Mountain sunsets and forest views: a modern getaway that is not far away. Two large sized and private bedrooms with beautiful views of the continental divide and their own bathrooms. Whether visiting for business or pleasure, this ideal location gives easy access to Boulder, Golden, Nederland's El Dora ski resort and Blackhawk casinos. Gross Reservoir fishing & kayaking, Golden Gate State Park and Walkers Ranch hiking/biking trails are even closer.
Convenient store(s) just 5 min down the hill. Despite the convenient location, the 2.5 acre wooded lot looks and feels secluded. Full covered patio and porch swing allows for relaxing views of snow-covered peaks I was the continental divide . A shuffleboard court and dart board also in place for those wanting some home-based fun when not out enjoying the beautiful front range.
This rental is for both bedrooms and both bathrooms, plus common and patio areas. This rental also features use of the covered garage for one vehicle which will eliminate scraping time in the morning on snowy days. Also provides a bear-proof place for any trashbags or recyclying which we will dispose of for you.
Weather normally cooler than downtown Golden (elev 5675') where Molsen Coors brewery is located. See nearby Wondervu, CO at 8600' or Pinecliffe, CO at 8060' for a comparison of how weather can change with elevation. . Last “rest assured” Note: This property does indeed have a Jefferson county STR permit number. This eliminates risk of county inspectors interfering with your reservation unexpectedly.

Great family vacation in a spectacular location

Location is nice

After driving 12 hours was told place had not been cleaned and asked us to leave and come back. Check-in process did not go smoothly, property owner not sure how process works. Location is beautiful and property is as described.

Exceeded expectations; great value!!!

Better than advertised! Great value and ADA accessible! Very clean, quiet and scenic! One hour from the Denver International Airport; a good central location on the Front Range for all of our activities and day trips to Boulder, Colorado Springs, Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peak, Manitu Springs, Rocky Mtn. National Park, Dinosaur Ridge, Red Rock, Morrison, Staunton State Park, Buffalo Bill Cody Museum, Golden and Denver. If we are ever in this part of the country, we will definitely be staying here again!

Beautiful setting

Good location for hiking and visiting Boulder, Golden, and Red Rocks. Beautiful view from the deck! Necessary amenities and suggestions for the area are provided. WiFi worked well. Beds were comfortable with nice bedding and linens. Plenty of cookware and paper products. Ample room and parking. A 4 wheel drive vehicle is suggested for the winding dirt roads and driveway up the mountain.

Owners live on the 2nd level and don’t respect privacy

The views were amazing, there was sufficient space in the apartment, 2 full bathrooms instead of one as listed so that was all good. I was unaware that the owners live in the 2nd level of the house which would have been fine except they didn’t respect privacy. There is a “private” garage for the renters on level one. The first day we were there, the wife came into the garage a couple times and my husband asked if this would continue during our stay. She said no. The husband called me that evening to let us know contractors would be working in the garage the following day. That’s fine. We came back from a day out the following day and the contractor and the husband were inside the apartment with tubes lying everywhere. They were coming in and out for a bit before wrapping up. He hadn’t told me they would be in the apartment we were staying in. A couple days later they were doing contract work upstairs, that was incredibly loud with non-stop banging until I finally texted him around 8pm asking how much longer this would go on. He wrapped it up about 8:30. We ended up leaving that night (a night early). He shouldn’t have rented the place out if they were doing contract work or construction. Also, the listing should disclose the owners live onsite and may come and go.

Shantelle, As I’ve previously mentioned , the contractor work was indeed a mistake but our location unfortunately makes such late reschedule scenarios hard to avoid. As for my wife’s plant work & watering, the good news is that the sprinklers are now automated to ensure guests won’t see us in the lower garage. Our offer of a free night for any stay of 2 or more days still stands if you or any of your friends elect to give us another shot in the future.

Beautiful area. property less than desirable

My wife, son and I were flying out of Denver International airport, and read about crime problems around the hotels out that way, so decided to check out VRBO properties that would allow us to extend the "in the mountain" aura while being a reasonable distance to the airport. This property seemed to fit the bill. We arrived at the end of a week of skiing, so arrived at 5 or so tired and hungry, only to discover than any groceries or restaurants were 20 to 30 minutes away. This would have been great info to have earlier, as we could have grabbed groceries somewhere along the route. Luckily, some blessed soul left a box of spaghettie, unopened and not expired. The three of us devoured that box of spaghetti, no butter, no sauce, just spaghetti noodles. I guess you can make due with anything, because it actuatlly hit the spot. Better than manuevering back down the mountain in the dark. The next morning, wanted coffe first thing. Two coffeemakers, first one had mold growing in the basket where coffee grounds had been left since last renter; looked like quite some time. Second coffemaker was filthy as well, but thank goodness water was good and hot, so gave it a thorough washing and risked any resistant bugs and drank a cup of coffee. Caffeine additions are a bummer.Nothing bad happened, so the cleansing must have worked. Needless to say, we headed out for breakfast. Running out of room, so bed bad, pillow worse.

