Unpack and start your vacation. Our home is located in the village of Captiva within walking distance of shops, restaurants, beach, bay, pool, and tennis courts.

The house is a 2 bedroom, loft and can accommodate up to 6 people. We also have a separate office.

We pride ourselves on the condition of our home. We have our own private cleaner.

If you take a moment to read our reviews they will speak to the condition of our home.

One more thing to add. We like to keep fresh herbs growing on our stairs for your enjoyment.

Beautiful home in Captiva

We had a wonderful time at this beautiful home in Captiva. It has a lot of space, and is extremely close to the pool and beach. We hope we will be able to stay there again!

We had an amazing time at Sunset Captiva.

The house is fantastic. This was our second stay and we will be going back again in the next couple of of years. We had a great holiday.

Very clean and organized house. Close to everything in Captiva. The house had everything you need for your vacation. I highly recommend this house for your vacation.

The perfect house

The house has everything you need, clean and beautiful! Totally updated, the owner does everything top notch! Great location, very nice community! Walkable to everything on Captiva! Our family had a wonderful vacation! Will most definitely return!

Truly magical!

We loved ruth's beautiful home and are already making plans to come next year. The house is all you can ask for - tasteful, comfortable, clean and walking distance to beach, activities and restaurants. The bunnies around the property are icing on top of an already magical experience.

Wonderful stay!

We couldn’t have been happier with our stay. Lovely home, fully equipped/updated kitchen, great screened in porch, awesome sun deck off the main bedroom. Ruth was easy to communicate with and offered suggestions for local restaurants. So nice that beach chairs, umbrellas, and beach cart are part of the rental! We’ll be back for sure!🎉

Captiva paradise!!!!

We just returned from a week and wished it was longer. Everything we needed in a vacation home was available from plenty of beach towels to kitchen untensils. Home was clean and ready when we arrived. Perfect central location for all that Captiva offers. We are already looking forward to next year!

Great location and property.

Only suggestion is that the mattresses and pillows need to be replaced and upgraded. They were very uncomfortable. Other thank that we loved our stay!

Interesting because the mattress in the master was shipped from our mattress maker in Salem mass and the downstairs twins are top of the line from city mattress.

A lovely getaway...

Everything you need within easy reach...rent your bikes at YOLO around the corner or just walk to the beach. Lovely breakfast down the street or dinner overlooking the water at the Green Flash. Coffee on your lanai or a specialty brew down at Boops. Whatever your pleasure, you can find it close by. The owners clearly love their oasis and take good care of it. Nothing lacking and we would gladly stay again. Thank you!

Beautiful property for a beautiful place!

Family wasn’t sure we would be making our annual beach trip to Sanibel/Captiva due to the rebuilding after the hurricane last September (2022). This property was perfect for our family! Fully equipped with literally everything you need for a comfortable stay! Top of the line appliances and beach equipment made for an enjoyable stay. We look forward to returning to our family’s favorite beach and hope to stay at this property again! (Only longer than a week!) Thank you “Ruth” for allowing us the privilege of staying in your beautiful home!

The BEST of Sunset Captiva

After having stayed in several other houses in Sunset Captiva this was our favorite by far! First off the house is tastefully decorated with higher end furniture so it was comfortable. The layout of the house differs (some have galley kitchens) while this has a large open concept living/kitchen combo with a large island that is perfect for cooking and gathering around happy hour snacks. The kitchen was super well stocked with anything we needed and the addition of beach chairs, beach towels and pool toys was fantastic. Ruth was super responsive to my questions and very easy to work with. We are so sad to be leaving Sunset Captiva #50 and hope to return soon.

Another excellent vacation.

