Recently renovated, this is a wonderful 16th floor condo at The Lighthouse in Gulf Shores. Unit 1606 features a large balcony, floor to ceiling sliding glass doors and expansive views of the Gulf of Mexico.
This unit boasts ceramic tile floors, new paint, new lighting fixtures, furniture and a kitchen with granite and stainless appliances.
Because of the bunk room, this 2/2 feels more like a 3 bedroom unit. Kids LOVE having their own special hide away and parents love the privacy!
The master bedroom has a king bed and the bathroom features a jacuzzi soaker tub and separate shower and walk in closet with your own access to the patio.
The second bedroom has a queen bed. The bathroom in the 2nd bedroom also opens up to the hall for easy access for guests.
The kitchen in Lighthouse 1606 is fully equipped and ready for just about anything you would want to cook. The fridge has an icemaker. There is a ceramic cook top and built in microwave as well as a dishwasher.
Each bedroom has their own flat screen TV and DVD player and the unit has free wifi as well.
You will love enjoying time on the balcony. There is ample seating to have coffee in the morning or cocktails in the afternoon!
Some of the amenities that the condominium offers include an indoor and two outdoor pools, two hot tubs, a fitness room, direct beach access, covered parking and more!

Beautiful condo!

We stayed for our anniversary during the Shrimp Festival. Great location to walk to anything we wanted to do. Walks on the beach were perfect and close to the pier.

Great location and amenities

We loved our stay. The location was great with easy access to all the area has to offer. The view was excellent from the 16th floor and we had easy access to the beach. There was plenty of parking on site and the unit location allowed us to use the side elevator that was much less busy than the main lobby.

Nice place, good location

Easy access to the beach, nice condo. Close to main food and shopping area but not too close. Would stay again in the future. Wish the shower in the master was a bit bigger.

Great Stay

We stayed with our family in this unit for a week and flew in from Wisconsin. The unit was very clean and quiet. Amenities were great and we had everything we needed on site. The view from the balcony was amazing! Would definitely book again.

Great views of the gulf!

The unit was clean, roomy for a condo, and had spectacular views of the gulf/beach from a very large balcony, with plenty of seating. Condo was in a good, central location, which enabled us to walk to shopping and restaurants. Overall had a great stay and would definitely recommend this unit.

Fantastic unit and location!

We very much enjoyed our stay in this unit. The building overall seems to have had some recent updates and was very clean and secure. The unit specifically was well appointed exactly as described and clean. Excellent communication with the owners and a couple small questions were immediately answered. We would book here again for our next stay!

Great condo

Beautiful place. Had a stunning view of the beach from the 16th floor balcony. Living room was laid out very well. Awesome jacuzzi tub in the master bath. Pool area was nice too. No issues with cleanliness. Owner of the property was easy to get in touch with. Very happy with our stay & would come back.

Great family getaway place

The condo was clean and neatly decorated. All the necessary kitchen items were on hand and there were plenty of towels for our family. The master bathroom jacuzzi was relaxing. The beds were comfortable. The pools were kept nice and clean. They were usually busy, but not in a bad way. When we found an issue, it was promptly fixed by the owner. The owner had great communication! We will definitely stay here again!

Disappointed

We arrived early morning after driving all night ready to crash in our bed. We paid early check-in fee to be able to get into the condo upon arrival. The condo had been set up to appear cleaned with fresh towels and beds made. However the condo was nasty - floors were filthy, bed in both rooms had hairs in them (clearly dirty sheets), the bunk beds were covered in chip crumbs, trash in bathroom trash cans, etc. it took lots of back and forth with the property manager and condo owner, but we got the condo cleaned mid-day that day. Meanwhile, we had to take all of our stuff back out to the car, and pay over 300 for a hotel for the day to get some sleep. I do not feel like we were accommodated for our troubles and inconvenience in this situation as we only received the early check-in fee back and cleaning fee. Additionally, the master bathroom ceiling is very concerning - appears to have mold on it and the vent is hanging off the ceiling with a lot of nastiness in it.

The View

We have stayed at Lighthouse Condos for 3 years and this one was the best! The kitchen had everything you wanted.The beds are not as soft as we like but not bad. The View was amazing! You could see sunrise and sunset and not even have to leave the condo. Also it didn’t show in the pictures but it was nice to have 2 beach chairs and toys for the beach. The only thing I would say is maybe have more blankets or bring your own. Would stay again!

Mold covering ceiling, owners refused to correct in a timely manner

When we arrived to the unit, we found that black mold was covering the ceiling of the master bathroom. We messaged the owners right away (particularly due to our son's asthma and known allergy to mold), but the owners refused to have it cleaned and stated that "they would arrive the day after we leave and they would clean it then". It took four days of communications (only a 5 night stay stay) until they finally agreed to have the property manager come out to kill the mold and clean it out. Thus, for the duration of our stay, we only had one small guest bathroom for our whole family to use. When we requested a discount for this (as we had paid a significantly higher price for a two bathroom unit with a master bath with jacuzzi), the owner said "we will refund your cleaning fee of $150 b/c the unit was not cleaned to your satisfaction". This was a safety issue for our family and no one rents a unit for just over $500/night and expects a mold covered ceiling. Completely unacceptable that the owners not only refused to correct this situation in a timely manner but then they also refused to provide a sufficient discount for what turned out to be a one small bathroom unit. Please be aware if you decide to rent this unit and also call VRBO right away if the owners are unwilling to correct a safety situation for your family.

This condo is so clean and nice. The host replied quickly when I had a question. View of the beach from the balcony is beautiful. Pool area is the nicest I’ve ever seen. Will definitely be staying her again. 10 out of 10 all the way. 5 stars for everything

As always, a wonderful experience!

This was our second stay at the Marcelle’s property and our experience this time was just as great as last year! Excellent condo and such a great location. My wife and I stayed here with our 4 and 2 year old. They LOVED the two outdoor pools, the two hot tubs, and the indoor pool. Do not hesitate to stay at this property as the Marcelles are wonderful and easy to work with. Can’t wait to stay here again next year! Thank you for another great experience!

Summer joy!

Really enjoyed our week stay on the beach. The rooms were nice, everything worked as expected. Check in and out were very easy. Just the way I want vacations to go! I was worried about being on the 16th floor, but the side elevator was often times faster than the middle 3. I didn't have any large delays checking in or out. My only suggestion would be to have a secured wifi instead of an open wifi. The signal was challenging at times - but I wasn't there to work - so it allowed me to unplug better than usual.
