1400 sq ft house with 78 feet of private beach on sunset side of Black Lake.

Main house: 2 bedrooms with queen beds, master bedroom has additional twin bed plus futon in loft.
Above detached garage: 1 bedroom with queen bed, 1 bedroom with bunk bed that sleeps 2 on bottom and 1 on top.

2 full baths in main house. Upstairs master bedroom has private full bath.

Open concept living-dining-kitchen with seating at island and dining table.

Leave the city behind and come enjoy the beauty and activities of Black Lake and surrounding area. Our lakefront home is on 78 feet of Black Lake frontage with sandy private beach, campfire pit, and dock for your boat. Black Lake is shallow with sandy bottom and perfect for swimming and water fun. Enjoy spectacular sunsets and campfires after a day of swimming, fishing, and boating. We have 2 kayaks for your use.

You can ride your 4-wheeler, side-by-side, dirt bike, or snowmobile to beautiful Black Mountain trails right from the house. Plenty of room to park your boat, ATV, and/or snowmobile trailers. Other nearby activities/attractions include Ocqueoc Falls, UAW Black Lake championship golf course, Awakon Park (art/sculptures), Onaway State Park (bike/walking distance), Mackinac Island, cross country skiing, and Cross in the Woods and Big Bear Adventures in Indian River.

50 minutes to Mackinaw City, 1 hour to Petosky, Harbor Springs, and Gaylord.

We had a great time at the lake house. Beautiful sunset views graced our evenings each night we sat by the fire pit. The house was clean and looked just like the pictures in the advertisement. Everything worked well and we hand no issues. The owners were great and easy to work with. Even the neighbors were nice!

Perfect Lakehouse Getaway

This lake house and property was perfect for our annual 4th of July trip. The house was super clean and had everything we needed and had large windows facing the lake. The garage was perfect for storing some of our boating and fishing toys. The beach, shallow and clear water was great for swimming. The mooring chain kept my boat safe and secure. The deck had seating where we ate most of our dinners while looking out at the lake. And the firepit was used each night while waiting for amazing sunsets across the lake. The owners are next door and super helpful and responsive. I had some trouble with the bearings on my trailer and they were able to connect me with a local shop and get me in the next morning. We've stayed at a different VRBO property each of the last 5 years for the 4th of July week and this was the best one yet.

Needs a good cleaning

This is a beautiful place right on the lake. It doesn't feel at all like a 5 bedroom home because two of the rooms are above the detached garage (with no bathroom). It is also required that you pay an additional fee for using the bedrooms above the garage. I would imagine if it is hot out these rooms would be uncomfortable with no air conditioning. The home had been lightly cleaned and sheets had been changed on our arrival but the home is in desperate need of a deep cleaning. The amount of dust, cobwebs are overall lack of attention to detail was hard to overlook. The owners live next door giving the home more of a bed and breakfast feel than a VRBO. This could be a great place with some deep cleaning and attention to details.

Black Lake Home

This house was wonderful to stay in. The beach was great, a little dirty but my 2 and 1 year olds loved it. The house was as advertised. A lot of spiders but that is to be expected with a lake house. The kitchen was well stocked. The beds were pretty uncomfortable but not unbearable. The neighbors are the hosts of the home and were very inviting.

Family vacation

Lovely house on the water!

We had a great time for all involved, property was well kept. The beach was a little durty and the grass was long, but that was due to an extenuating circumstance on the owners side. The only downside would be the lack of AC in the over the garage rooms and the extra cleaning fee if you use them.

Summer getaway

This was our 2nd year at this property and somehow it was even better than the first! Hosts are wonderful – great communication and couldn’t have been more helpful – Thank You! The house has everything you need. We enjoyed the fully stocked kitchen, plenty of beds, open-concept great room/kitchen/dining area, deck, grassy area in back, sandy beach area, firepit, kayaks, beach toys, and sunsets. The lake itself is perfect for our group, but especially for the 2 younger children with us. The water is clean and crystal-clear with a hard, sandy bottom. Even better for us, the water stayed shallow (waist-high for an adult) for hundreds of yards. Great house – great lake – great week of fun and relaxation!

Family

My husband and I rented this property as a Christmas gift for our adult children and their significant others. We were looking for someplace that could accommodate our large group and have a beach area for our grand kids to play. The sandy beach was a great area for them, as well as the shallow water with a sandy bottom where they could walk out for the better part of a mile and still only be waist high. We enjoyed relaxing and having bonfires and playing games. Is was nice to disconnect from technology and just be together enjoying one another’s company.

Relaxing getaway

We had a wonderful week. Very quiet and peaceful, with stunning sunsets. Cottage was perfect for 2 couples. Super clean, comfy beds and well stocked kitchen. Water is crystal clear, with hard sandy bottom and shallow for 2 football fields.