As always, Ruth was so easy to work with, and we had yet another great week at Captiva. This is our third year renting this house, and we keep coming back for several reasons; First, we live about 45 minutes away, but when we get there, it's like we are on vacation. When you live in Florida, you work and do not get much beaching time. It's easy for us also because if there is an emergency at work, which there always is for my husband, he can go quickly, and come back quickly. Second, the house is always clean and well appointed, and Ruth is so very easy to work with and so kind. This year we got a special surprise and a kitchen renovation had been done. It is absolutely beautiful and so nice to have. Third, it is close to everything. We never even drive our car when we are there. All restaurants are walking distance, the beach and pool are very close, and the marina is about 3 minutes away. Boat slip is great and all the guys at Jensens marina are very nice and helpful. We fish everyday, and they can tell you where to go, what bait to use, etc. We always come back with lots of great memories and many new shells to add to our collection. Great time and great family time. If you are looking for a very relaxing vacation without alot of "costly things to do" and are not in need of nightlife, this is paradise. Thanks again Ruth for having us, and until next year, be well.

Beyond Spectacular

This was my first time back to Captiva in 10 years and it was my fiancé’s first time visiting. Captiva was my family’s annual vacation for more than two decades, so there was a lot of “pressure” on this trip to live up to everything I remembered from years’ past! I was absolutely blown away by this house. Not only is it beautiful, but Ruth makes sure you have absolutely everything you need. The beach cart, umbrellas, pool/beach rafts, etc. made everything seamless for us to just walk the couple minute path to the beach and have a great day. We did not do much cooking but we could have made virtually any meal we wanted to with her appliances and cooking tools. The walk into town was so easy and we enjoyed taking a couple of Captiva Cruises (Wildlife Sunset and Cabbage Key) from McCarthy’s around the corner. Most mornings we ate breakfast on the beautiful enclosed patio and listened to the birds chirping! I could go on and on (and already have), but bottom line is Ruth is an absolutely exceptional host and we were so sad to leave that we are already trying to plan our return trip to this house! Thank you for such a wonderful experience.

Perfect spot on Captive

The property listing is accurate and the house has everything we needed to enjoy our stay on Captiva. This included beach towels, beach chairs, a great big wheeled rolling cart (that made it easy to make it over the steps of the boardwalk), coolers, and an umbrella. The house is in great shape and comfortable, the kitchen well stocked and nicely appointed, including a much needed blender. The beach is a short walk, just take the boardwalk by the pool, 5-10 minute easy stroll. And restaurants and the island's general store are just as close of a walk down the road. Only thing I could wish for for a future stay would be more pillows since my wife and I are definitely used to more than one each.

Awesome Family Retreat!!

This was our 3rd year visiting Sunset Captiva. It's a calming community that is well-maintained with a good beach. The house was very nicely updated with ample beds & living spaces for larger families. All of the things you need for a fun beach vacation are provided. Thanks to the homeowners for the opportunity for another wonderful Captiva vacation.

Exceptional Home

This is the place to stay on Captiva Island! Our family of six absolutely enjoyed our stay and have never felt more at home. During the day we easily walked to the pool, beach, bay, and downtown, and in the evening we enjoyed playing cards, reading, and talking while spending time on the screened in porch. The house is very clean and the attention to detail is second to none. The hospitality, responsiveness, and care that Ruth provides is top-notch!

So enjoyed our stay!

Loved our week in Captiva. Ruth was a responsive host and the place was clean, clean, clean! The location is perfect, the pool was nice, and the house had every amenity you would need to a peaceful relaxing week. The screened in porch was our favorite spot of the house. Definitely will be booking again next year.

Perfect as Always

My family has been coming to this property since 2011 and we wouldn’t consider any other place on the island. The decor, location, peacefulness, and excess of small details you may need for day-to-day vacationing with family can’t be matched. We all feel really grateful for our times here.

A wonderful vacation all around

I planned this vacation in Captiva knowing very little about the place. I was looking for a relaxing vacation with my adult children, we certainly had it. Ruth’s house has an excellent location, within walking distance of many good restaurants and the bicycle rental place. The house is in a very nice complex with pool, tennis courts and grills. There is a wooden boardwalk that leads to the beach. The house comes with all the necessary equipment to enjoy the beach and make the stay easy. I loved to have a fully equipped kitchen so I could prepare meals and an excellent laundry room to do laundry. We enjoyed having our breakfast in the screened porch and being close to the marina to visit the manatees in the morning. I hope we can return soon!
