One bedroom, sleeps 4, large lanai, great location, and free parking.

Our villa is on the 3rd (top) floor, with a large lanai (patio) overlooking the pool area.
Our living room has a vaulted ceiling and an overhead fan, with sliding doors going out to the lanai. Our unit has one good sized bedroom, a full kitchen, and a bathroom. There is a full size sofa sleeper in the living room.
It is a corner unit with lots of natural light, and a nice tropical breeze through the unit.
The complex is on the Wailoa River, not the ocean. Ocean is about 1/2 mile away :)
This is a 3 story walk up. The complex was built in 1972 as a Sheraton Hotel, it is now condos.

Great Place for Our Family

This was the perfect place for our small family of 4 to stay. Centrally located with a lot of dining and shopping places right in the middle of Hilo town. I would love to stay here again and would highly recommend to friends and family.

Peaceful Stay

The property is easy to get to from the airport with convenient access to get around Hilo. Parking was plentiful, the grounds are well maintained and the koi stream was nice feature.

Merrie Monarch weekend

This is usually a sold out weekend but this property became available just in time and the property manager was so generous to let us stay there. It was such a great location to everything and we had a full kitchen which is great and would absolutely book again. Mahalo nui!

Tranquil retreat

Beautiful villa central to everything, beach, town, shopping malls, airport, lovely estuary park runs right up to the villa complex. The villa had everything we needed. The complex has a swimming pool we found it a home away from home.

Visit summary - ok

The location was great, only a mile or two from downtown. And, the place was clean. Lady, the complex was very quiet. But, there was no air conditioning, which made sleeping pretty miserable, even with the fan. Also, the complex was very run down and not updated.

It’s not a waterfront property like the first picture makes you think it is. First impression was a very musty smell when you enter. The “dining” table is outside on the lanai. The area is very quiet.

Simple, older units, if you are looking for a place to sleep it works. No tv remote access, rusty furniture outside. Simple and not much to make it comfortable.

Fine if you just need a bed to sleep in

Rooms were clean and tidy. We opted to sleep on the fold out sofa for a couple reasons. The bed in the bedroom was very hard and there was no airflow in there. With no air conditioning, the apartment was very hot. At least in the living room we were able to keep the slider open to get some air. For a fold out bed, it was pretty comfortable. Location was nothing special. Like I said, if you just need a place to rest your head, it’s fine.

Like a JuCo dorm room

Honestly stayed in dorm rooms nicer than this place. The instructions to get us to the unit from the parking lot had us lost for at least 30 minutes. There is yellow caution tape all around the property. Once we got there the hallway carpet and ceiling were stained. The living room table looked like it was thrifted off the side of the road-- laminate was peeling and my 1.5 y/o got pinched and splinters from running her hand on it. With any tiny movement the bed squeakedas if we were rolling around on a pile of seagulls. We are NOT a high maintenance family at all but did not expect to stay in a fraternity house.

Pros is location, location, centrally located, 6 minutes to walmart, japanese garden, beaches. 45 minutes to volcanoes national park and mauna kea. Kitchen helped us stay in our vacation budget as eating outside daily can cost a lot. It was clean and decent. Good amount of shampoo, bodywash, handsoap, dishwashing liquid. Check in and check out was no problem. Cons is that there is only cool breeze in the bedroom, the living room/sofa bed can be really warm and not a pleasant place to sleep even with fans. The fans also needs cleaning. We saw roach, so we keep the place clean and use roach spray that was provided. No elevator, so if you have a 50lb check-in luggage, you will have to lift it via stairs to 3rd floor. Overall, we had a fair stay and is still thankful.

Great property!

I always choose a VRBO when I go to Hilo because I prefer to feel like part of the community rather than a tourist. Great communication from property manager from the beginning. She even accommodated a change in my stay very promptly. Also, the property manager does not have excessive demands when you leave the unit, just basic cleaning that anyone should do anyway. :-) The complex is well maintained, quiet, and the other residents were very friendly. The unit is clean and updated with a beautiful view of the pool and courtyard. The kitchen has everything you will need if you choose to cook your meals there. It is also very close to restaurants, shopping, and grocery stores. Like most units in Hilo there is no central heat or AC, but the ceiling fan in the vaulted living room and fan they provide in the bedroom keep the air circulating nicely. There was plenty of room for me in the bedroom and my daughter slept on the surprisingly comfortable fold out couch. I would definitely stay there again!

Basic Lodging

To unit itself was okay and about as good as it could be for that complex. If you are seeking very basic lodging in Central Hilo, this is ideal! The cover photo of a beautiful group of structures on a waterfront point is a little deceiving. Those structures on the water are commercial buildings. The apartment complex is behind these, not on the water.

Ghetto-like property

The photos provided of this facility must have been taken ages ago. It was very run down and ghetto-like. It did also not feel safe at all. Two dumpster-divers circled our car when we arrived. The owner provided one night refund but no taxes/fees. If staying in Hilo, rent elsewhere. This was cheap, but awful. Communication with owner was hostile from her end unfortunately to make a bad situation worse. We've travelled the world extensively and don't stay in hotels. This looked good but was awful. Would love to upload true photos, but the site doesn't provide that opportunity it seems.

The apartment complex is located in a central area, easy to get anywhere.
We have a nice lanai looking over the pool, so nice to relax out there.

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

The complex is an old Hilo hotel thats been...and still being renovated and updated.
It's super central for heading to see all the different sites. There is lots of parking with lots of lights, there also is a security company that walks the halls and the parking lot. There is a swimming pool that you will overlook for the 3rd floor on your large open lanai.
