Villa with private pool and garden - Free Wifi. Walking distance to TOWN

A spacious 4 bedroom villa. Upstairs has one king size bedroom opening onto the terrace with views across Quillan and the mountains. a second king size bedroom and a children's bedroom with 4 single bunk beds. On the ground floor is an additional double bedroom. Comfortably sleeps 10 but can accommodate 12 using double sofa bed (located in the self-contained bar area). Games room with snooker, table tennis, PS3 & Wii, variety of games and DVD's, dartboard, football. Pool with steps down. BBQ, lots of outdoor activities in area. Lovely town with weekly markets and various restaurants. Free unlimited Wi-Fi in the villa.

The property has a wrap round balcony overlooking the new triangular pool, with stunning views of the beautiful Quillan Town and the Pyrenees mountains.T he pool has child friendly 'Roman' steps (for the smaller guest!) and retractable safety cover for when not in use.

The garden is South Facing and completely self-contained with space to play and relax with piece of mind that small children cannot wander off.

The villa has a large open plan living & dining room, kitchen and family bathroom upstairs with separate WC. On the ground floor, opening out onto the terrace and pool is a spacious additional living room/games room with snooker table and table tennis and bar area. There is also a second bathroom and separate WC on the ground floor and the living space has a sofa bed so can sleep an additional two ( additional cost) if required.

The town of Quillan is a leisurely stroll ( 10 mins) to bars, restaurants and shops and the nearby beautiful River Aude. Within 5 mins from the house is the local boulangerie and bouchiere.

There is a gas BBQ/ washing machine, tumble and dishwasher available in the house.

Quillan has its own decent size supermarket, new swimming and fishing lakes, a swimming pool, a train that runs for 1 euro direct from Carcassonne if you fly in! We are about an hour from Carcassonne airport and 45 minutes from the nearest ski resorts. This really is a great location for all!

Quillan is also well known for cycling, walking and more high adventure activities such as white water rafting, kayaking and rock climbing.

A car is not essential but helpful for exploring the area to its fullest.

Gorgeous well equipped villa - lovely location

Tasteful villa with lots of space. Well equipped. Nice enclosed secure garden for kids. Lots to do in villa and area. Great water sports. Nice pool - great for family. Gorgeous patisserie on corner - must have put half a stone on!

Pure relaxation

We normally do the all inclusive holidays but this year decided to drive and stay in a villa. Matt the host was always available if both pre during and post our stay for any questions issue concerns we had. We were not disappointed with this property this is massive an as family of 7 we never felt we were on top of each other. It is beautiful and our kids were in there element the lol was great the same room is perfect and we never wanted to come home we will be visiting again. Happy kids happy mum and dad thanks Matt

Idyllic!

Great villa, great location, great town. Villa as beautiful as advertised, stunning views, well equipped and spacious. To wake up each morning to look at the view, who could want for more. Our party of 9 with varying ages from 57 to 19 had a great time in the pool and tournaments in the games room, with plenty of room to have their own space. The Boulangerie and Boucherie are just round the corner. We stayed at end of July and beginning of August which was Quillan's festival time with live bands and parades, lovely restaurants and bars. We did manage to venture out to Carcassonne which was amazing. We also highly recommend La Forge where we had great fun kayaking. Lovely wineries all around, we visited one in Limoux which was very interesting and also went to lake Montbel. Wonderful area, with beautiful fields of sunflowers and tiny villages have left us wanting more and can't wait to come back.

So glad you enjoyed just some of the variety of things Quillan and the Aude have to offer! Our location within walking distance to the town and with a pool ( unusual to find both combinations in this area) makes this an ideal location for lazy relaxing holidays or venturing out sightseeing and you all definitely took advantage of trying lots of things! Logement non loin du centre ville, beaucoup d'activités autour à faire avec des enfants et des plus grands! La maison était très propre et tout était adapté pour un groupe de 12 personnes.

