Put Your Toes in the Water - House on Lake 1.8 Acres

Enjoy our Vintage Home on Canyon Lake! This private family home is one of the original homes on the south shore and is located on 1.8 acres. Sitting on the outdoor lounging deck, you have views of the cove, the island in the middle of the lake, and will even have the deer come up to ask for a handout. You can walk down to the water, set up chairs, hang out on your floats, tie up your boat/jet ski to the buoy, watch the beautiful sunsets or sunrises, or get that golden tan. The front of the home has a huge meadow that can be used for sports (kickball, football, soccer, frisbee, etc.) or you can park numerous cars and water toy trailers. The whole house just went through an updated remodel to give it that vintage charm. If you love to cook outdoors, then we have a grill and a hibachi just for you. We keep a spare propane tank just in case you need more. The A/C is ice cold and there is plenty of seating for eating and socializing. If you are watching a sporting match but want to be where the action is on the back porch/deck, we have a Swivel TV for you to turn on. We also have 4 other TV's located inside the house. The TV's are connected through WIFI and you can get your sports, Netflix, movies, regular channels, ESPN, and numerous other channels we subscribe to. There is plenty of WIFI to keep you connected. Hope this house brings you a bunch of memories like it has for our family.
We get this question a lot, “Can we bring a dog? I am sorry but we will not allow any pets on the property due to many reasons. If you have any questions, please ask me. Canyon Lake is such a great place.

Fun and Convenient

Loved the stay- the home was beautiful and exactly as advertised. The loft was really hot when we got there but with fans and AC it became comfortable really quickly! Checking in and out was simple and we were in a very reasonable distance for all the activities we wanted to do. The outside definitely hasn’t been maintained as well as the inside but it was still nice to sit on the porch in the mornings and evenings and enjoy a cup of coffee with our loved ones! Would happily recommend to others!

Guys weekend getaway

The property was beautiful and provided ample space to relax and enjoy the hill country. The outdoors furniture made finding a relaxing place to sit easy. We would stay here again.

Perfect for family vacation!

We loved staying here for our spring break! The newly renovated inside was very clean and comfortable and had some fun extras like a loft, a piano, beautiful views from every room… I could’ve spent so much more time there discovering the little treasures of this property. The outside of the home is full of extras like canoes, outdoor games, a fire pit, lots of seating areas, feeding the deer that come into the yard (corn provided) and the lights at night were a nice touch. I can just imagine all of the fun filled family get togethers the owner must have had. Thank you Louis for sharing your beautiful home with us.

Older home, but very cozy!

This property was definitely stocked with anything and everything one would need to enjoy their time away from home. We enjoyed everything about our stay, except for the rain the entire time!

Great location!

Great home that is very well equipped with everything you and your family need for the stay. You can tell this is lake house that has been in a family for many years, and not some fly by night short term rental. Great communication with the owner was also very much appreciated.

Awesome Place on the Lake!

We loved this place and cannot wait to book it again. I could not get enough of the gorgeous views of the water sitting on the deck. The deer would come up and the owner had a can full of corn to feed them. We cooked on the Hibachi grill and played corn hole in the evening. The canoes were a special treat and there were even life jackets for our little ones. Looking forward to our next visit to Canyon Lake.

Definitely avoid this property

I don’t even know where to begin about how disappointed we were with this property. First time ever, staying at a vrbo that I felt, we had to move somewhere else. There was just nasty stuff everywhere. Bunch of shoes stockpiled outside in the porch. Melted gummies stuck all over the outside deck. House was clearly not cleaned before we arrive. Septic tank discharges straight into the yard. Owner thinks this is completely normal. My daughter fell off the stairs from second floor within the first couple hours we arrived because I have never seen such horrible stairs (more like a ladder). There was bunch of chairs and tables thrown around in the backyard. Grill was beyond disgusting. My wife and her mum spent the first couple hours just cleaning the house so we can sleep in for the night and owner simply just refunded us the cleaning fee. What a way to start your Texas vacation. Definitely avoid this house.

Cute cabin, great location

Loved being able to walk down and swim, even in November. So many deer!! The stairs up to the loft warrant caution, but we were really comfortable and would go back.

Canyon lake stay

This property is located on a great part of the lake! You can swim and park your boat right at the base of the property. They house is perfect for friends and family. We enjoyed our stay at the house thoroughly.

Shabby chic oasis

This place doesn’t look like much from the street, but it was perfect! The owner leaves tons of water toys to play with and everything you might need in the house. I brought six young people with me, two 13 year old girls and two older couple ranging from 18 to 21. Everyone loved the place. It’s right on the beautiful and not very developed lake. Very comfortable. It isn’t absolutely clean, but who cares? It was nearly perfect in every other way!

Great wildlife

I think the highlight was just all the animals. I have 4 little girls and they enjoyed the deer. The adults got to see the fox several times in the evening. The fishing was exceptional at dusk. My wife and I each caught bass

Wonderful Get Away

We stayed for the week leading up to Christmas, and it was a great get away. We had deer and ducks visit us every day—the owner left a can of feed our, and the animals know it! We also had a curious fox and raccoon. The location on the lake was great for fishing, and the path it well lit. We love the lights on the tree out back, and the weather was perfect for a fire in the fire pit. We definitely would love to come back when it’s warmer and get out on the lake.

Home away from home.

Home away from home. That's as good a review as I could possibly give. My friends and I needed a place to relax and unwind over a few days, to get away from all the craziness in the world for just a bit. The area is beautiful and the home was very welcoming and cozy. We were visited by deer on a daily basis, and one night a curious fox came a sat close to us while we chatted on the back porch. James the owner of the property was always courteous and available to answer any questions we had. Highly recommend for small or larger groups. Would stay here again.

Beautiful, calm and relaxing property

James' family lakehouse is a charming, rustic A-frame on a beautiful piece of land with amazing main body views and access to Canyon Lake. While it's an older home with the associated quirks, it's been tastefully remodeled and was perfectly clean and comfortable for our long weekend. The location is ideal-on a quiet dead end street with no traffic, but easy to access and close to New Braunfels and several other small towns. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and will consider it again in the future!

I grew up going to my grandparents house on the lake. This home was here before the lake was filled in. Matter of fact, my parents used to drive through where the lake is to get supplies when building this home. I am so glad to share this place with everyone. It has made so many memories for me and my family and I hope it does the same for you.

You can park your boat, jet ski, or just hang out right in front of the house in the water. Come on up for lunch or have a picnic down at the water's edge. We have all TV's for your sporting events, movies, etc. Very cold A/C and warm Heat if you come during the winter time.

There is a corn hold playing area located right next to the outdoor deck and grills. There is plenty of seating for everyone to enjoy the view of the lake.
