Luxury Lakeside Cabin - A Stone's Throw

Luxury lakeside log home with outdoor hot tub located in the southwest quadrant of the lake. This property features a beautiful protected cove just behind Grandma’s island. Private natural beach provides easy access to the lake. Beautiful outdoor fire pit entertainment area.

Luxury log home with three levels, with an outdoor entertainment area and large yard. The unique stone walls complement the log-cabin feel of the architecture. The unit offers both an upper deck for grilling and a lower covered porch. The covered boat house offer plenty of sunbathing space and areas to swim. There is access to your own private beach on the property featuring a gentle slope with shade provided by mature pines. There is an outdoor professional grill for those barbecue aficionados. This is definitely a property for those who want to be outside, with plenty of patio seating for all.

Custom built dock featuring a dining area with granite countertops, a 58 inch TV, WiFI, and a Bluetooth sound-bar. Fire pit right on the dock! 2 kayaks available for use during your stay. Lift capacity to hold a 25 ft. boat up to a 8.5 ft. beam and a maximum weight of 5000 lbs. 10 ft water depth off right off the dock! Closest boat ramp is a 4.7 miles, 8 minute drive, located at 432 Bluebird Rd, Littleton, NC 27850

On clear nights you can watch Cape Canaveral launches from the deck!

Our family had an amazing weekend at A Stone's Throw! We thoroughly enjoyed the various places to relax outdoors, including the boat dock, fire pit area, hot tub, deck, and patios. Excellent hosts! The house is well-equipped and the amenities made the trip more enjoyable for the family. We would not hesitate to stay here in the future or recommend to friends and family.

Wonderful family vacation!!

We recently stayed at a Stone’s throw with our family and it was a wonderful trip!! The property is in a great location and the boat house is awesome! The host is extremely responsive to all questions.

Great Dock

Lake Gaston 2025

This home is absolutely amazing. We stay at a different lake evey year and this place was by far the best. We spent most of our time on the dock and it had everything. (Boat lift, TV, Sound Bar, Lounge Chairs, Fireplace, Table and Chairs, Bar Area and a Refrigerator.) The owners were very freindly and accommodating. We will definitely be back here again.

Great Lake Home!

Beautiful log home on a nice cove off the main lake. Our favorite part of the stay was the covered dock with a large screen TV with a nice sound system and internet connectivity. The boat lift could easily handle our boat. Nice quiet cove where we could swim to the opposite side of the cove.

Family trip

A Stones Throw was the perfect home for our family vacation! Nestled in a quieter cove so no worries about big boat waves for the little ones swimming… but mostly just the thoughtful touches provided by owner was exceptional! Everything we could have needed was provided from kitchen utensils to comfy throws to snuggle in on our one rainy day…. It really is the perfect place for us! You’ll want for nothing at this home!

The Best Vacation

This property had it all. We thoroughly enjoyed staying at A Stone's Throw. It had everything a guest would need. Our favorite was the outside areas from the fireplace, the boat dock, the top deck, and the hammock. The peace of the lake was unforgettable. I am a beach lover, but I think it is fair to say the lake won me over. I would definitely return!

Amazing Stay!

We just got back from our 8th annual girls vacation at the Lake & it was one for the books! We had the absolute best time! The house was exactly what we needed, the hot tub & outdoor fire place were perfect for our chillier than normal nights & the dock was spot on what we look for every year! The owner was quick to respond & the property manager was lovely. We would love to come back & visit again in the future. We also loved Dennis "The Menace" .. he was the best neighbor.

Great location

The property is nice and the location is wonderful. We had a fantastic time. Our only point of feedback is that we were unaware we needed to bring our own towels and sheets. This was inconvenient and not what one would expect from a luxury rental. We wish this information had been more explicitly visible on VRBO.

