Only 90 minutes from the Chicago area, Michiana Shores is home to quiet Lake Michigan beaches, lovely wooded areas and stunning sunsets. Your adventure awaits at this gut rehabbed modern farmhouse that is just a short stroll to Lake Michigan beaches. This home boasts 3 floors of enjoyment and comfort for up to 14 guests.

First floor has an open floor plan with living room, dining room and well-stocked kitchen, master bedroom w/walk-in closet, full bathroom, large screened-in porch

Second floor has 2 large bedrooms and full bathroom

Basement has a separate sleeping area/bedroom, 2nd living room/family room stocked with puzzles, games, movies and kids' activities, laundry room

Good sized front and back yards for badminton, bocci, or croquet; firepit.

All the amenities you would come to expect in a quality rental such as internet, cable, washer/dryer, central heat and air-conditioning, grill, firepit, ceiling fans, 2 flat-screen TVs, beach canopy, beach towels, Lilypad water mat, bicycles and more.

Explore the nearby restaurants, golfing, tennis courts, berry picking, Blue-Chip casino, antiquing, shopping and much more.

Please make sure to ask us about the beaches before booking if you are not familiar with the area. There are 5 beaches within walking distance and they are not all open at times due to the recent high water level in Lake Michigan.

Beautiful Home

Home accomadated all 10 of us comfortably. Kitchen has everything you would need. Excellent beds, linens and towels. Loved it and cant wait to book another girls trip!

Exceptional home and location

House and furnishings are high quality. We loved the large tables inside and on screened porch. Kitchen is fun to cook in. Beds very comfortable. Enjoyed three floors so could play w grandkids in basement while others slept longer. So many beach toys and bikes. Neighborhood is quiet, friendly.

Beautiful home and location

We loved the house and the location. The house was spacious, had very comfortable beds, showers and wonderful linens. Lots of space and a short walk to the beach which we walked to even when it was raining. Can see Lake Michigan from one of the upstairs windows. We loved the kitchen and enjoyed cooking there. Basement play area was perfect for the 4- and 7-year old's. Large table let us eat AND have a craft/book area for the girls. The area is quiet, great for walks.

Love this amazing family friendly home!

We loved our stay at this gorgeous home in pristine Michiana. The listing is spot on in all it's descriptions. The kitchen is incredibly well stocked for a large group, complete with a LeCrueset we used to bake many loaves of sourdough bread! During our stay, a big storm came througn and the power went out. The generator began firing within seconds, amazing! Our favorite place to be besides the lake was around the 14 seater table on the screen in porch, eating and sharing our day together. The walk to the beach is very short. The beach was never too crowded and very clean and pristine. The beds were very comfortable andthere are tons of fresh towels for all. It was a little difficult sharing 2 bathrooms with 13 people but we made it work! Will definitely stay here again!

Wonderful home in great location

Can’t say enough about our time in the house. First impression was the owner was fantastic with my pre rental questions. Upon checking in, the house was immaculate and so comfortable. Best beds in any rental we’ve stayed in - so comfortable. A GORGEOUS beach was a 3-4 min walk away. It was early fall & we were the only people in the beach each time we walked there. We visited a few cute towns nearby and an orchard. Our family loved all the games & the yard games / fire pit. Our kids spent a lot do time in the great basement playing foosball and other games. I LOVED cooking in the kitchen. It was like a Nancy Meyers roll com… super modern yet with cozy touches. Both indoor and screen porch tables were very large and perfect for our two families to eat, play games and laugh. We hope to visit this house again next year. I would HIGHLY recommend!

Perfect Family Getaway

This beach house was perfectly stocked and amazing for our family vacation. It is a gorgeous home, the owners were magnificent to work with- helpful and accommodating. We rented the home the week of Memorial Day and it was pleasantly quiet as most of the local schools were still in session and it was before the peak tourist season. Everything was clean, comfortable and felt like home. We hope to stay again in the future!

Great for a small family reunion

The house was beautiful and spacious. more spacious than the pictures show. Everything was well stocked. The main floor had great gathering places and our teens loved the foosball table in the basement. It was a short walk to the lake. The neighborhood was lovely to walk through with interesting, varied architecture.

Great place!

Beautiful home with lots of space for family to gather. Fully stocked kitchen and fully stocked garage full of all things you need for the beach! The location can’t be beat. Right around the corner from the beach. Owner was very responsive, too. Will absolutely return!

WONDERFUL!

Our family had an absolutely wonderful stay. The home itself is beautiful and perfectly located! The quality, cleanliness and aesthetics felt nothing like a "rental" home, but the hosts certainly provided EVERYTHING a renter would wish to have when visiting the area: all fun and practical things for the beach and lake, bikes, campfire materials. ALL SO THOUGHTFUL. And the layout of the home is amazingly comfortable -- plenty of together and individual places to hang out. Just a great overall feeling. The hosts are attentive, responsive and lovely at every touchpoint, and it carried through our vacation experience. Thank you for a great vacation week. We hope to stay again.

Easy to rent home and location, location, location

This is a beautiful home, with a large kitchen that enocourages getting together. The upstairs bedrooms were bigger than expected. The house was very clean and ready to go. Check in was easy, with an electronic door lock, so our multiple family members could get in and out without physical keys. The location is really great. I rented this place after careful consideration, as I have been looking to buy in the area, and I know the area block by block. This house is a great place to set off for long walks, go jogging, or head to the lakefront to see the sunset. (The beach was actually washed out this year in many places, but you can walk along the street above the beach.) The grocery store in downtown New Buffalo is surprisingly good, given the small size of the town. Cell phone coverage in Michiana and Michiana Shores can be spotty and limited. That's good if you are trying to get away, but it was challenging for us, as we were doing remote working and schooling. We had minor issues with the internet the first day, and the host called Comcast which resolved the problem. So the moral of the story is reach out to the hosts -- they will quickly help out. I would definitely stay here again. The house, hosts, and location were a great getaway from Chicago.

We had an great time. The house is suited for large families and is very nice. The basement is a great place to let the kids play and be silly. The kitchen has everything you'd need. The neighborhood is quiet and unique, and the architecture is amazing! We will stay here again and would recommend it to others.

Absolutely Wonderful

The pictures do not even do it justice. Stunning home, wonderfully kept and so clean. We had a wonderful stay and it had everything we needed and then some. The walk to the beach was beautiful and fun. We will absolutely be back. :)

End of Summer Getaway

We spent a long weekend (our second trip to the house) and again had a wonderful time. The home is clean, spacious and the owners are great communicators. Access to the beach is close, extra chairs and beach toys are great as well. Highly recommend the home and the owners.

Beautiful, well-stocked house

We stayed here with our family of 4 and had another family of 3 joined us for a few days. Everything in the house is in great condition, and the kitchen is fully stocked. The 2 big rooms upstairs are great for kids or a family. I loved relaxing on the screened in back porch every morning, followed by a run or walk along Lake Shore Drive, which is a block away. They have a ton of games in the basement, which we took full advantage of. The backyard is big enough for a game of soccer or bags, and has a nice area with a fire-pit and grill. Great place to relax and get away!
