Welcome to VINEYARD VISTA with direct view of the vineyards of Willow Creek Winery

This unique 2 bedroom, 1 & 1/2 bath Craftsmen Beach Bungalow is the perfect vacation destination for relaxing, destressing and celebrating life, friends and family.

This authentic1920s home is centrally located on the island of Cape May in the sought after area called West Cape May. Set among the farms and vineyard of cool WCM, Vineyard Vista features its original hardwood floors and is artfully decorated in an upscale, bohemian, relaxed style, designed by both Susan and her daughter Alana (a world renowned shoe designer).


Nestled in the farmlands of West Cape May, VINEYARD VISTA is a located across from Willow Creek Winery, The Beanery and just down the road from Beach Plum Farm! West Cape May is the BEST area of the island set between the historically Victorian city of Cape May, Cape May Point and the intercoastal waterway/canal. This unique area of the island is ideal for hiking, wine tasting, birding, biking and just relaxing. All of the beaches on the island are about 2 miles or less from Vineyard Vista.

The Outdoor shower is great after the day at the beach and is equipped with both hot and cold water. The large private backyard feels like a tropical paradise surrounded by bamboo, palm trees and lighting, making it the perfect place for happy hour, cooking on the Weber grill, or just relaxing - surrounded by the nature show only a world destination birding paradise can show you.

Quiet Oasis

We had a wonderful weekend at this house. It was perfect for our family of three and was so quiet and peaceful, yet so close to beaches and the center of town. We loved our stay.

Very peaceful and relaxing place

It is a very nice and clean house. We enjoyed evenings on the screened porch and morning coffee on the patio. Beautiful location, just across from the local winery, and just few minutes walk to the local farms for a yummy breakfast or lunches. Short drive to the beach. Convenient location for biking to the lighthouse, sunset beach or cape may point. Susan was very responsive and resourceful. We loved our stay. Thank you!

Lovely property and gracious host!

We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely home. The location was superb for our 3 person group of avid birders. We particularly enjoyed relaxing on the comfy screened in porch or playing board games at the kitchen table in the evening after a full day of birding atround Cape May. Thank you Susan for your warm hospitality!

Great Spot!

Just got back from a nice April break at Vineyard Vista and my family and I give it a resounding thumbs up. It's a great, clean, comfortable home in the best, most laid back part of Cape May. A short bike ride to a lovely farm and vineyard, to beautiful beaches and nature preserves, and to fun eateries. And it's just far enough away from downtown (which is only minutes away) to feel like another world. And Susan is attentive and super nice. I hope we all return again some fine day!

This house was nicely decorated. The weather was nasty the whole time we were there. This did not allow us to use any of the outside features of this property that looked very inviting. There were many things that we disliked about the property. 1. The towel rack in the main bathroom kept falling apart.2. The whole house had a musty smell.3. The hard wood floors were severely crooked in the kitchen area. ( seems like the painted stencils were a coverup).4. Both entrance doors had glass windows. Neither had blinds or curtains .5. The bunk beds have several screws loose.6. Furniture not very comfortable.7. Queen bed frame is very wobbly.8. We did bring our own towels and linens because we seen it on another review. I did message Susan and she confirmed it. This should be disclosed in the description of the property. Probably won’t have booked it if we knew in advance.9. One little ice tray is not enough.10. The stove needs to be leveled because it wobbles.11. Bathtub very slippery, my wife nearly fell. Maybe install non slip strips.We were very disappointed in this rental. It was so uncomfortable we went home a day early. Most of these items I mentioned could easy be fixed.

Perfect for my family's needs

The house is great! We like a big kitchen, as we like to cook. There is plenty of room in the house for our family of four. Not to mention the house was very clean upon arriving. We didn't get to use the backyard as much as we'd have liked due to rain, but it's perfect for hanging out and grilling. Next up: the screened-in front porch, right across the street from Willow Creek Winery. Perfect view, comfortable furniture. I highly recommend this house to anyone with a family or even a couple. West Cape may is quiet, close to farms, the lighthouse, and birding sites. It really was a "home away from home" and I highly recommend it!

Paradise

Clean, comfortable private home across from wine vineyard, beach plum farm and Rea’s family farm. We biked everyday to the beach and to town. Biking distance to the lighthouse, sunset beach, nature trails and bird conservatory. The house was very comfortable. We did a lot of cooking, used the outdoor grill and outdoor dining area. Susan does a great job of creating a comfortable, private haven for vacation. Would happily stay here every Summer.

Family vacation

House worked out well We’re a family of 5 and we had family visit with plenty of room. Outdoor shower is always good when coming home from the beach. Convenient location to downtown cape may and sunset beach. Susan lives next door and is a friendly, courteous host.

