This property is conveniently located, felt completely safe for my mom and I, and the host Remco was absolutely awesome!! He was always available to answer any questions or provide recommendations about the area! The house is perfect and so are the backyard views!! You won’t regret booking this property!! Thank you for the perfect mother-daughter trip!!

Absolutely fabulous property in the heart of Willemstad. We found it so difficult to leave at the end of our stay. The house is right on the water with its own private strip of beach and a large pool. It's the perfect amount of space for two people - a spacious living area on the main floor, and a large bedroom space on the second floor. AC in the bedroom was excellent at night. Private, gated parking was a huge bonus too. Remco was so responsive for any questions we had before and during our stay. Should we be back in Curacao, Villa Hope will be at the top of our list!

Dream Vacation!

This was a slice of paradise! Remco was a gracious host and the villa was beyond our expectations! I highly recommend for a couples getaway - so romantic, beautiful view, and extremely comfortable! We hope to return soon!

Paradise in Pietermaai District

Our 7th vacation in Curaçao and 6th stay in Pietermaai District ( our favourite area to stay ) The villa is absolutely as advertised and is a beautifully restored historic monumental home. Very modern decor and outfitted with everything you need. Thank you Remco & Hilde

Perfect spot near town and on the water

This was the best home I’ve ever stayed in. It was the perfect spot near town and with in walking distance to every thing. Truly an incredible place! The hosts are very accommodating and even brought over a bottle of wine when the wifi wasn’t working. The pictures do not do this home justice. It’s beautiful and they paid attention to details all over the home. I can’t wait to come back someday!

Unique and comfortable. A gem of a property.

We stayed at Villa Hope for 11 days in February 2025 and enjoyed everything about this tastefully renovated historical property.The location is ideal. You can enjoy the restaurants in the Pietermaai district, or the shopping in Punda or Otrobanda.It’s all within walking distance.Or you can chill in the backyard in your own private pool with sandy beach, complete with magnificent sunset views.Loft style master with ensuite. Remco is a great host, giving you lots of privacy, yet responsive when contacted.We felt very lucky to be able to stay here.

Wow! This was our first trip to the Island We feel blessed to have celebrated my honeys birthday here The house was unbelievably perfect The location was perfect The food within walking distance was off the charts delicious Remko and Lisa were swift in communicating, patient with questions and the one issue we had was cleared within 15 minutes We prepared breakfast and an occasional lunch in the house with no problems The description of the home was on point The pool was wonderful We’ll be back!

Amazing water front villa

We absolutely loved this property. We enjoyed the beautiful ocean views from the balcony and the pool. We used the pool everyday, it is nice and cool especially after a hot day at the beaches. There is only air conditioning upstairs in the bedroom but if you open all the doors and windows there is a nice breeze through the house. They provided plenty of coffee which was nice to not have to go and buy. Remco was so nice and was there when we arrived and showed us around the house and was available for any questions we had. It’s just a short walk to multiple restaurants, a coffee shop and just a little further to the swinging bridge. We felt very safe and enjoyed it so much!

Best VRBO on the Island

This is truly a romantic, luxury property. Designed by an artist, this 300+ year old property will truly set you into the past as well as the present in the amazing Pietermaai district of Willemstad. There is a market and over 20 fine restaurants within easy walking distance. We sat on the upper balcony watching the cruise ships come and go. Downtown is an easy walk. No AC is not a problem. The cool breeze during the day plus the AC system in the bedroom was perfect. Luxurious towels-Boutique Soaps and lotions made this place a dream come true. We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary here—never to be forgotten.

Paradise in Curacao

The stay at Remco & Marijke’s property was an all round wonderful experience. We were greeted warmly and all that we needed to know was explained efficiently. The house itself is a architect's dream and is not done justice in the photographs. The backyard backs onto the Carribean and I would have been perfectly fine spending my days in the pool under the shade of the palms. The neighborhood is a quaint mix of local cafes and colonial buildings and not overly touristic within easy walking distance of the center of town. During our visit I did not see a hotel or location I would rather have stayed. I highly recommend you look no further! CG

Perfection!

Dear Remco and Marijke, We cannot thank you enough for sharing this beautiful house, and your beautiful selves, with us this past two weeks. I booked this property a year ago for both our 2023 and 2024 trips based solely on its stellar reviews, and they did not disappoint! It was everything and more we hoped it would be, and then some. Perfect location, perfect house, perfect hosts. You were both incredibly responsive and kind when we needed you, but at the same time showed great respect for our privacy while we were guests in your home. We book private rentals a lot and have been lucky to get some very good hosts, but you are the best! So delightful to have met you both. I still have Remco's giggles ringing in my ears. Wonderful stay in Curacao

This is a very unique and beautiful property! And the location is perfect! You can walk a block and be on a street that has multiple restaurants. We felt very safe here throughout our stay. Many times we have been excited to arrive at our destination and find it looks nothing like the pictures - this was not the case with this property. It is stunning and expertly decorated and the pictures do not do it justice! From the beautiful tile and hardwood flooring to the impressive wood beams in the vaulted ceiling, you can tell it was built with high quality materials and lots of love! And the pool area is incredible! The owners have paid a lot of attention to detail - for example I loved having 2 coffee stations - one in the kitchen and one in the bedroom upstairs as well! We had a issue with the gate being stubborn to open to get our car out and Remco sent a crew the next day to fix it. He was always very quick to respond to us. Overall it was a 10/10 stay for us and I would highly recommend it! My only caution would be to anyone elderly that has difficulty with stairs. We are very active and did not mind going upstairs to the bedroom and main bathroom but I can see someone elderly or handicapped having difficulty with the stairs. There is a full shower, sink and toilet out by the pool so you do not have to go upstairs every time to use the restroom but you do have to go upstairs to sleep. Again, the stairs added to the beauty of the property and we did not mind at all!

