Stay in the Heart of Fish Creek - Walk Everywhere - 4BR Cottage & Firepit

We’re four siblings who grew up in this very house and share a lifelong love of Fish Creek and Door County. After renovating our family cottage, we decided to share it with guests so others could experience this special place the way we always have.

We know the peninsula well and love helping guests make the most of their time here. We’ve filled our welcome binder with our own favorite restaurants, activities, shops and local tips—and we’re always happy to help with recommendations.

Fish Creek has always been home to us, and we think it’s one of the best places to experience Door County.

The cottage sits right in the heart of town, close enough to the water that you can see it from the front yard. Walk a block to concerts and events at Clark Park, or stroll a few blocks to Fish Creek’s restaurants, shops, coffee spots and waterfront. Peninsula State Park is also right at the edge of town, putting one of Door County’s best outdoor destinations practically in your backyard.

Fish Creek is also an ideal starting point for exploring the rest of the peninsula. Egg Harbor, Ephraim and Sister Bay are an easy drive away, and Baileys Harbor and the Lake Michigan side of Door County are easily accessible across the peninsula.

And don’t overlook Fish Creek in the off-season. Winter brings a completely different kind of Door County getaway: quiet streets, a cozy fire at the cottage, sledding at Hill 17, cross-country skiing in Peninsula State Park and traditional candlelight dinners at the White Gull Inn. It’s peaceful, beautiful and one of our favorite times to be here.

The Cottage in the Creek gives you something that can be surprisingly hard to find in Door County: space for a group to stay together without giving up a truly walkable location.

With four bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, comfortable gathering spaces, a well-equipped kitchen, fireplace, reading nook and seasonal outdoor firepit, the cottage was designed for families and groups of friends to enjoy time together.

Then there’s the location. Park the car and experience Fish Creek on foot. The heart of the restaurant and shopping district is just a couple of blocks away, with the waterfront, beach, coffee, fish boils, shops and local events all within an easy walk. You can head out for dinner or drinks without worrying about driving home, grab coffee in the morning, or wander down to the water on a whim.

When you do want to explore, Peninsula State Park and the rest of Door County are within easy reach by car or bike.

Most importantly, this isn’t a house we purchased simply to turn into a vacation rental. It’s the home the four of us grew up in. We renovated it with a lot of love while keeping the character and sense of place that made growing up in Fish Creek so special. We hope our guests get to experience a little of that during their stay.