Family Fun Time

This was our third year staying at A Stone’s Throw. The fact that this is our third year says a lot about the property and hosts. The home is well appointed, the kitchen is well stocked, the beds are very comfortable, and the boat house is well stocked with lounge chairs and water toys. Communication with the hosts is excellent. Any time we had a question they responded very quickly. Our entire family highly recommends this beautiful property.

One of Lake Gaston's finest properties!

We are just coming off a week's vacation at this amazing property. The outdoor space is fabulous! One of the King size beds is in an open loft and it hindered our ability in the early mornings and late at night to talk freely. The kitchen was so well stocked and there is a gas grill and smoker there to use. We had a fire in the outside fireplace which is next to an outdoor patio where we ate dinner each night.Just lovely!

Wonderful vacation!

A Stone’s Throw was everything you see and read about. This was our favorite family vacation. As others have said, the outdoor spaces were as good as it gets. We enjoyed quiet mornings drinking tea and coffee on the upper deck. The covered area was a great place to play cards with kids protected from the sun. Of course, we used the gorgeous outdoor fireplace for s’mores. And the dock was a fantastic place to sit in the sun or shade while the kids reeled in lots of fish. The small beach area was great to launch the kayaks and for little ones to play. The quiet cove was perfect. The outdoor spaces were incredible, but so was the interior of the home. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable. We loved the cozy feeling the cabin style home provided. Can’t say enough good things about this home!

Perfect location and amenities

Just a quick weekend getaway. Great communication from owners. Loved every minute—the house is perfectly situated with quiet, deep water access. House had anything you could need. Beautiful landscaping, deck, and dock. Comfortable beds. Hope to return.

Such a great time!

This house is an outdoor paradise! It has so Many places to hang out outside. And the party dock is perfect- plenty of shade but also places for sun worshiping. Nice deep water was the perfect temp and very clean. Small beach area for kids to get in too. Kitchen is very well equipped. Seriously, you don’t have to bring any cooking supplies from home! We had plenty of room for 4 couples and 3 little girls under 7. We all had a blast! And we didn’t even rent a boat! Hope to come back again.

A Stone’s Throw is a Real Catch

This is our family’s second visit to this particular property. As per last year, it did not disappoint. The boat house is very well equipped and was exceptional in its amenities as well as having shaded area to get out of the hot sun. The house is very well equipped in all areas. The kitchen has every gadget and piece of equipment a cook could need. There were lots of games for the kids and plenty of space to gather and/or spend some solitary time. The addition of the jacuzzi was a definite plus this year! We have already rebooked for next summer. Thank you for opening your home to others. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Fabulous lake house

We’ve stayed a “A Stone’s Throw” multiple years in a row and it gets better every year! A well stocked kitchen, incredible dock, quiet cove, new hot tub, beautiful views from the deck. Owners are very responsive. You won’t be disapppinted!!

Family vacation

The property was beautiful. We spent most of our time at the boathouse which was just wonderful!! The grille and smoker were used all the time. The owners were very responsive with any questions. I highly recommend this property.

Family vacation

Outside was great. Dock was great Loft should not be considered a bedroom. Had a situation with some leaks and mold was seen in loft. Overall had a great time.

We consider ourselves very lucky to be able to enjoy beautiful Lake Gaston. We both are originally from the Midwest, transplanted by the Navy to Norfolk, VA. Over the last several years we have been able to spend countless weekends at Lake Gaston. In 2019 we had the opportunity to purchase A Stone's Throw from the previous owner. We could not pass the opportunity to build memories at this beautiful property.

A Stone's Throw is not a house on the lake, it's an authentic luxury lakeside cabin. Our property features a one of a kind custom dock and a gorgeous outdoor fireplace. The beach on the property was a great feature for us and our family. The gentle slope into the water is perfect for kids and adults who enjoy wading in the water.

The original structure was erected in 1978 with the addition of the kitchen and downstairs bedroom added in 1994. The property has been cosmetically renovated multiple times throughout the years.