A SLICE OF PARADISE IN PIETERMAAI

Since we got home, we can’t stop raving about our stay at this little slice of paradise. This was our second time on the island and celebrating my hubby’s birthday. For the first time, we decided not to stay in a hotel but someplace more special. This met ALL of our expectations and much more. The home interior is modern and comfy, and the oceanfront location is perfect. We had our breakfast by poolside, lunch on the beach and a glass of wine by candlelight on the balcony with the sounds of the ocean at night. A comfy bed, luxury towels, wireless charging ... everything you need is there. It was unseasonably hot so the AC wasn't quite enough, so we kept it off and used the fan with the doors open and the breeze while sleeping which was comfortable. I was initially worried about the saltwater pool, but it wasn’t overpowering at all, and we enjoyed it to the fullest AND there’s nothing better than an outdoor shower every day. It's a perfect location close to great restaurants, along a vibrant street with live music and nice local flair. If you plan to venture out, there is no Uber/Lyft. Download the 24/7 taxi Curacao app. It's easy. Lastly, I can't say enough about the host Remco. From when we booked the reservation to when we got in the taxi to the airport home, he was EXTREMELY gracious and accommodating. He met us when we arrived, greeted us with kindness, and welcomed us into his home. We look forward to a return to this special slice of Paradise in Pietermaai.

Hi Gina, Wow thank you so much for your kinds words you were amazing guests! we hope to see you again soon. For those that are maybe also worried about our salt water pool, the water itself isn't actually salt water at least not like in the ocean, salt is added to the pool so that the UV membrane can use that to eliminate algae so we don't have to use chemicals. This is make much nicer softer water without harmful chemicals :)

Heaven on Earth

I cannot stop raving about this property! It is stunning. We were in town for a week and split our stay between this home and the new Sandals resort. In all honesty, I would have been happy staying here the entire time. We really felt like we were a part of the Curacao community and got to partake in local culture that we would not have experienced if we had limited ourselves to just Sandals.Waking up to the sounds of the ocean was heavenly. The pool was phenomenal for a dip upon arriving home each day. We sat outside every night and gazed at the stars.To note. We stopped at a local grocery store after landing at the airport to grab snacks and drinks. The refrigerator is on the smaller side, so don’t overdo it. There are plenty of places to grab food in the area. If you rent a car, there is a gated parking space. The home has a new AC unit installed upstairs which did a great job of cooling. We only ever turned it on at night. The airflow from opening all the doors and windows was sufficient during the day. For my US friends, there are American outlets but not one in the bathroom near the mirror. If you want to successfully do your hair, I suggest an adapter for this purpose. Provided with your stay is a binder with everything you could possibly need to know about the house and community. There are some great suggestions for restaurants, excursions, etc. If you are a planner, I would suggest asking the owners if you can get a digital copy of this in advance. Enjoy your stay!

Breathtaking spot central to everything

We absolutely loved staying at this spot for our honeymoon. It was perfectly romantic and very central to all the places we went to. The property contact was so helpful with suggestions on where to shop/eat/ and more. Available when we needed her and all the recommendations for food were DELICIOUS. Would recommend this spot and would definitely stay again!

Third stay

We absolutely love this house. We're already plotting our return. The in-city location may not be for everyone, but we love being so close to so many of the great restaurants in Pietermaai, a close drive to good grocery shopping and a short walk into town. The pool is a delight. Our host is truly the best. Thank you and see you next year!

Literally Paradise in Pietermaai

We've started our honeymoon on Curacao for five nights in this absolutely stunning dream villa. It was the best accomodation we have stayed in so far. The interior and exterior design is oustanding. The ocean front location is great. You can sit on the balcony or take a bath in the beautiful private pool and enjoy the view on the incoming and outgoing ships. The vibrant neighborhood is only a very short walk away, in the direct surroundings of the house it is quiet so you can relax. There is complimentary coffee, soda and water when entering the house. The Bose multi-room sound system was always on during daytime. We loved the villa so much that we decided to stay the last three days of our honeymoon there instead of the other house we have booked. The communication with Remco was perfect during the entire stay. He is very helpful and responsive. The brochure with recommendations for restaurants, bars, supermarkets etc. is very helpful. We would definitely book this house (and next time only this house) in Curacao. The drive to the beaches in the west could be done easily from the house, as well.

My wife and myself are born to travel and we are lucky enough to say that we have seen a lot. However the world is not a small space so our bucket list is still never ending ( luckily).

When not traveling we run our own Marketing company, Host this beautiful property and love living on our lovely island: Curacao.

Back in the day we used to teach scuba diving and even though we don't teach fulltime anymore we still love the ocean and go diving frequently ( ask us about our fav spots). We also love being outdoors ( above water) and very often tour around the island and explore our beaches.

We inherited this house from our uncle, he was one of the developers of the neighborhood Pietermaai where is property is also located. He was a single guy and wanted to do some very different so his design and passion for architecture shines through this villa...
