This home features impressive sunset views over the open Gulf! The whole house is set up for a beach-loving family. Located on a completely fenced 1/4 acre property, this home allows plenty of parking for a boat trailer. The new dock can fit a large boat, and the large swimming pool and tropical hut are perfect for relaxing after boating. Guests can use the four kayaks, paddles, and life jackets for water fun - launch straight off the small ramp.

What's nearby:
The city of Marathon is just under seven miles away. The excellent Dolphin Discovery Center is just over one mile away for animal fans, and the Turtle Hospital is just over 10 miles away. The Aquarium of the Florida Keys is just under six miles out. Sombrero Beach, known for its beautiful sunsets, is under 11 miles away.

The dock can accommodate a boat up to 24'. The boat lift is not accessible.

The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

Beautiful house & property. Private pool and private ocean access with kayaks was amazing. The only downfalls were the bug bites were absolutely horrible & they were in the blankets in the rooms. I guess they're called see-ums. Never heard of them until this trip. One other thing was that the pool does not have good lighting for night swimming. Everything else was amazing.

We had a wonderful time at this house. We stayed a week and enjoyed everything this property offers - snorkeling, kayaking, pool, boat dock. The only complaint are the nosee-ums... Bring a strong bug spray for when it's calm. When it's breezy the bugs are not an issue. The sunsets are worth every penny.

Some GREAT and some Not so great....

tldr: For the price point, I don't think this house delivers. A couple notes for folks trying to decide if this is a fit for you: -My wife and I were the only ones using it; felt like if there was one other couple with whom we are close it could work, but that's it. -Kitchen had everything we needed for food prep, but we kept it simple -Layout is nice - everything is close and you feel connected to others in the house. With a larger group (i.e. 2 more people) it might feel tight - very tight around dining table. -The interior spaces, amenities, furnishings, finishes, upkeep simply do not match the price point. Dirty stairs carpet; bathroom tub needs to be refinished; Pool furniture much less in quality and quantity than posted in picture, dining table chairs very worn and seats broken down, lots of cracked tiles in kitchen, etc. -YES - it's in a beautiful location; lovely to look out the windows at the gulf. -YES - it's a cute house -"SUNSET" - well, sort of. You are on the Gulf, facing NW - so when the sun goes down it's well off to your left. If you are anywhere on the ground of the property, you can't see the actual sun because of the docks/shore stations to your West. You can walk to the end of the dock at this property, but it's a very narrow dock. But yes, technically you can see the sunset from this property (note that this will shift depending on time of year) -POOL - Very nice; we bought the "heat pkg" and I recommend it (again, in February) And when it was cool, I text Vacasa and they were on it very quickly. It's a really nice pool. Pool furniture - not so much. (pics of pool furniture VERY inaccurate as of this writing - 2/25/24) and we had to ask for help with that, still didn't get "nicer" furniture) -(Pics gap- no fire ring; no umbrella by the water front; only 2 pool chairs & they were white plastic, both with white dust film and one badly cracked) -Under House - really nice area under house; we hung out there a bit in rain; Note - as this is water front, if there's strong wind, you will feel it - see "heat pkg" for pool in Feb) -Nice bathroom in "under house" area; Laundry area great Kayaks small, life jackets minimal and not for kayaking; SUP w/no paddle In Sum: -We had a good vacation (and are generally happy, positive people) -Vacasa folks were helpful, as much as they could be; responsive, nice; the maintenance guy onsite - 2x - was simply FANTASTIC, super helpful; really wanted to help and solve -The "rub" was the price point vs what you actually got; We have used Vacasa/VRBO a lot - and have had nicer properties - so this wasn't "sticker shock" and, in spite of how this reads, we aren't all that fussy - but there should be a stronger relationship between what you pay and what you get.

Comfortable home in beautiful location

This was our second stay at Sunset Sanctuary. The location is perfect, and we love the view, kayaking, fishing off the dock and enjoying the property. We had our two teen daughters with us, and this is a great place to stay if your family will enjoy the kayaking, SUP, fishing and swimming. We also love the movie collection - really good for the early dark nights in November! Be ready for the no see-ums, they can be horrible! Only four stars this time because we never received the key code to get into the house before we arrived, and when I contacted Vacasa to request the code the representative was very prompt and friendly, but was not able to help us get in. Eventually the local Vacasa representative was called and we got in, but not until after we had to sit outside for over an hour getting bitten up by no see-ums. We also were disappointed that there were no life jackets at the property when we arrived, even though they were listed as included in the property and they had them the last time we stayed. Vacasa was wonderful though - one I pointed out that the listing we booked off of said life jackets were provided, a Vacasa rep brought some out to us in a short time, and we were able to get out on the water.

Amazing sunsets!