Beautiful place

Our family enjoyed the quiet just out of town location. Riding bikes to the beach and all over town was a breezed rom this location, and the screened in front porch was one of our favorite places to be during our stay. Also super cute interior of the house.

Great stay at Vineyard Vista - highly recommend this property

My family just returned from a week long stay at Vineyard Vista. Had an awesome stay. Cottage is clean and decorated beautifully. We loved the big kitchen, screened in front porch, and back yard. The West Cape May location is perfect - across the street from a winery and a short walk to Beach Plum farm. The beaches in Cape May and Cape May Point are a short bike ride (or drive) away. Susan is a great host - easy to communicate with and pleasant. She gave us lots of great recommendations for places to see, restaurants, and watering holes. We rented bikes and visited a number of great places - lighthouse, lookout tower, CM meadows, Sunset beach, Higbee beach (seaglass), mini golf, Revolution Rail, Nauti distillery (great drinks and atmosphere), and the ferry. We plan to visit again (hopefully) in the future.

Long weekend stay

Susan was so accommodating. The house looked even better than the pictures: extremely clean and pretty. We had to stay in most of the weekend because it rained which meant we spent a lot of time at the house. The house was perfect for us.

Great Location

We had a fantastic weekend stay at this cottage. It is in a very convenient location and it's so easy to navigate your way around the area. The property was clean and comfortable, and the property owner was lovely to work with.

Relaxing

Great location, you can bike to all the attractions; favorite ride was to Sunset Beach. House was good size for our group of 6. Everyone enjoyed the screened in front porch. The kitchen is well equipped and the half bath spacious enough to double as laundry room. The Host was welcoming and lives next door; was available for any help/questions without being intrusive.

Great house, great location

Communication with the property manger was simple and easy. Checking in couldn’t have been easier. The pictures don’t do the house justice. Kitchen was more fully stocked than you could imagine. We were told we needed linens, towels, and paper products, which was a little strange at first, never had a rental house like that, but was totally fine. Don’t let that discourage you from this perfect rental! They actually had a ton of extra blankets at the house too. 5 ladies went for a wine weekend and was so lovely. Across from Willow Creek which is the best winery we went to in Cape May. That was the only place we could walk to. Had to drive and under everywhere else, but was within less than 15 minutes of everywhere in town. It was the absolute perfect place for a ladies wine weekend. Just a lovely place and time.

Wonderful weekend

This was the perfect place for a quick winter weekend getaway. So clean and a really great location! Susan was so quick to answer the few questions we had and gave us some great suggestions on what to do and where to go while we were there.

Wonderful Week

Clean and cute with everything you need for a wonderful week of vacation. Great location with easy access to winery, Beach Plum Farm, Sunset Beach with sunken ship, flag ceremony, and putt putt golf, beaches, shoppes and restaurants!!

Location was perfect and screened in porch was nice but cottage was dark and damp. There were light bulbs out in some of the fixtures. The twin bedroom was extremely tight for two people. Susan was great to deal with, quick to respond, and made things easy!

Hi Ferne, I am sorry you felt that way about Vineyard Vista? And I'm actually shocked. There was a family of 4 from Vermont just the week prior to your stay (their review is on VRBO for your veiwing) and gave the property 5 stars across the board. As 95% of our guests do. I must admit that I only have 3 active light bulbs in the dining room chandelier because I personally find it too bright with all 5 bulbs in. Even at a lower wattage. Sorry that the weather didn’t cooperate. But it was a rainy, damp weekend.

Perfect location for a getaway!

My husband and I stayed at Vineyard Vista and it proved to be the perfect rental for us. We love what West Cape May has to offer. This house is walking distance to Willow Creek Winery, Beach Plum Farm, The Bird Observatory, and our favorite walking beach The Cove. The house was clean and tidy with a beautiful front porch perfect for catching the sunset over the Vineyard. We hope to visit Vineyard Vista again this summer!

I bought my first house in West Cape May in 1998 as my beach house. I bought the house next door, which we named Vineyard Vista in 2008.

In 2012 I retired from being a skincare expert on TV to live full time in West Cape May. I have now dedicated my time transforming spaces to best host guests at numerous properties throughout Cape May County and the Fort Pierce area of FL

Although we are nestled in the farmland area, overlooking a winery and farm, we are also less than a mile from the coast of the Atlantic Ocean (a nice walk through South Cape Meadows to a protected area of what locals call The Cove.) You have the best of all worlds at VV as you are set privately in your own peaceful sanctuary, but you are also close to everything on the island! (Please see map for actual location)
