Welcome to Whippoorwill Hill on the fun and refreshing Guadalupe River!

Originally constructed in the early 1900's Whippoorwill Hill is an updated Hill Country Gem. The home is one of the few available waterfront vacation homes on the Guadalupe River that is located upstream from the tubing and rafting crowds downstream. Guests to this home are conveniently close to all the action, yet on a peaceful stretch of riverfront, complete with a large, shaded backyard. The Guadalupe River behind the home boasts of a unique river area with light rapids and spacious riverbanks- perfect for fishing, wading, floating, or bringing your kids along to splash and play!

The location is the best we have stayed on the river so far. People do come to the public side of the river but the area is large enough to share.

Great Rental-- Location and Unit

This rental is right on the water which was very beneficial for our group. The property we had everything we needed. Would definitely rent again.

Great quiet stay

Love the location of this house. It has everything we needed for the few days we were there. Wish the weather was warmer so the kids can play in the water. We need to come back in the summer!

Relaxing stay

We will be back! The view and the location are perfect. Great view from inside too. One of the bedrooms and the dining room overlook the river. The home is spacious and has everything you need.

Great Family River Getaway!

We had a great time and this wonderful property with our two young daughters. Good location on the river, we were there midweek so it was quiet and not too busy at all. The house was a perfect place to stay with everything we needed. We enjoyed it very much and hope to stay again!

Wonderful weekend

The house is lovely with a relaxing, shady backyard leading to the river. The kids also loved swimming in Canyon lake only 10 minutes away

Great river house

We had a wonderful stay at the river house. Our only complaint is our second day. It was so windy and chilly. We couldn't enjoy the river. The house was so clean beds were quite comfortable every sheet and blanket and pillow smelled amazing. The little house seemed to have everything we needed from pots pans utensils to books board games, and blankets! I would definitely recommend somebody who's thinking about booking to book.

Wonderful Weekend

Perfect little house at a great location on the river. Spent the day floating in front and relaxing while the teens went to Schlitterbahn. House is clean and well equipped in the kitchen. Firepit was perfect for S'mores.

Beautiful and Peaceful

This place was exactly what my family was looking for. It was well maintained and had everything we needed. It was so beautiful to wake up every morning looking at the river in the back yard. Will return as soon as we can.

Great location

Beautiful property, the location and access to the river is one of the best I’ve stayed at yet and the patio and chair spots are so relaxing. You MUST sit in the two chairs on the hill under the trees!! Only comments I would say to take into consideration are that the hill to get up and down to the river is no small feat, and although there are two bathrooms, the only standard shower is in the master bedroom, the guest bath is a bath tub with a shower sprayer connected to it but it is not mounted so unless you’re taking a bath then you have to hold the sprayer (this was not ideal but we made it work), and lastly this is an older property, if you have allergies or are sensitive to dust then you may have a flare up, we used our own linens but my two year old still got extremely stuffy every night. These things in no way ruined our time, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! I would recommend this property to anyone looking to have a great time at the river!

Wonderful!!

We had an absolutely wonderful time at Whippoorwill Hill! house was perfect for us and the location was amazing. Our kids had the best time running down the hill and played in the river for hours and hours. 5 minutes for the loop, so fast to get to for a long float around the Guadalupe! Couldn’t ask for a better time, we will definitely be back next summer! Thank you!!

Perfect location for a perfect summer getaway

It's hard to find a house that can accommodate our family well and this one checked all the boxes. Well kept and clean and a fully stocked kitchen which is rare. We made lots of memories at Whippoorwill and we hope to come back again!! We absolutely loved the part of the Guadalupe in the backyard, rapids and shallow water to play in and some deep parts to swim. Best of everything!