Amazing sunsets right from the back yard, nice pool, all the supplies/dishes for family of 8, lots of pool and bath towels. Dock is great for fishing and viewing wildlife, outdoor freezer for storing bait, convenient outdoor pool bath, lots of dvds for movie night, comfortable beds, convenient laundry, upstairs custom shower sprayer nice touch. Home is in need of refresh. Paint is peeling on railings, blinds in bedrooms don’t open, carpet on stairs is dirty, broken beach chairs, loose railing by front door, cable tv cuts in and out. We didn’t have a boat but rented for a day from Robbie’s and would recommend them, reasonable price and included gps was spot on.

Little slice of heaven

Great house and location ‘mid keys’. The house was comfortable, and the pool was awesome to have to ourselves. The real ‘magic’ was the dock; we spent hours sitting and watching all the sea life. So relaxing and amazing. And yes, the sunsets were awesome. Would definitely recommend.

Disappointing

Place shows heavy wear and tear: broken lamps, non-functioning outlets, dirty carpet, and a broken dock ladder that is very unsafe. Not what we expected at this price point. The pool is very nice, though.

great house

this was a great house on a lovely property and a very quiet neighborhood. Beautiful water views and sunsets.,lots of fish around the dock . Only downside was the lack of responsiveness from management company , very lengthy delays with questions . Paid for pool heat , but it was not turned in until the 3rd day . Owners should be aware of this and change companies

Amazing vacation

Our vacation was amazing! The property was clean had everything we needed. We spent hours and hours in the pool and loved watching the sea life from the dock. The neighborhood was quiet truly peaceful.

Beautiful location

Sunset Sanctuary is just as it says! Beautiful Sunset view!

We loved the layout of the house, having the pool close by with covered space to relax under. The kitchen was very accessable and bar and dinning table gave us plenty of eating space. (We had 8 ppl) We didn't use the kayaks as we brought our boat. The dock was excellent with great view of the ocean floor. Plenty of parking out front. There were games, a corn hole set and a fire pit that was very nice to have if you needed them.

Lovely place

We were a family group of seven with five adults (three in their twenties) , one thirteen year old and a five year old. We stayed a week and loved every day of the nice size pool, long pier, covered eating area, small fishing bites from the pier and gorgeous sunsets. The property is outstanding! Clean and useful and with some kitchen items available to cook and serve. We did get on the kayaks but there are no life jackets as mentioned in the listing. We had to go rent some and some fishing rods. There are no-see-ums that bit me without fail at the pool and pier so beware. Several interruptions without notice of people coming to the property mostly unannounced. Some man walked onto the property out of the blue looking at the tree line and the pool guy came and cleaned the pool without calling first at 7 am. A person came and switched a lock on the door but she did call us first thankfully. An ability to have a locked gate would be much better but the gate does not lock. The DVD player was not able to be used but could be operator error. Mattresses and the living room seating are needing an upgrade and take an extra blanket if you can as we could not find any and do not share those well if we have two in a bed. The location is very good. We do recommend the property as it is very lovely.

Gorgeous Gulf Getaway

My family and I had an amazing vacation at this beautiful Gulf home. The pictures are 100% accurate. The house is in a beautiful location and is super clean. It has everything you need for a wonderful stay. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need for home cooked meals. The grill is clean and works great. 4 Kayaks on site for lots of great rides on the Gulf which most days is like a lake. If you're into snorkeling, you can do so right off the dock. Tons of fish to see. My family and I cannot wait to book our trip back next year!

Vacasa-management property

The house itself was perfect! Plenty of room, large supply of kitchen items. Location was perfect. Only downfall was the management company. They took a minimum of 4 days to reply to any message...Had to complete 2 loads of laundry left in the washer/dryer, paid for heating of the pool which was not done on arrival. Placed on a 15 minute hold to contact Vacasa. Regarding the pool, the pool was dirty on arrival...hope the homeowners see this and address their property management team. The house was amazing & would highly recommend if communication was better!

Great Week with Family

The property was accurately portrayed in the photos. It was clean, spacious and the kitchen had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of towels for the bathroom and for poolside. We were there with our adult sons , 22, 23 and 24 and they had a great time. Best part was the sunsets every night .

New Years relaxation

Had a wonderful stay at this property. Slice of the full Florida experience (wildlife, great weather, snorkeling, paddle boarding, exercise, and key west just an hour away!).

Perfect Place in the Keys

The best vacation with have ever had! Megan Riley was wonderful placing us in this home! We loved it. The home was beautiful. Very well stocked with everything you need. Private. You can snorkel right in your back yard. We saw all kinds of wildlife right there on the long dock…dolphins, a manatee and her baby, stingrays, lobster, nurse sharks, and all kinds of fish. We sat on the dock and watched the sunrise while drinking coffee every morning and got in the kayaks and watched the sunset every evening. Just amazing.

Sunset Sanctuary

This is a beautiful private location! The home was very well stocked in the kitchen, plenty of chairs and beach towels for relaxing in outside by the pool. We enjoyed boating, snorkeling from the private dock and kayaking. Great restaurants were just a short drive away. We had an awesome vacation!