Grand maison avec super vue

nous étions 4 adultes 4 enfants de 3 a 10 ans. Tout a fait spacieux avec tout pour occuper les petits comme les grands. Une vus imprenable sur les montagnes du p'tit dej sur la terrasse a la piscine. Beaucoup a voir et a fair des les environs. Je recommande cette location que ce soit en famille ou entre amis. Pm

Maison parfaite

Nous étions 12 ( enfants, ados, adultes, chien, 3 bagnoles) La propriété est situé juste en dehors des logements sociaux (visibles sur Map). Mais ce n'est pas un quartier à problème, pas de culture importé quoi...Le décor est planté. La maison est grande, PROPRE, et pratique avec tout les sanitaires en double. La petite piscine est entretenue, non chauffée parce que pas besoin. On peut dire que l'étage du bas est réservé à la détente parce qu'il y a tout pour bien se marrer ( billard, fléchettes, piscine, et le top : un petit salon pour trinquer en douce, loin des regards accusateurs des bonnes femmes !! 😂 Ha ils sont forts nos amis anglais !😜) Matt est facilement joignable pour éclaircir tout problème qui pourrait survenir. Une personne à l'écoute qui sera attentif à vos besoins. L'environnement de Quillan est superbe, tout est atteignable facilement :château Cathares, Carcassonne, Barcarès, gorges de galamus, belvédères, grottes de Lombrives (à ne surtout pas rater !! un must) Mais c'est surtout de retour à la maison que l'on mesure la chance d'être là. Le village et son eau vive, l'ombre majestueuse des platanes, les mirabelles cueillies au détour d'une balade...Tout est calme, parfait, entouré de plénitude...Que de beaux souvenirs. Un grand merci Matt.

Great family stay

We were 3 generations, visiting family that live in Quillan, and we had a really lovely time here. The house really a family home that you are staying in, so really felt like a home from home as does have everything you could need, which included all you could want in the kitchen and so many toys and games that our 18 month old grandaughter did not stop for 10 days. Pool was great, and was certainly big enough for the 5 of us to enjoy, and the safety cover was appreciated (though thankfully not tested). The layout of the house worked for us, with all the living and sleeping and balcony area being up top, but then an internal door to the stairs down to the front door and lover level with games room and door to pool, so it meant we could relax upstairs knowing that the little one was unable to get anywhere downstairs on her own. Loads of space for us, though a bit tight round the pool, but was no issue for us. Short walk into village centre (up hill all the way back!). Loads to do in surrounding area. We loved it and would definitely come again.

Un séjour au bord de l Aude...

Agréable maison avec piscine très appréciée par ces températures !! Un petit inconvénient la cuisine à l étage...mais comme il y a une grande terrasse où on.peut dîner on profite qd même de l environnement qui est de toute beauté... à recommander pour un séjour en famille.

Great Family Villa!

Lovely villa with plenty of room for the family; we particularly loved the pool and having breakfast on the balcony. Nice quiet location, close to local shops and within reasonable driving distance of loads of different activities. We would definately reccommend the local boulangerie, it's open every morning and has really friendly staff. The owners are very friendly and helpful too. We had a fantastic holiday here!

Ressourçant et apaisant

Très grande et spacieuse propriété, le centre-ville de Quillan ainsi que les différentes activités locales sont facilement accessibles. La piscine offre un vrai plus à la maison (elle est beaucoup plus grande en vrai que sur les photos), tout comme le billard et le ping-pong, ce qui est idéal pour des vacances entre amis !

We hebben een hele fijne vakantie gehad. Vooral veel pret gehad in de spelletjeskamer en het zwembad. Goed uitgeruste vakantiewoning. Veel fijne uitstappen gemaakt in de omgeving, vooral het raften viel in de smaak.

