Casa Aponte II is a cozy and comfortable apartment with a modern vintage feel. It is conveniently located close to Loiza Street where you can find anything you need for your stay, and just a 10 minute walk from the most famous beach in San Juan-Ocean Park Beach.
The Space:
Casa Aponte II is a recently remodeled 2nd floor apartment that resembles a typical apartment from the 1960's in Puerto Rico, but with modern touches. It is a cozy and comfortable one bedroom apartment that sleeps 4 people with the extra sofa bed in the living room, where you can enjoy a 55" Roku TV. There is a full kitchen for the entire stay.
Guest Access:
Guests are able to use the entire apartment, plus a patio area just below the apartment.

The Neighborhood:
Machuchal is an ever changing and vibrant neighborhood of Santurce. It is most know for Calle Loiza, which is about a 2 minute walk from the apartment. Here you will find plenty of restaurants, coffee shops, bars, and other eateries, as well as pharmacies, small markets, and so much more. You really don't need to go anywhere else to find what you need for your stay.
The "Barrio" is a typical Puerto Rican neighborhood, where you will find yourself surrounded by locals, but with a good mix of tourists and expats living on the Island. The area has diverse mix of new construction, older buildings, commercial buildings, and others, and is completely safe.
Ocean Park Beach is just a 10 minute walk away, where you will find million dollar properties next to the water.
Getting Around:
Uber is my recommended method of transportation-it’s cheap and easy to use.
Other Things to Note:
This apartment is on a 2nd floor in the back of the building.
-All communication must be on the AirBnB message thread of a confirmed reservation. You must download the app on your phone for all messages to display correctly. Please note I have 40 listings so this is crucial to offer the best service. This will allow me to address questions quickly as the platform identifies you immediately.
-Please note that Puerto Rico is on Atlantic Standard Time when you need to get in touch with me. If it is off hours, please allow some time for a response or search in the Listing Details and/or AirBnB message thread for the answer to your question.
-No 3rd party bookings are allowed. The person that books must be present at all times. No information will be shared with anyone other than the person that booked the reservation. If not followed your reservation may be canceled at anytime.
-No early check in or late check out. If you wish to check in earlier please book the previous night, and if you wish to check out later please book the following night if available. There are many restaurants near the airport and/or the properties where you can enjoy a meal or a drink in while waiting. You could also visit the Mall of San Juan just across from SJU Airport or Plaza Las Americas which is the largest mall in San Juan. Alternatively, you could leave your luggage at Hold my Bags – We keep your bags so you can keep going.
-Puerto Rico’s infrastructure suffers from spontaneous outages. That being said-power, water and internet may suffer an outage during your stay. If it is essential that you have these services uninterrupted be sure to book one of the listings that has a generator; otherwise, I recommend booking a hotel. No refunds will be granted for power, water or internet outages.
-Some listings have fees depending on the amount of guests to account for additional expenditures with the increased amount of guests. If you do not book for the correct amount of guests your reservation may be canceled at anytime.
-We also certain amenities per the amount of nights and guests. If you do not put the correct amount of guests you may be missing some of these for your stay.
-We provide paper towel and toilet paper for your arrival and a few days after. If these run out guests must buy their own.
-Payment processing is handled by AirBnB, so all inquiries must be directed to them including partial payments, payment dates, etc.
Interaction with Guests:
My goal is that guests can enjoy the apartment and Puerto Rico with as little intervention from me as possible, although I am readily available via the AirBnB app, text or phone. I do live nearby, so I know the area well, and am available if needed.

Great spot in San Juan
Easy walk to beach and local restaurants. I loved seeing the street art that was all around the neighborhood. The apartment was comfortable. It was decorated well and had games and plenty to use in the kitchen.

Great location, great rental!
Rental was clean, nicely decorated, and had all amenities you could need for a short stay in San Juan. Super close to beaches and food. AC in bedroom was a major plus. Host was very communicative. Thanks!
If you need a place to keep your bags before check in, we used a bag storage place that was a 2 min walk away, $5 a bag, nice owner and secure spot

My birthday trip stay here was awesome!
I enjoyed my stay at this home. Check in was easy and it is was easy to locate with directions that was given. The home was very clean and had internet connect. The beach is close by just a short walk. There’s several places to eat in walking distance and a gas station. Neighborhood seem fairly safe we walked at night and during the day. We traveled via Uber to get around once we asked the host which would be the best way to travel around the island. The hot water was like warm. We weren’t bothered by that too much. On the table in the kitchen a small group of sugar ants appeared during the stay which again didn’t bother us. The bed was comfortable and the air conditioning works EXCELLENT it gets really cold my spouse’s loved that. The host provided chairs and a cooler if u were to go the beach. I would rent this home again because I do plan to come back to PR.
