Impeccable deck and views, spacious and comfortable space. We enjoyed the comfy bed, lovely shower and soaking tub.

Amazing view and local wildlife
We loved staying here. The view from the lanai is amazing. We enjoyed that every evening. We loved the sounds of the Coqui frogs and the chickens. When the rain comes, the Coqui frogs really put on a show. And there was a chicken that laid an egg each day on one of the lanai chairs. The rooms, bathrooms and kitchen are all very comfortable and well appointed. The road up to the house is described well in the materials. It is adventurous, but certainly doable for an average driver in a vehicle with good clearance. The view is 100% worth it!

The house was amazing. I'd recommend this home to anyone with a family who travels to the big island. We had ample space inside and out. We utilized the large kitchen. We had laundry facilities as well for after a long beach day. The cooler and chairs were great to use for our beach days. We hope to come back again.

Unit was comfortable, the lanai was a wonderful place to hang out and eat, the setting was gorgeous, and the birds and frogs provide your evening serenade! Wonderful view from the lanai looking down the slope toward Kailua-Kona and the sea. As other reviews caution, the paved lane/driveway is very abruptly steep as it leaves Mamalahoa Highway, but is no problem with an SUV. A car maybe (?) can make it if you approach the driveway from the south and take it real slow easing off the highway up the sharp initial incline. We had a great stay there with 4 adults and two littles for a week, and would love to stay there again!

What an amazing property - where to begin? The house itself is absolutely gorgeous, spacious, and immaculate. From the moment you step through the front door, the view just takes your breath away. Located high up in the mountains, you have amazing views of the Kona coast, amazing sunsets, afternoon mist rolling in, all surrounded by lush foliage. Wild orchids, ohia lehua, ferns, and fruit trees abound. Even though there are two units here, we never really saw or heard our downstairs "neighbors." Definitely recommend lounging on the patio at sunset with the sweet and friendly house cat curled up on your lap. The kitchen was large and well-stocked with enough plates/bowls/cups/cutlery for a small neighborhood. The dishwasher and laundry facilities were an extra bonus and definitely appreciated. This property is the perfect tropical rainforest escape, yet just a short drive to all the conveniences - groceries, shopping, restaurants, and entertainment. Super close to all of the touristy attractions of Ali'i Drive as well. It feels like you are in another world where time moves slower, the air smells fresher, and your cares melt away - and this is with travelling with 6 teenage boys!!! Stop looking. Book this house. We stayed in the upstairs unit and loved it. There was plenty of space for us to all spread out comfortably. I have to be honest though, the steep and narrow private road leading to the house is pretty nerve-wracking, but once you're at the house, it's all worth it!