Great property but weird climate

Property is lovely with stunning views of the mountains and very well equipped. The games room has many things inside including a lot of computer games for the children and a pool/table tennis table. The pool is nice to chill in and a good way to cool down on those very hot days! However quillan itself is not probably an area we would return to due to it not having many things of interest to do locally for us, and only a small selection of restaurants mainly selling pizza (albeit good pizzas). The mountains also provide their own micro climate so you can go from 30 degrees blazing heat to cloudy and rainy, with half our holiday being the latter. All said it still had more sun than England! If you are adults willing to chill out, perhaps go white water rafting or walking then this will be the place for you. Or if you are happy to drive 1 hr plus to find good weather, restaurants or other activities then again this works. The owners are lovely and were very helpful and always answered any questions promptly, and I thank them for allowing us to use their lovely home. We may just go a little closer to the sea and sea food next time. For others I can understand how this would be the perfect place to stay and there is probably no better villa in quillan. In another area suiting us this would have got 5 stars and I have no doubts others will give it such.

A beautiful spacious well equipt house with wonderful views and fantastic pool.

We had a brilliant week staying at this lovely house. We enjoyed the pool, having barbecues on the terrace whilst looking at the mountains and walking into the village for dinner in the evening. The house is just a 10 min walk from the restaurants and shops, and there is a Carrefour supermarket just a 5 minute drive away. We especially enjoyed travelling out to Carcasonne for the day which takes around an hour in the car, but there are many villages closer which make a good afternoon out. The games room is fab and would be brilliant if you were travelling with children. We are looking forward to returning in the future!

Idyllic holiday

Above and beyond our expectations. Villa amazing equipped with everything you could possibly need. Beautiful location. Description of property 100% accurate! We enjoyed the local town which was only a 20 minute stroll away - plenty of places to eat and drink. Chateau overlooking town quite a hike uphill. Not recommended on a hot day!! Overall a wonderful holiday. Could not fault it.

Wonderful house, in lovely village with beautiful weather, pool and restaurants

We have just got back from an amazing holiday at the Hornsby’s house in Quillan. A well-equipped house with space for 10-12 people, it was perfect for our family of four (two adults; a ten and eight year olds). The weather in late July was perfect (normally around 30 degrees and sunny; a few slightly cooler days but even when clouds came they often moved on quickly in the microclimate of Quillan, which resides in the foothills of the Pyrenees. Much of the holiday was spent sunbathing and reading on the balcony and playing in the pool below. Most breakfasts were eaten on the balcony overlooking the mountains. Beautiful. The sitting room, kitchen and most of the beds are upstairs, with a games room, second bathroom and another bed downstairs, leading out to the pool and garden. We didn’t need the pool to be heated, which worked very well for us. It’s smallish but great for us. Perhaps a little small if you are looking to do lengths – we would guess around 7m on the longest edge, but we found it worked well for playing around in and swimming together. The games room has a good range of things to do (dart board, table tennis/decent size snooker combo and TV). The controllers for the Wii weren’t in much of a serviceable condition when we arrived, but it was fine to play for one person on some games and a very minor issue in a very well apportioned games room. There was some fun inflatables for the pool and other bits and bobs which added to the fun (snorkels, football goal, etc.). The house is a two minute walk from the leading boulangerie in Quillan, which has a fab range of fantastic breads and patisseries and we went to almost every morning. It’s a ten minute walk into Quillan itself, a journey we made quite often for dinner at one of a number of wonderful restaurants (la galleria, the café by the river in the place de la republic and the creperie just opposite the police station being our three favourites). We did venture to the beach one day (about a 90 min drive through the beautiful Pyrenees) which was lovely, but we mostly liked to stay around the house.

Nous avons loué cette maison pour le grand week-end de la Saint sylvestre, nous étions 7 adultes et 4 enfants. La salle de jeu a été très appréciée (avec son billard, les fléchettes, la table de ping pong,...). Le volume et la décoration des pièces est très agréable. After many years of hiring villas we decided to buy our own and enjoy it with the family, our three kids, their friends and our dog Mitch!
Both working, we lead very busy lives so our time in Quillan is always treasured and relaxed - whether it be in the sun trap of a garden lazing by the pool, exploring the local area and cuisine or attempting to ski and snowboard! - we hope you enjoy your stay and love it too!

The layout downstairs mean you can accommodate two families with children with a certain amount of privacy and separate space. Our games room offers family entertainment and options whatever the weather or time of year.

The area in around Quillan is beautiful and panoramic and must be explored.
