Let this relaxing well-equipped beach home be the classic vacation retreat you need. Enjoy the privacy of a wooded setting right next to the ocean (you may even see a deer in the backyard), very close to the local golf course and less then three miles from downtown Long Beach. Enjoy the downtown restaurants, beachfront horseback riding, ice cream shops, antiquing, bakery, movie theater, boardwalk, arcade for the kids and general entertainment.
Enjoy the spaciousness of the house to relax or entertain your group. Delight with an easy private walk to the beach leading out from our large secluded back yard. Have summer cookouts on the deck or just relax and enjoy the ocean views and breeze. Let the kids or dogs play in the spacious back yard, which is encased in bushes and trees for the ultimate in privacy.
The whole group will sleep well with a pillow top king size bed in the master bedroom, a queen size bed in the second bedroom, a bunk bed (twin mattress up top and fold out full size futon on the bottom) in the third bedroom, plus a bonus full size futon in the living room. You can have all your friends and family share its ample space with plenty of room for relaxing or entertaining. Use our large expandable dining room table to seat your entire party for a getaway dinner. Curl up with a book and relax on the couch on those cool winter nights. Play games, test your skill on a puzzle or simply relax and read a nice book from our large collection.
Historically known as a fishing and clamming area, the Long Beach Peninsula now also boasts whale watching, fishing charters (inland and ocean), hiking, boating & kayaking. Enjoy easy access to Cape Disappointment in the south end of the peninsula, Ledbetter Point on the north end, Willapa Bay, the Port of Illwaco and Fort Canby State Park in nearby historic Astoria right across the river

The big beach home

Great communication including instructions around the house for everything as needed. The house was bigger and nicer than expected. There is Direct TV and OnDemand, but bring your netflix and hulu password if you want to login. At night with clear weather it is incredibly dark and you can see so many stars, wish we brought our telescope. We brought wood but they had some there. The wind on the beach was no joke, no hat stayed on without a hoodie, it is GREAT for kite flying. My 7yr old had dreams of cleaning the beach, which if you have a Earth saving kiddo just know this is a pretty clean beach to begin with. We only collected a small bag of plastic trash. Also, there were Eagles at the beach right where the trail went out when we were here and one day we saw 3 deer on the property which was magical. We brought garlic, butter & cooking wine from home and there were plenty of pans/pots to cook steamed clams and crab. We got ours from Sportmans Cannery, highly recommend for clams by the lb and a crab. For breakfast we loved Seaview Biscuit Company just a few min in town. OH! And for us a big part of our journey was Astoria OR for Goonies, Kindergarten Cop and Short Circuit filming locations ...there was a cruise ship docked the day we went with hundreds of people and lines everywhere we wanted to go. It was a big bummer. I recommend checking for cruise ships schedules (I didnt even know they came into Astoria). The house is a perfect combo of secluded but close to town.

Dog heaven!

The four of us and our multiple dogs spent 4 wonderful nights at the end of January. This is a very special house, especially well suited for little kids or dogs! The open layout makes it especially good for a group- 3 couches, a long dinner table, and everything you’d need in a kitchen. The entryway has an additional door separating the mud/laundry from the kitchen, which was helpful with an escape minded dog, and the perfect place for coats and boots. The covered porch made it easy to clean the dogs before coming in the house when it was raining. The back porch has a built in gate at its stairs to make it enclosed for dogs or small kids. The upper floor has a gate at the top of the stairs as well. It’s a beautiful, light filled, welcoming home ❤️ I was grateful for the Wi-Fi since my phone (US Cellular) had no reception except next to the ocean. My sister’s phones worked (Verizon, Comcast). There’s an old school phone on the wall. The walk to the beach is like its own adventure through the woods and dunes! We brought one of the few lanterns from the kitchen to hang on the driftwood post marking the path entrance from the beach. This was very necessary in the dark, since from the beach it’s impossible to note where the path opening is. If you are not rushing, it takes about 10 minutes to walk to the beach- we did it in rain, dark and sun! Our dogs were in heaven! Kristen was a fast and easy host to communicate with! We could not recommend this house highly enough!!!

Absolutely wonderful

This house is nicer than appears. Such a good vibe. So well appointed. Had everything we needed and more…. We had a perfect getaway.

Fantastic getaway for it all

House was lovely, just as represented, and extremely dog friendly. So much to do in Long Beach and the surrounding areas we had a wonderful stay here. We plan on returning very soon.
