An authentic cedar log cabin with mountain and golf course views!

* 18 miles West of Leavenworth at Kahler Glen Golf Course. Quiet location overlooking the 13th tee. Leavenworth is 20 - 30 minute drive away.
* 2 miles from stunning Lake Wenatchee, known for its family-friendly beach and swimming.
* Cross country skiing, snow shoeing and sledding outside our back door.
* 25 - 30 minute drive from Stevens Pass for downhill skiing.

The cabin "Big Ponderosa" is nestled mountainside among large ponderosa pine trees and overlooks the golf course. The interior has unique arched doorways and large exposed beams. This is a great place to enjoy peaceful views, family-time and nature.

TWO LEVELS FOR PRIVACY AND COMFORT:

Families and couples say they enjoy that the cabin is spacious yet offers a cozy mountain vibe. The local regulations limit our occupancy to 6 people, including children.

The 1500 sq ft main floor consists of 3 bedrooms (queen / queen / twins), 2 bathrooms, spacious living room, gas fireplace, dining room, kitchen and deck.

The 500 sq ft downstairs area consists of a rec room, 1 bathroom, queen bed with privacy curtains, electric fireplace and outdoor patio. (This lower level area is excluded from long-term 30+ days leasing and would be locked off.)

We have a selection of board games, foosball table, wireless Internet, Smart TV's, DVDs, Disney+ for entertainment.

The house is equipped with central air conditioning and has a main floor washer and dryer.

THE KITCHEN:

Our kitchen is well stocked and great for entertaining with granite counter tops and convenient breakfast bar area. There is a separate spacious dining room.

VIEWS:

The outdoor deck and garden area is a guest favorite. It has a gas grill. Outdoor furniture and firepit table amenities are provided in the warmer summer months through Octoberfest.

PARKING:

You'll park inside the 2-car garage. A 3rd car can park in the space directly in front of the garage. (Sorry, no space for RVs or off-site parking.)

We have a shared driveway with neighbors. The homes are well spaced apart and are separated by two detached garages. There is an EV charger / level 2 in the garage for electric vehicles. The driveway is not suitable for extra wide dually vehicles.

PEAK SEASON TIP:

Consider alternate travel days or 3 nights to lessen your drive times on Fridays and Sundays.

WINTER MONTHS: (November 1 through March 31)

Ideal for skiers and snow adventurers! Are you dreaming of a cozy log cabin in a winter wonderland? Look no further. Cross-country ski trails, snow shoe trails and snow play are available outside our back door.

DECEMBER:

The cabin is decorated for Christmas in December. Leavenworth is known for its Christmas lighting festival.

NAVIGATING THE SNOW:

The practical side of snow fun requires that you be experienced and comfortable at navigating snow conditions. If you are from out of state and not familiar with snow, you will likely find this location very challenging.

ALL winter reservations REQUIRE all-wheel drive vehicles (4x4, SUV, Crossover, Subaru etc.) and traction tires for access. Due to the driveway steep grade, this is required.

The community roads, driveway and walkway is plowed regularly. Drivers should expect compact snow and ice. When it snows, it can take some time for crews to get to us. Keep in mind they must clear community roadways first. This means guests should be somewhat self-sufficient and utilize the snow removal equipment we have as needed. There are shovels and a snow blower in the garage for use.

The house is located on the upper level of the community mountain roadway, which means roadways are steep but we have great views.

LONG TERM LEASING:

The 1500 sq ft main floor of this beautiful log home is available for mid-term 30 day + rental. This is a great location for reverse snowbirds.

• Sorry, we are unable to host weddings, large family reunions, events or parties.

• There is no cable TV. We have Smart TV's with apps and wireless internet.

• The outdoor propane firepit table is available in summer season, weather permitting through Oktoberfest only. It is not available in November or winter months with snow.

• For the security of the property, external security cameras monitor/record (audio/video) the driveway and front entrance point.

• If a long term rental (30 days or more) a lease is required.

• Please consider purchasing travel insurance to protect your trip in case of changes to your travel plans, illness, smoke/snow or bad weather, mountain pass closures, natural disaster outside of our cancellation window. Consider alternate routes in the case of winter weather related delays or mountain pass closures.