Beautiful views and a super nice host

We had a wonderful time in Coal Creek celebrating a friend's birthday. The property is clean and well maintained. The host was incredibly responsive and welcoming. Lost Gulch Overlook is a short drive away and is must see to believe. Five stars all around. Thank you!

Beautiful location, very comfortable place

The listing was exactly as described. Owners were very welcoming and responsive. I highly recommend. Location is halfway between Boulder and Golden, then 15 minutes up the mountain. Not much around, but very pretty spot.

Restful Retreat

This property is nestled in the quiet foothills with so much to do nearby. What a great place wake up to deer visiting and to come home to after exploring the beautiful Boulder and Rocky Mountain area to watch the sun set.

A magical place

What a gorgeous out of the way place! Quiet and serene. We were visiting friends in Denver and thoroughly enjoyed coming back here after the days we ventured down. We also loved exploring the area near the house. The house itself was cool during a very warm summertime down below, the garden and deck were so wonderful, the kitchen was minimal but workable, and actually took the pressure off of doing fancy food - we did simpler fare which was nice. Our kids, 5 and 2, did just fine here, they enjoyed the garden and running up and down the long deck.

Nice relaxing weekend!

The property was easily located, and in a beautiful area. Inside was perfect for a quick weekend getaway, with plenty of room for our group of 4. Matthew is an amazing and friendly host! A great price for the experience. The best part was the beautiful nature surrounding the home that has hiking trails and great views.

Perfect Mountain Getaway

This was a short getaway for us to distress and unwind. The views were awesome, the property was clean and easy to get to, and we lucked out with perfect weather! We even had some mule deer visit us one morning which was neat to see for these Midwestern folks. Perfect getaway weekend for my husband and I, but the place is big enough for a family! Definitely helped us destress and recharge. Thanks Matt and Ylan!

Beautiful area and clean nice place!!!

The area and property are absolutely beautiful with wonderful mountain views. Matt and Ylan are both very very nice hosts and very responsive and helpful. Enjoyed the stay overall -only complaint would be the noise you can hear from the upper level of the home simply due to construction. Did speak to Matt about it and he is in the process of improving that aspect.

Wonderful Mountain Getaway

This place is really wonderful. It is spacious and well-tended. Everything is easy to use, it's very clean, and there is a lot of room. If you're not familiar with mountain life, it's good to know that if something is 15 miles away, it will take much longer than you might expect to get there. The great thing about this place is it's pretty remote, so you have the solitude, the beauty, and the awe of the landscape, but you're not so remote that it takes forever to get places. It's nicely located near many fun outdoor adventures. The owner is fantastic. Super friendly, easy-going, and very helpful with suggestions. And--BIG BONUS--the outdoor deck is large enough to serve as a shuffle board "court," which is actually a lot of fun. I would love to revisit this place if we're back in the mountains of Colorado.

Easy drives to Activities in the area: All within about a half hour.

Fishing, ice fishing, hunting, hiking, rock climbing, golf, kayaking, rafting, horseback riding, bike riding, atv, motorcycle riding, snowmobiling, boating, hunting, snow shoeing, sledding and cross country skiing, downhill skiing, golf, gambling, shows, Coors Brewery, and shopping. The property looks over Walker Ranch hiking and biking area and the Gross Reservoir water area, dam and spillway.

The small mountain town of Nederland is quite an experience to explore. Rafting in Idaho Springs 41 miles. Denver is also just 35 miles away where you can enjoy The Buell Theater(concerts, plays, symphony), Natural History Museum, Denver Broncos football, Colorado Rockies baseball, Denver Nuggets basketball, Colorado Avalanche hockey and so much more. Water World Water Park is within 45 minutes as well as Elitch Gardens Theme and Water Park. Breckenridge, Keystone, Copper Mountain, and Vail Ski Resorts make a good day trip. Rocky Mountain National Park and Estes Park are 60 miles away. Rafting and hot springs in Idaho Springs. Denver Intl Airport is an hour away. National Western Stock Show, Red Rocks Amphitheater is 26 miles and you can take a party bus through ride-to-redrocks. Check out Eldorado Hot Springs and enjoy a massage.
