody would have felt comfortable leaving this home for a guest. There were trails of bugs going on counters and up walls. I reached out to the manager and to their credit they did send a cleaner the next morning, but that was very cursory. A quick sweep, wipe of the kitchen walls and pick up the dung piles and they were gone, bugs and everything else ignored. I know you can expect some bugs in Costa Rica and we dealt with them at other places, but not nearly like this. I wanted this to be the perfect trip that others had reviewed but am still in a little shock about what happeneed to me and my family and how this place could have been rented out in the condition we found it.

Beautiful, peaceful place to stay. Wonderful pool and cabana. Just steps from the beach. Comfortable home and easy access to many wonderful restaurants. Highly recommend!

Definitely Pedacito De Cielo

We absolutely loved our time here! The property was just perfect! We were first timers to Costa Rica and fell in love with it! Loved having coffee every morning on the porch, then taking a walk on the beach, and enjoying the rest of the day in the pool. The evenings at the recommended restaurants were fabulous. We loved every one of them. They were each unique in their own way. I do recommend renting a car. We were a bit nervous about it, but it was fine. This allowed us to venture out some. We went to Tamarindo, as well as, travelled to the National Park, Rincon de la Vieja. Highly recommend. We are already planning our next visit.

Fantastic house by the beach

Beautiful property by the sea, great pool and lovely outdoor patio space. Kitchen is a little small but had the basics. Restaurants about 5 min drive. Very peaceful area.

Spectacular

This was our third time staying at this property over the past 8 years. We love it! The pool is fantastic, easy access to a walkable beach during low tide. It is as pictured and really liked the updates to the kitchen, making it more functional and easy to navigate. A/Cs work great. It’s truly is a slice of heaven.

beautiful seclusion in paradise

The place was as advertised: comfortable with a beautiful pool area and a secluded beach just beyond the property. It was secure and the sunsets each night were absolutely stunning. I didn't want to leave. There were some nice restaurants nearby too.

Beautiful Beach Home

We really enjoyed our stay at Pedacito de Cielo! The beach was beautiful and quiet, and we also loved having a pool to swim in. The house had everything we needed, and the property manager responded quickly to questions we had. We definitely recommend this place if you're looking for peace and quiet on the Pacific.

We used this property to review and work on exploring the area. Its a nice private location, the pool is great and the beach is very private. Buy your supplies before arriving.

Remote slice of heaven

Great property - stunning sunsets, secluded beach, nice amenities. There are some less exciting realities like limited groceries/stores nearby, unexpected encounters with wildlife in and around the house and some local roads that are not in the best condition for driving. Overall a wonderful place to stay.

Holiday Paradise

The property was beautiful and secluded. Loved waking up to the sound of the beach waves. The beach was pretty much all to ourselves. The pool was a plus. You definitely need a car to get around. Some minor items that need improvement: cooking pans, & new bed mattress. Overall we would come back. Thank youmatt

A real slice of heaven on earth

My husband and I love privacy, and this was perfect! The home is so clean and filled with tranditional Costa Rican wood furniture and comfortable beds. Great water pressure in the lovely showers and the pool is to die for. If that isn't enough, you have you're own access to a private beach with fantastic waves for surfing! We will definitely be back!

Rare paradise

The house is right on the beach, you can hear the waves, and is very unpopulated. We had the ENTIRE, from end to end, beach to ourselves the first sunset. Great waves for body surfing. Was a little smaller than we expected but that was not an issue for us as a couple. We’ll bring our kids next time!

Amazing

Stayed for a month and would have stayed forever if I could. Beautiful house. The property and pool are very well maintained. You have all the privacy you could want. House has everything you need. Easy communication with property manager. Will definitely be back. Please go check out the Sea turtle hatchery on the beach.

Excellent!

I rented this home with my wife and two young children 1.5 & 3.5yrs old. We did not want to leave. The home was spotless, pool was perfectly clean and the grounds were very well taken care of. Very responsive property management group, if we had any questions she responded almost instantly. We stayed in 4 home rentals over the course of two weeks and we easily liked this one the best. Beachfront right out your door. Excellent sunsets! Wonderful place, beautiful area - would love to return someday! Thanks for having us.

Relaxing beach in paradise!

The house and property were as described and shown, and the pool was bigger than anticipated! Although the beach is hidden from view from the house (due to the dune elevation), it is only a few steps from the property gate. Spent a great deal of time in the ocean (swimming and boogie boarding) and walking the beach to the estuary and the tide pools. Had to be respectful of the tides and rip currents at the beach. Sunsets on the beach were amazing! Neighbors were very helpful and friendly. Communication with the property managers was flawless and greatly appreciated! Used the charcoal grill a few nights and ate out at local establishments...Rest. Latinos is a must for the patacones! Even during Semana Santa (Holy Week), the beach remained very private with little use from the general public. Definitely enjoyed our 10 days here!

Nice spot on the beach off the beaten path

What a lovely outdoor space this house has! The inside is as described, though, of note, the kitchen is quite cramped with the door of the house opening into it which makes food prep more challenging. The outside space absolutely makes it worth it. There’s a large outdoor table to eat at, with other covered outdoor spaces for relaxing. The property has boogie boards to use (we LOVED using them in the waves!!) and the pool was perfect for our 7&9 year olds and the beach is just beyond the property. It is about 35 minutes to get to Tamarindo, so you can take a day trip up there for surf lessons or a meal on the beach or more of the touristy vibe. The owner/manager of this place has put together a very comprehensive guide with restaurant and activity recs which were super helpful. We found being in our own spot that was more secluded and quiet was just what we wanted (after 3 days of activities in the volcano region). We had a car that we rented (necessary for this location) and we speak Spanish, which helps when you’re staying in more rural areas, but you can get by with very minimal Spanish because everyone is so friendly and helpful (and many Costa Ricans speak English). We would recommend this place!

An beatable beach front location

The beach front location is truly unbeatable / amazing. With a few minor improvements, the amenities could be as well. The A/C worked very well in both bedrooms. The kitchen is small but works well. The ice maker was not functioning. The bedrooms are spacious; the bed linens/pillows are tired. The pool is lovely however the filter is on a timer and with no access to the filter switch, when there is a blip in the electricity the filter does not restart until the pool guy comes by. In our case the filter was off for 36 hours several times. No one’s fault that the raccoons are a bit of a nuisance. The wi-fi works well. The listing pictures a large propane BBQ - it is an inexpensive charcoal bbq. The beach chairs ; it took a week to have the access to the chairs and they are old and rusty. A beach umbrella would be an appreciated addition as there is no shade on the beachfront here, and it would be great fun to set up on the beach. Lovely shaded alfresco dining areaShampoo,soap,dish soap, garbage bags, toilet paper are provided. Communication with the property manager was good.Ocean sunsets to die for!!!With a few easy fixes, and corrections to the property description, this property would merit a 10/10. That said, a gorgeous property!!! And we would book it again.
